وَٱلْفَجْرِ
By the dawn,

وَلَيَالٍ
And the nights
×1
وَٱلشَّفْعِ
And the even
×1
وَٱلْوَتْرِ
and the odd,
×7
وَٱلَّيْلِ
And the night
×1
يَسْرِ
it passes.
×1
قَسَمٌ
(not) an oath
×1
لِّذِى
for those
×2
حِجْرٍ
who understand?
×1
بِعَادٍ
with Aad,
×1
إِرَمَ
Iram,
×1
ٱلْعِمَادِ
lofty pillars,
×178
لَمْ
not
×5
مِثْلُهَا
like them
×1
جَابُوا۟
carved out
×1
ٱلصَّخْرَ
the rocks
×3
بِٱلْوَادِ
in the valley,
×5
وَفِرْعَوْنَ
And Firaun,
×1
طَغَوْا۟
transgressed
×1
فَأَكْثَرُوا۟
And (made) much
×1
فَصَبَّ
So poured
×1
سَوْطَ
scourge
×1
لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ
(is) surely Ever Watchful.

فَأَمَّا
And as for
×2
ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ
try him
×1
فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ
and is generous to him
×1
وَنَعَّمَهُۥ
and favors him,
×1
أَكْرَمَنِ
has honored me."
×1
فَقَدَرَ
and restricts
×1
أَهَٰنَنِ
(has) humiliated me."
×1
تُكْرِمُونَ
you honor
×1
تَحَٰٓضُّونَ
you feel the urge
×1
وَتَأْكُلُونَ
And you consume
×1
ٱلتُّرَاثَ
the inheritance
×1
أَكْلًا
devouring
×1
وَتُحِبُّونَ
And you love
×4
ٱلْمَالَ
wealth
×7
حُبًّا
(with) love
×1
جَمًّا
immense.
×1
دُكَّتِ
is leveled
×3
دَكًّا
pounded,
×2
وَجِا۟ىٓءَ
And is brought,
×2
بِجَهَنَّمَ
Hell.
×4
وَأَنَّىٰ
but how
×1
لِحَيَاتِى
for my life."
×1
يُوثِقُ
will bind
×1
وَثَاقَهُۥٓ
(as) His binding
×1
يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا
