Ayah 1
وَٱلْفَجْرِ By the dawn,
English - By the dawn .
हिंदी - क़सम है सुबह की।.
Ayah 2
وَلَيَالٍ And the nights عَشْرٍ ten.
English - And [by] ten nights .
हिंदी - और दस रातों की ।.
Ayah 3
وَٱلشَّفْعِ And the even وَٱلْوَتْرِ and the odd,
English - And [by] the even [number] and the odd .
हिंदी - और सम और विषम की।.
Ayah 4
وَٱلَّيْلِ And the night إِذَا when يَسْرِ it passes.
English - And [by] the night when it passes, .
हिंदी - और रात की जब जाने लगे।.
Ayah 5
هَلْ Is فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that قَسَمٌ (not) an oath لِّذِى for those حِجْرٍ who understand?
English - Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception? .
हिंदी - क्या इस में क़सम है अक़्लमन्द के लिए?.
Ayah 6
أَلَمْ Did not تَرَ you see كَيْفَ how فَعَلَ dealt رَبُّكَ your Lord بِعَادٍ with Aad,
English - Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ‘Aad – .
हिंदी - क्या तुम ने नहीं देखा कि तुम्हारे रब ने आद के साथ क्या मामला किया?.
Ayah 7
إِرَمَ Iram, ذَاتِ possessors (of), ٱلْعِمَادِ lofty pillars,
English - [With] Iram – who had lofty pillars, .
हिंदी - इरम खंबों वाले ।.
Ayah 8
ٱلَّتِى Which لَمْ not يُخْلَقْ had been created مِثْلُهَا like them فِى in ٱلْبِلَٰدِ the cities,
English - The likes of whom had never been created in the land? .
हिंदी - इन जैसा मुलकों में पैदा ही नहीं किया गया।.
Ayah 9
وَثَمُودَ And Thamud, ٱلَّذِينَ who جَابُوا۟ carved out ٱلصَّخْرَ the rocks بِٱلْوَادِ in the valley,
English - And [with] Thamūd, who carved out the rocks in the valley? .
हिंदी - और समूद जो वादी में चट्टान को तराशते थे।.
Ayah 10
وَفِرْعَوْنَ And Firaun, ذِى owner of ٱلْأَوْتَادِ stakes?
English - And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? – .
हिंदी - और फ़िरऔन खूँटों वाला ।.
Ayah 11
ٱلَّذِينَ Who طَغَوْا۟ transgressed فِى in ٱلْبِلَٰدِ the lands,
English - [All of] whom oppressed within the lands .
हिंदी - जिन लोगों ने मुलकों में ज़्यादती कर रखी थी।.
Ayah 12
فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ And (made) much فِيهَا therein ٱلْفَسَادَ corruption.
English - And increased therein the corruption. .
हिंदी - और उस में बहुत भ्रष्टाचार फैलाया ।.
Ayah 13
فَصَبَّ So poured عَلَيْهِمْ on them رَبُّكَ your Lord سَوْطَ scourge عَذَابٍ (of) punishment.
English - So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment. .
हिंदी - तो तुम्हारे रब ने उन पर अज़ाब का कोड़ा बरसाया।.
Ayah 14
إِنَّ Indeed, رَبَّكَ your Lord لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ (is) surely Ever Watchful.
English - Indeed, your Lord is in observation. .
हिंदी - बेशक तुम्हारा रब घात में है।.
Ayah 15
فَأَمَّا And as for ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ man, إِذَا when مَا does ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ try him رَبُّهُۥ his Lord فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ and is generous to him وَنَعَّمَهُۥ and favors him, فَيَقُولُ he says, رَبِّىٓ "My Lord أَكْرَمَنِ has honored me."
English - And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me." .
हिंदी - लेकिन इन्सान को जब उसका रब आज़माता है, तो उस को इज़्ज़त और नेमत देता है तो वह कहता है “मेरे रब ने मझे इज़्ज़त दी”।.
Ayah 16
وَأَمَّآ But إِذَا when مَا does ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ He try him فَقَدَرَ and restricts عَلَيْهِ for him رِزْقَهُۥ his provision, فَيَقُولُ then he says رَبِّىٓ "My Lord أَهَٰنَنِ (has) humiliated me."
English - But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me." .
हिंदी - मगर जब उसका रब उसे आज़माता है तो उस पर उस की रोज़ी को तंग कर देता है तो वह कहता है “मेरे रब ने मुझे ज़लील किया”।.
Ayah 17
كَلَّا Nay! بَل But لَّا not تُكْرِمُونَ you honor ٱلْيَتِيمَ the orphan,
English - No! But you do not honor the orphan .
हिंदी - हरगिज़ नहीं बल्कि तुम लोग न यतीम को इज़्ज़त देते हो।.
Ayah 18
وَلَا And not تَحَٰٓضُّونَ you feel the urge عَلَىٰ to طَعَامِ feed ٱلْمِسْكِينِ the poor.
English - And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor. .
हिंदी - और न ही गरीब को खाना खिलाने पर एक दूसरे को उभारते हो।.
Ayah 19
وَتَأْكُلُونَ And you consume ٱلتُّرَاثَ the inheritance أَكْلًا devouring لَّمًّا altogether,
English - And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether, .
हिंदी - और विरासत का माल समेट समेट कर खा जाते हो।.
Ayah 20
وَتُحِبُّونَ And you love ٱلْمَالَ wealth حُبًّا (with) love جَمًّا immense.
English - And you love wealth with immense love. .
हिंदी - और माल से बहुत मुहब्बत करते हो।.
Ayah 21
كَلَّآ Nay! إِذَا When دُكَّتِ is leveled ٱلْأَرْضُ the earth, دَكًّا pounded, دَكًّا (and) crushed,
English - No! When the earth has been leveled – pounded and crushed – .
हिंदी - हरगिज़ नहीं, जब ज़मीन कूट कूट कर बराबर कर दी जाएगी।.
Ayah 22
وَجَآءَ And comes رَبُّكَ your Lord وَٱلْمَلَكُ and the Angels, صَفًّا rank, صَفًّا (upon) rank,
English - And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank, .
हिंदी - और तुम्हारे रब का हुक्म और फ़रिश्ते पंक्ति के बाद पंक्ति में आएंगे।.
Ayah 23
وَجِا۟ىٓءَ And is brought, يَوْمَئِذٍۭ that Day, بِجَهَنَّمَ Hell. يَوْمَئِذٍ That Day يَتَذَكَّرُ will remember ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ man, وَأَنَّىٰ but how لَهُ (will be) for him ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ the remembrance?
English - And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell – that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance? .
हिंदी - और उस दिन नर्क को लाया जाएगा, उस दिन इन्सान याद करेगा मगर अब याद करना कहाँ फ़ायदा देगा।.
Ayah 24
يَقُولُ He will say, يَٰلَيْتَنِى "O I wish! قَدَّمْتُ I had sent forth لِحَيَاتِى for my life."
English - He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life." .
हिंदी - वह कहेगा कि काश मैने अपनी ज़िन्दगी के वास्ते कुछ पहले भेजा होता।.
Ayah 25
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ So that Day لَّا not يُعَذِّبُ will punish, عَذَابَهُۥٓ (as) His punishment أَحَدٌ anyone.
English - So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment, .
हिंदी - तो उस दिन ऐसी सज़ा देगा कि किसी ने वैसी सज़ा न दी होगी।.
Ayah 26
وَلَا And not يُوثِقُ will bind وَثَاقَهُۥٓ (as) His binding أَحَدٌ anyone.
English - And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers]. .
हिंदी - और न कोई उस जैसी बेड़ियाँ लगाएगा ।.
Ayah 27
يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا "O ٱلنَّفْسُ soul! ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ who is satisfied,
English - [To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul, .
हिंदी - ऐ शांत आत्मा।.
Ayah 28
ٱرْجِعِىٓ Return إِلَىٰ to رَبِّكِ your Lord رَاضِيَةً well pleased, مَّرْضِيَّةً and pleasing.
English - Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], .
हिंदी - अपने रब की तरफ चल, तू उससे खुश, वह तुझ से खुश।.
Ayah 29
فَٱدْخُلِى So enter فِى among عِبَٰدِى My slaves,
English - And enter among My [righteous] servants .
हिंदी - मेरे बन्दों में दाख़िल हो जा।.
Ayah 30
وَٱدْخُلِى And enter جَنَّتِى My Paradise."
English - And enter My Paradise." .
हिंदी - और मेरे स्वर्ग में दाखिल हो जा।.
