Ayah 1
عَمَّ About what يَتَسَآءَلُونَ are they asking one another?
English - About what are they asking one another? .
हिंदी - ये लोग आपस में किस चीज़ के बारे में पूछते हैं।.
Ayah 2
عَنِ About ٱلنَّبَإِ the News ٱلْعَظِيمِ the Great,
English - About the great news – .
हिंदी - उस बड़ी ख़बर के बारे में।.
Ayah 3
ٱلَّذِى (About) which هُمْ they فِيهِ (are) concerning it مُخْتَلِفُونَ (in) disagreement.
English - That over which they are in disagreement. .
हिंदी - जिस में लोग असहमत हैं।.
Ayah 4
كَلَّا Nay! سَيَعْلَمُونَ (soon) they will know.
English - No! They are going to know. .
हिंदी - यक़ीनन उन्हें मालूम हो जाएगा।.
Ayah 5
ثُمَّ Then كَلَّا Nay! سَيَعْلَمُونَ (soon) they will know.
English - Then, no! They are going to know. .
हिंदी - ज़रूर निश्चित रूप से उन्हें मालूम हो जाएगा।.
Ayah 6
أَلَمْ Have not نَجْعَلِ We made ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth مِهَٰدًا a resting place?
English - Have We not made the earth a resting place? .
हिंदी - क्या हमने ज़मीन को बिछौना नहीं बनाया?.
Ayah 7
وَٱلْجِبَالَ And the mountains أَوْتَادًا (as) pegs,
English - And the mountains as stakes? .
हिंदी - और पहाड़ों को खूँटा?.
Ayah 8
وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ And We created you أَزْوَٰجًا (in) pairs,
English - And We created you in pairs .
हिंदी - और हमने तुम लोगों को जोड़ों में पैदा किया।.
Ayah 9
وَجَعَلْنَا And We made نَوْمَكُمْ your sleep سُبَاتًا (for) rest,
English - And made your sleep [a means for] rest .
हिंदी - और तुम्हारी नींद को सुकून के लिए बनाया।.
Ayah 10
وَجَعَلْنَا And We made ٱلَّيْلَ the night لِبَاسًا (as) covering,
English - And made the night as clothing .
हिंदी - और रात को लिबास बनाया।.
Ayah 11
وَجَعَلْنَا And We made ٱلنَّهَارَ the day مَعَاشًا (for) livelihood,
English - And made the day for livelihood .
हिंदी - और दिन को कमाने के लिए।.
Ayah 12
وَبَنَيْنَا And We constructed فَوْقَكُمْ over you سَبْعًا seven شِدَادًا strong,
English - And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] .
हिंदी - और हमने तुम्हारे ऊपर सात आसमान बनाए।.
Ayah 13
وَجَعَلْنَا And We placed سِرَاجًا a lamp وَهَّاجًا burning,
English - And made [therein] a burning lamp .
हिंदी - और एक बहुत ही रौशन चिराग़ बनाया।.
Ayah 14
وَأَنزَلْنَا And We sent down مِنَ from ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ the rain clouds مَآءً water ثَجَّاجًا pouring abundantly,
English - And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water .
हिंदी - और हम ने बादलों से मूसलाधार पानी बरसाया।.
Ayah 15
لِّنُخْرِجَ That We may bring forth بِهِۦ thereby حَبًّا grain وَنَبَاتًا and vegetation,
English - That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation .
हिंदी - ताकि हम उस से निकालें अनाज और सब्ज़ी।.
Ayah 16
وَجَنَّٰتٍ And gardens أَلْفَافًا (of) thick foliage.
English - And gardens of entwined growth. .
हिंदी - और घने घने बाग़।.
Ayah 17
إِنَّ Indeed, يَوْمَ (the) Day ٱلْفَصْلِ (of) the Judgment كَانَ is مِيقَٰتًا an appointed time,
English - Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time – .
हिंदी - बेशक फ़ैसले का दिन तय कर दिया गया है।.
Ayah 18
يَوْمَ (The) Day يُنفَخُ (in which) shall be blown فِى in ٱلصُّورِ the trumpet فَتَأْتُونَ and you will come forth أَفْوَاجًا (in) crowds,
English - The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes .
हिंदी - जिस दिन सूर फूँका जाएगा तो तुम भीड़ की सूरत में आओगे।.
Ayah 19
وَفُتِحَتِ And is opened ٱلسَّمَآءُ the heaven فَكَانَتْ and becomes أَبْوَٰبًا gateways,
English - And the heaven is opened and will become gateways .
हिंदी - और आसमान खोल दिए जाएँगे, तो वह दरवाज़े ही दरवाज़े बन जाएंगे।.
Ayah 20
وَسُيِّرَتِ And are moved ٱلْجِبَالُ the mountains فَكَانَتْ and become سَرَابًا a mirage.
English - And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. .
हिंदी - और पहाड़ चलाए जाएंगे तो वह बालू के ढेर हो जाएंगे।.
Ayah 21
إِنَّ Indeed, جَهَنَّمَ Hell كَانَتْ is مِرْصَادًا lying in wait,
English - Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait .
हिंदी - बेशक जहन्नम घात में है।.
Ayah 22
لِّلطَّٰغِينَ For the transgressors مَـَٔابًا a place of return,
English - For the transgressors, a place of return, .
हिंदी - सरकशों का ठिकाना है।.
Ayah 23
لَّٰبِثِينَ (They will) be remaining فِيهَآ therein أَحْقَابًا (for) ages.
English - In which they will remain for ages [unending]. .
हिंदी - जिसमें वह सालों साल पडे़ रहेंगे।.
Ayah 24
لَّا Not يَذُوقُونَ they will taste فِيهَا therein بَرْدًا coolness وَلَا and not شَرَابًا any drink,
English - They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink .
हिंदी - वहाँ न ठंडक का मज़ा मिलेगा और न पीने की कोई चीज़।.
Ayah 25
إِلَّا Except حَمِيمًا scalding water وَغَسَّاقًا and purulence,
English - Except scalding water and [foul] purulence – .
हिंदी - मगर गर्म पानी और बहती पीप।.
Ayah 26
جَزَآءً A recompense وِفَاقًا appropriate.
English - An appropriate recompense. .
हिंदी - पूरा पूरा बदला है।.
Ayah 27
إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they كَانُوا۟ were لَا not يَرْجُونَ expecting حِسَابًا an account,
English - Indeed, they were not expecting an account .
हिंदी - बेशक ये लोग हिसाब की उम्मीद नहीं रखते थे।.
Ayah 28
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ And they denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Signs كِذَّابًا (with) denial.
English - And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. .
हिंदी - और हमारी निशानियों को बिलकुल ही झुठला दिया था।.
Ayah 29
وَكُلَّ And every شَىْءٍ thing أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ We have enumerated it كِتَٰبًا (in) a Book.
English - But all things We have enumerated in writing. .
हिंदी - और हमने हर चीज़ को किताब में दर्ज कर रखा है।.
Ayah 30
فَذُوقُوا۟ So taste, فَلَن and never نَّزِيدَكُمْ We will increase you إِلَّا except عَذَابًا (in) punishment.
English - "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." .
हिंदी - तो मज़ा चखो, हम तो तुम पर सज़ा ही बढ़ाते जाएँगे।.
Ayah 31
إِنَّ Indeed, لِلْمُتَّقِينَ for the righteous مَفَازًا (is) success,
English - Indeed, for the righteous is attainment – .
हिंदी - यक़ीनन डर रखने वालों के लिए कामयाबी है।.
Ayah 32
حَدَآئِقَ Gardens وَأَعْنَٰبًا and grapevines,
English - Gardens and grapevines .
हिंदी - बाग़ और अंगूर।.
Ayah 33
وَكَوَاعِبَ And splendid companions أَتْرَابًا well-matched,
English - And full-breasted [companions] of equal age .
हिंदी - और नौजवान हम उम्र औरतें।.
Ayah 34
وَكَأْسًا And a cup دِهَاقًا full.
English - And a full cup. .
हिंदी - और लबालब जाम होंगे।.
Ayah 35
لَّا Not يَسْمَعُونَ they will hear فِيهَا therein لَغْوًا any vain talk وَلَا and not كِذَّٰبًا any falsehood,
English - No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood – .
हिंदी - उस में कोई बेहूदा और झूठी बात वह न सुनेंगे।.
Ayah 36
جَزَآءً (As) a reward مِّن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord, عَطَآءً a gift حِسَابًا (according to) account,
English - [As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account, .
हिंदी - यह तुम्हारे रब की तरफ़ से बदला है, हिसाब से दिया हुआ है।.
Ayah 37
رَّبِّ Lord ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَمَا and whatever بَيْنَهُمَا (is) between both of them ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ the Most Gracious, لَا not يَمْلِكُونَ they have power مِنْهُ from Him خِطَابًا (to) address.
English - [From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech. .
हिंदी - आसमान और ज़मीन का रब है और जो इन दोनो के बीच में है, वह रहमान जिसके सामने किसी को बोलने की ताक़त नहीं होगी।.
Ayah 38
يَوْمَ (The) Day يَقُومُ will stand ٱلرُّوحُ the Spirit وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ and the Angels صَفًّا (in) rows, لَّا not يَتَكَلَّمُونَ they will speak إِلَّا except مَنْ (one) who - أَذِنَ permits لَهُ [for] him ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ the Most Gracious, وَقَالَ and he (will) say صَوَابًا (what is) correct.
English - The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct. .
हिंदी - जिस दिन आत्मा और फरिश्ते पंक्ति में खड़े होंगे, उस दिन उससे कोई बात न कर सकेगा, मगर जिसे रहमान इजाज़त दे, और जो ठीक बात कहे।.
Ayah 39
ذَٰلِكَ That ٱلْيَوْمُ (is) the Day ٱلْحَقُّ the True. فَمَن So whoever شَآءَ wills ٱتَّخَذَ let him take إِلَىٰ towards رَبِّهِۦ his Lord مَـَٔابًا a return.
English - That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return. .
हिंदी - यह दिन सत्य है, तो जो कोई चाहे अपने रब के पास पलटने का मार्ग अपना ले ।.
Ayah 40
إِنَّآ Indeed We أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ [We] have warned you عَذَابًا (of) a punishment قَرِيبًا near يَوْمَ (the) Day يَنظُرُ will see ٱلْمَرْءُ the man مَا what قَدَّمَتْ have sent forth يَدَاهُ his hands وَيَقُولُ and will say ٱلْكَافِرُ the disbeliever, يَٰلَيْتَنِى "O I wish! كُنتُ I were تُرَٰبًۢا dust!"
English - Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!" .
हिंदी - बेशक हमने तुम्हें क़रीब आने वाले अज़ाब से डराया, जिस दिन आदमी अपने हाथों से भेजे हुए कर्मों को देखेगा और काफ़िर कहेगा ऐ काश मैं मिट्टी होता।.
