Ayah 1
By the sky, containing the constellations,
English - By the sky containing great stars .
Ayah 2
And the Day Promised,
English - And [by] the promised Day .
Ayah 3
And (the) witness and what is witnessed,
English - And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, .
Ayah 4
Destroyed were (the) companions (of) the pit,
English - Cursed were the companions of the trench .
Ayah 5
(Of) the fire full (of) the fuel,
English - [Containing] the fire full of fuel, .
Ayah 6
When they by it (were) sitting,
English - When they were sitting near it .
Ayah 7
And they over what they were doing to the believers witnesses.
English - And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. .
Ayah 8
And not they resented [of] them except that they believed in Allah the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy,
English - And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, .
Ayah 9
The One Who, for Him (is) the dominion (of) the heavens and the earth; and Allah on every thing (is) a Witness.
English - To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. .
Ayah 10
Indeed, those who persecuted the believing men and the believing women, then not they repented, then for them (is the) punishment (of) Hell and for them (is the) punishment (of) the Burning Fire.
English - Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. .
Ayah 11
Indeed, those who believe and do the righteous deeds, for them (will be) Gardens flow from underneath it the rivers. That (is) the success the great.
English - Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. .
Ayah 12
Indeed, (the) Grip (of) your Lord (is) surely strong.
English - Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. .
Ayah 13
Indeed He, He originates and repeats,
English - Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. .
Ayah 14
And He (is) the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Loving,
English - And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, .
Ayah 15
Owner (of) the Throne the Glorious,
English - Honorable Owner of the Throne, .
Ayah 16
Doer of what He intends.
English - Effecter of what He intends. .
Ayah 17
Has come to you (the) story (of) the hosts,
English - Has there reached you the story of the soldiers – .
Ayah 18
Firaun and Thamud?
English - [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamūd? .
Ayah 19
Nay! Those who disbelieve (are) in denial.
English - But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, .
Ayah 20
But Allah from behind them, encompasses.
English - While Allah encompasses them from behind. .
Ayah 21
Nay! It (is) a Quran Glorious,
English - But this is an honored Qur’an .
Ayah 22
In a Tablet, Guarded.
English - [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. .
