Ayah 1
عَبَسَ He frowned وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ and turned away,
English - The Prophet frowned and turned away .
हिंदी - उसने तेवरी चढ़ाई और पलट गया।.
Ayah 2
أَن Because جَآءَهُ came to him ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ the blind man.
English - Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. .
हिंदी - कि अंधा आदमी उस के पास आया।.
Ayah 3
وَمَا But what يُدْرِيكَ would make you know لَعَلَّهُۥ that he might يَزَّكَّىٰٓ purify himself,
English - But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified .
हिंदी - और तुम्हें क्या मालूम, शायद कि वह शुद्ध हो जाता।.
Ayah 4
أَوْ Or يَذَّكَّرُ be reminded فَتَنفَعَهُ so would benefit him ٱلذِّكْرَىٰٓ the reminder?
English - Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? .
हिंदी - या वह संदेश सुनता तो संदेश उसके लिए लाभदायक होता।.
Ayah 5
أَمَّا As for مَنِ (him) who ٱسْتَغْنَىٰ considers himself free from need,
English - As for he who thinks himself without need, .
हिंदी - रहा वह जिस ने बेपरवाही की।.
Ayah 6
فَأَنتَ So you لَهُۥ to him تَصَدَّىٰ give attention.
English - To him you give attention. .
हिंदी - तो तुम उस के लिए फ़िक्र करते हो।.
Ayah 7
وَمَا And not عَلَيْكَ upon you أَلَّا that not يَزَّكَّىٰ he purifies himself.
English - And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. .
हिंदी - हालाँकि अगर वह न शुद्ध हुआ तो तुम पर कोई ज़िम्मेदारी नहीं है।.
Ayah 8
وَأَمَّا But as for مَن (he) who جَآءَكَ came to you يَسْعَىٰ striving,
English - But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] .
हिंदी - और रहा वह जो तुम्हारे पास दौड़ता हुआ आया।.
Ayah 9
وَهُوَ While he يَخْشَىٰ fears,
English - While he fears [Allah], .
हिंदी - और वह डरता है।.
Ayah 10
فَأَنتَ But you عَنْهُ from him تَلَهَّىٰ (are) distracted.
English - From him you are distracted. .
हिंदी - तो तुम उस से बेरूख़ी करते हो।.
Ayah 11
كَلَّآ Nay! إِنَّهَا Indeed, it تَذْكِرَةٌ (is) a reminder,
English - No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; .
हिंदी - हरगिज़ नहीं, यह एक नसीहत है।.
Ayah 12
فَمَن So whosoever شَآءَ wills ذَكَرَهُۥ may remember it.
English - So whoever wills may remember it. .
हिंदी - तो जिसका जी चाहे वह इसे याद रखे।.
Ayah 13
فِى In صُحُفٍ sheets مُّكَرَّمَةٍ honored,
English - [It is recorded] in honored sheets, .
हिंदी - सम्मानित पन्नों में।.
Ayah 14
مَّرْفُوعَةٍ Exalted, مُّطَهَّرَةٍۭ purified,
English - Exalted and purified, .
हिंदी - जो बुलन्द और पाक हैं।.
Ayah 15
بِأَيْدِى In (the) hands سَفَرَةٍ (of) scribes.
English - [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, .
हिंदी - लिखने वालों के हाथों में।.
Ayah 16
كِرَامٍۭ Noble, بَرَرَةٍ dutiful.
English - Noble and dutiful. .
हिंदी - जो सम्मानित और नेक हैं।.
Ayah 17
قُتِلَ Is destroyed ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ [the] man, مَآ how أَكْفَرَهُۥ ungrateful is he!
English - Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. .
हिंदी - इन्सान हलाक हो जाए, वह कैसा नाशुक्रा है।.
Ayah 18
مِنْ From أَىِّ what شَىْءٍ thing خَلَقَهُۥ He created him?
English - From what substance did He create him? .
हिंदी - उसने किस चीज़ से उसे पैदा किया?.
Ayah 19
مِن From نُّطْفَةٍ a semen-drop خَلَقَهُۥ He created him, فَقَدَّرَهُۥ then He proportioned him,
English - From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; .
हिंदी - एक बूंद से उसे पैदा किया फिर उसको सन्तुलित बनाया।.
Ayah 20
ثُمَّ Then ٱلسَّبِيلَ the way, يَسَّرَهُۥ He made easy for him,
English - Then He eased the way for him; .
हिंदी - फिर रास्ता उस के लिए आसान किया ।.
Ayah 21
ثُمَّ Then أَمَاتَهُۥ He causes him to die فَأَقْبَرَهُۥ and provides a grave for him,
English - Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. .
हिंदी - फिर उस को मौत दी तो उसे क़ब्र में पहुंचा दिया।.
Ayah 22
ثُمَّ Then إِذَا when شَآءَ He wills, أَنشَرَهُۥ He will resurrect him.
English - Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. .
हिंदी - फिर जब चाहेगा, वह उसे फिर से जीवित करेगा।.
Ayah 23
كَلَّا Nay! لَمَّا Not يَقْضِ he has accomplished مَآ what أَمَرَهُۥ He commanded him.
English - No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. .
हिंदी - हरगिज़ नहीं, उसने वह कर्तव्य नहीं निभाया जिसका उसने उसे आदेश दिया था।.
Ayah 24
فَلْيَنظُرِ Then let look ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ the man إِلَىٰ at طَعَامِهِۦٓ his food,
English - Then let mankind look at his food – .
हिंदी - तो इन्सान को चाहिए की अपने खाने को देखे।.
Ayah 25
أَنَّا That [We] صَبَبْنَا [We] poured ٱلْمَآءَ the water صَبًّا (in) abundance,
English - How We poured down water in torrents, .
हिंदी - हम ने पानी को कैसे भरपूर मात्रा में बरसाया।.
Ayah 26
ثُمَّ Then شَقَقْنَا We cleaved ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth شَقًّا splitting,
English - Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], .
हिंदी - फ़िर हमने जमीन को अजीब तरह से फाड़ा।.
Ayah 27
فَأَنۢبَتْنَا Then We caused to grow فِيهَا therein حَبًّا grain,
English - And caused to grow within it grain .
हिंदी - फिर हमने उसमें अनाज उगाया।.
Ayah 28
وَعِنَبًا And grapes وَقَضْبًا and green fodder,
English - And grapes and herbage .
हिंदी - और अंगूर और तरकारियाँ।.
Ayah 29
وَزَيْتُونًا And olive وَنَخْلًا and date-palms,
English - And olive and palm trees .
हिंदी - और जै़तून और खजूरें।.
Ayah 30
وَحَدَآئِقَ And gardens غُلْبًا (of) thick foliage,
English - And gardens of dense shrubbery .
हिंदी - और घने बाग़।.
Ayah 31
وَفَٰكِهَةً And fruits وَأَبًّا and grass,
English - And fruit and grass – .
हिंदी - और फल और चारे।.
Ayah 32
مَّتَٰعًا (As) a provision لَّكُمْ for you وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ and for your cattle.
English - [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. .
हिंदी - ख़ुराक तुम्हारे और तुम्हारे मवेशियों के लिए।.
Ayah 33
فَإِذَا But when جَآءَتِ comes ٱلصَّآخَّةُ the Deafening Blast,
English - But when there comes the Deafening Blast .
हिंदी - फिर जब कान फाड़ने वाली आवाज़ आएगी।.
Ayah 34
يَوْمَ (The) Day يَفِرُّ will flee ٱلْمَرْءُ a man مِنْ from أَخِيهِ his brother,
English - On the Day a man will flee from his brother .
हिंदी - उस दिन आदमी भागेगा अपने भाई।.
Ayah 35
وَأُمِّهِۦ And his mother وَأَبِيهِ and his father,
English - And his mother and his father .
हिंदी - और अपनी माँ और अपने बाप।.
Ayah 36
وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ And his wife وَبَنِيهِ and his children,
English - And his wife and his children, .
हिंदी - और अपने बीवी और बेटे से।.
Ayah 37
لِكُلِّ For every ٱمْرِئٍ man مِّنْهُمْ among them يَوْمَئِذٍ that Day شَأْنٌ (will be) a matter يُغْنِيهِ occupying him.
English - For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. .
हिंदी - हर एक का उस दिन एैसा हाल होगा जो उस के होश उड़ा देगा।.
Ayah 38
وُجُوهٌ Faces, يَوْمَئِذٍ that Day مُّسْفِرَةٌ (will be) bright,
English - [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright – .
हिंदी - कुछ चेहरे उस दिन दमक रहे होंगे।.
Ayah 39
ضَاحِكَةٌ Laughing, مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ rejoicing at good news.
English - Laughing, rejoicing at good news. .
हिंदी - हँसते और खुशयां वाले हांेगे।.
Ayah 40
وَوُجُوهٌ And faces, يَوْمَئِذٍ that Day, عَلَيْهَا upon them غَبَرَةٌ (will be) dust,
English - And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. .
हिंदी - और बहुत से चेहरे ऐसे होंगे जिन पर धूल पड़ी होगी।.
Ayah 41
تَرْهَقُهَا Will cover them قَتَرَةٌ darkness.
English - Blackness will cover them. .
हिंदी - उन पर अंधेरा छाया हुआ होगा।.
Ayah 42
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ Those هُمُ [they] ٱلْكَفَرَةُ (are) the disbelievers, ٱلْفَجَرَةُ the wicked ones.
English - Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. .
हिंदी - यही लोग हैं, काफिर गुनाहगार।.
