مَتَٰعَهُمْ
their baggage,

وَجَدُوا۟
they found

رُدَّتْ
returned

نَبْغِى
(could) we desire?

بِضَٰعَتُنَا
(is) our merchandise

وَنَمِيرُ
And we will get provision
×2
أَهْلَنَا
(for) our family,
×1
وَنَحْفَظُ
and we will protect
×1
وَنَزْدَادُ
and get an increase
×2
بَعِيرٍ
(of) a camel's (load).
×1
أُرْسِلَهُۥ
will I send him
×1
تُؤْتُونِ
you give to me
×1
لَتَأْتُنَّنِى
that surely you will bring him to me
×1
يُحَاطَ
you are surrounded."

ءَاتَوْهُ
they had given him
×1
مَوْثِقَهُمْ
their promise,

وَٱدْخُلُوا۟
but enter

مُّتَفَرِّقَةٍ
different.

أُغْنِى
I can avail

وَعَلَيْهِ
and upon Him,

أَبُوهُم
their father,

يُغْنِى
avail(ed)

حَاجَةً
(it was) a need
×1
قَضَىٰهَا
which he carried out.

أَخَاهُ
his brother.

أَخُوكَ
your brother
×2
تَبْتَئِسْ
grieve
×2
جَهَّزَهُم
he had furnished them
×1
ٱلسِّقَايَةَ
the drinking cup
×1
رَحْلِ
the bag
×1
أَيَّتُهَا
"O you
×1
لَسَٰرِقُونَ
surely (are) thieves."
×1
وَأَقْبَلُوا۟
turning towards
×1
تَفْقِدُونَ
you miss?"
×1
نَفْقِدُ
"We are missing
×1
صُوَاعَ
(the) cup
×5
وَلِمَن
And for (one) who
×2
زَعِيمٌ
(is) responsible."

جِئْنَا
we came
×1
لِنُفْسِدَ
that we cause corruption
×1
سَٰرِقِينَ
thieves."

جَزَٰٓؤُهُۥٓ
(will be the) recompense (of) it
×1
رَحْلِهِۦ
his bag,
×1
فَبَدَأَ
So he began

بِأَوْعِيَتِهِمْ
with their bags

وِعَآءِ
(the) bag
×1
ٱسْتَخْرَجَهَا
he brought it out
