عَقِبَيْهِ
his heels

يَضُرَّ
will he harm

وَسَيَجْزِى
And will reward

مُّؤَجَّلًا
determined.

نُؤْتِهِۦ
We will give him

وَسَنَجْزِى
And We will reward
×1
رِبِّيُّونَ
(were) religious scholars

وَهَنُوا۟
they lost heart
×1
ضَعُفُوا۟
they weakened
×1
وَإِسْرَافَنَا
and our excesses

أَمْرِنَا
our affairs
×2
وَٱنصُرْنَا
and give us victory

فَـَٔاتَىٰهُمُ
So gave them

يَرُدُّوكُمْ
they will turn you back
×5
مَوْلَىٰكُمْ
(is) your Protector

وَهُوَ
and He
×1
ٱلنَّٰصِرِينَ
(of) the Helpers.

قُلُوبِ
(the) hearts
×6
وَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ
and their refuge
×1
صَدَقَكُمُ
fulfilled to you
×1
تَحُسُّونَهُم
you were killing them
×1
فَشِلْتُمْ
you lost courage
×1
وَتَنَٰزَعْتُمْ
and you fell into dispute
×1
وَعَصَيْتُم
and you disobeyed
×6
وَمِنكُم
and among you
×1
صَرَفَكُمْ
He diverted you
×1
لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ
so that He may test you.

تُصْعِدُونَ
you were running uphill
×1
تَلْوُۥنَ
casting a glance
×1
أُخْرَىٰكُمْ
(from) behind you.
×1
فَأَثَٰبَكُمْ
So (He) repaid you
×1
غَمًّۢا
(with) distress
×1
بِغَمٍّ
on distress
×3
تَحْزَنُوا۟
you grieve
×3
فَاتَكُمْ
escaped you
×2
أَمَنَةً
security -
×1
نُّعَاسًا
slumber
×1
أَهَمَّتْهُمْ
worried [them]
×3
كُلَّهُۥ
all (of) it
×3
يُخْفُونَ
They hide
×1
يُبْدُونَ
they reveal
×2
قُتِلْنَا
we would have been killed
×1
لَبَرَزَ
surely (would have) come out
×1
مَضَاجِعِهِمْ
their places of death.
×1
وَلِيَبْتَلِىَ
And that might test
×4
صُدُورِكُمْ
your breasts
×2
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ
and that He may purge
×14
قُلُوبِكُمْ
your hearts.
