Ayah 1
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا O you ٱلْمُدَّثِّرُ who covers himself!
English - O you who covers himself [with a garment], .
हिंदी - एै लपेटने वाले।.
Ayah 2
قُمْ Stand up فَأَنذِرْ and warn,
English - Arise and warn .
हिंदी - उठो, सावधान करो।.
Ayah 3
وَرَبَّكَ And your Lord فَكَبِّرْ magnify,
English - And your Lord glorify .
हिंदी - और अपने रब की बड़ाई करो।.
Ayah 4
وَثِيَابَكَ And your clothing فَطَهِّرْ purify,
English - And your clothing purify .
हिंदी - और अपने कपडे़ पाक रखो।.
Ayah 5
وَٱلرُّجْزَ And uncleanliness فَٱهْجُرْ avoid,
English - And uncleanliness avoid .
हिंदी - और गन्दगी से अलग रहो।.
Ayah 6
وَلَا And (do) not تَمْنُن confer favor تَسْتَكْثِرُ (to) acquire more,
English - And do not confer favor to acquire more .
हिंदी - और एहसान न करो फा़एदा हासिल करने के लिए।.
Ayah 7
وَلِرَبِّكَ And for your Lord فَٱصْبِرْ be patient.
English - But for your Lord be patient. .
हिंदी - और अपने रब के लिए जमे रहो।.
Ayah 8
فَإِذَا Then when نُقِرَ is blown فِى in ٱلنَّاقُورِ the trumpet,
English - And when the trumpet is blown, .
हिंदी - फिर जब सूर फूँका जाएगा।.
Ayah 9
فَذَٰلِكَ That يَوْمَئِذٍ Day, يَوْمٌ (will be) a Day عَسِيرٌ difficult,
English - That Day will be a difficult day .
हिंदी - तो वह दिन बड़ा ही सख़्त दिन होगा ।.
Ayah 10
عَلَى For ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers - غَيْرُ not يَسِيرٍ easy.
English - For the disbelievers – not easy. .
हिंदी - काफ़िरों पर आसान न होगा ।.
Ayah 11
ذَرْنِى Leave Me وَمَنْ and whom خَلَقْتُ I created وَحِيدًا alone,
English - Leave Me with the one I created alone .
हिंदी - छोड़ दो मुझे और उसको जिसे मैं ने अकेला पैदा किया।.
Ayah 12
وَجَعَلْتُ And I granted لَهُۥ to him مَالًا wealth مَّمْدُودًا extensive,
English - And to whom I granted extensive wealth .
हिंदी - और उसे माल दिया बहुत ज़्यादा।.
Ayah 13
وَبَنِينَ And children شُهُودًا present,
English - And children present [with him] .
हिंदी - और उपस्थित रहने वाले बेटे।.
Ayah 14
وَمَهَّدتُّ And I spread لَهُۥ for him, تَمْهِيدًا ease.
English - And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. .
हिंदी - और उस के लिए हर चीज़ को आसान किया।.
Ayah 15
ثُمَّ Then يَطْمَعُ he desires أَنْ that أَزِيدَ I (should) add more.
English - Then he desires that I should add more. .
हिंदी - फिर वह लालच करता हैए कि और ज़्यादा दूँ।.
Ayah 16
كَلَّآ By no means! إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he كَانَ has been لِءَايَٰتِنَا to Our Verses عَنِيدًا stubborn.
English - No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. .
हिंदी - हरगिज़ नहीं ये तो मेरी आयतों का दुश्मन था।.
Ayah 17
سَأُرْهِقُهُۥ Soon I will cover Him صَعُودًا (with) a laborious punishment.
English - I will cover him with arduous torment. .
हिंदी - तो मैं उसे जल्द एक कठिन चढ़ाई चढ़वाऊँगा।.
Ayah 18
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he فَكَّرَ thought وَقَدَّرَ and plotted.
English - Indeed, he thought and deliberated. .
हिंदी - बेशक उसने सोचाए और अंदाज़ा लगाया।.
Ayah 19
فَقُتِلَ So may he be destroyed, كَيْفَ how قَدَّرَ he plotted!
English - So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. .
हिंदी - हलाक होए कैसा अंदाज़ा लगाया।.
Ayah 20
ثُمَّ Then قُتِلَ may he be destroyed, كَيْفَ how قَدَّرَ he plotted!
English - Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. .
हिंदी - फिर हलाक हो कैसा अंदाज़ा लगाया।.
Ayah 21
ثُمَّ Then نَظَرَ he looked;
English - Then he considered [again]; .
हिंदी - फिर उसने देखा।.
Ayah 22
ثُمَّ Then عَبَسَ he frowned وَبَسَرَ and scowled;
English - Then he frowned and scowled; .
हिंदी - फिर त्योरी चढ़ाई और मँुह बनाया ।.
Ayah 23
ثُمَّ Then أَدْبَرَ he turned back وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ and was proud,
English - Then he turned back and was arrogant .
हिंदी - फिर उस ने पीठ फेरी और घमंड किया।.
Ayah 24
فَقَالَ Then he said, إِنْ "Not هَٰذَآ (is) this إِلَّا but سِحْرٌ magic يُؤْثَرُ imitated.
English - And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. .
हिंदी - और कहाए श्ये बस एक जादू हैए जो पहले से चला आ रहा है।.
Ayah 25
إِنْ Not هَٰذَآ (is) this إِلَّا but قَوْلُ (the) word ٱلْبَشَرِ (of) a human being."
English - This is not but the word of a human being." .
हिंदी - यह तो इंसान की बात है।.
Ayah 26
سَأُصْلِيهِ Soon I will drive him سَقَرَ (into) Hell.
English - I will drive him into Saqar. .
हिंदी - मैं उसे सक़र में झोंक दूँगा।.
Ayah 27
وَمَآ And what أَدْرَىٰكَ can make you know مَا what سَقَرُ (is) Hell?
English - And what can make you know what is Saqar? .
हिंदी - और तुम क्या जानों की सक़र क्या है।.
Ayah 28
لَا Not تُبْقِى it lets remain وَلَا and not تَذَرُ it leaves,
English - It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], .
हिंदी - वह न बाक़ी रखेगी और न छोड़ेगी ।.
Ayah 29
لَوَّاحَةٌ Scorching لِّلْبَشَرِ the human (skin).
English - Blackening the skins. .
हिंदी - खाल को झुलसा देने वाली है।.
Ayah 30
عَلَيْهَا Over it تِسْعَةَ (are) nine- عَشَرَ -teen.
English - Over it are nineteen [angels]. .
हिंदी - उस पर उन्नीस हैं।.
Ayah 31
وَمَا And not جَعَلْنَآ We have made أَصْحَٰبَ keepers ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire إِلَّا except مَلَٰٓئِكَةً Angels. وَمَا And not جَعَلْنَا We have made عِدَّتَهُمْ their number إِلَّا except فِتْنَةً (as) a trial لِّلَّذِينَ for those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve - لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ that may be certain ٱلَّذِينَ those who أُوتُوا۟ were given ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Scripture وَيَزْدَادَ and may increase ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوٓا۟ believe إِيمَٰنًا (in) faith, وَلَا and not يَرْتَابَ may doubt ٱلَّذِينَ those who أُوتُوا۟ were given ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Scripture وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ and the believers, وَلِيَقُولَ and that may say ٱلَّذِينَ those فِى in قُلُوبِهِم their hearts مَّرَضٌ (is) a disease وَٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ and the disbelievers مَاذَآ "What أَرَادَ (does) intend ٱللَّهُ Allah بِهَٰذَا by this مَثَلًا example?" كَذَٰلِكَ Thus يُضِلُّ does let go astray ٱللَّهُ Allah مَن whom يَشَآءُ He wills وَيَهْدِى and guides مَن whom يَشَآءُ He wills. وَمَا And none يَعْلَمُ knows جُنُودَ (the) hosts رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord إِلَّا except هُوَ Him. وَمَا And not هِىَ it إِلَّا (is) but ذِكْرَىٰ a reminder لِلْبَشَرِ to (the) human beings.
English - And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve – that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. .
हिंदी - और हमने जहन्नम का निगेहबान तो बस फरिश्तों को बनाया है, और हम ने उन की गिनती सिर्फ़ काफ़िरों की आज़माइश के लिए रखी है, ताकि अहले किताब यक़ीन कर लें और मोमिनों का ईमान और ज़्यादा हो, और अहले किताब और मोमिन शक न करें, और जिन लोगों के दिलों में रोग है, वह और काफ़िर कहें “कया इरादा किया है अल्लाह ने इस मिसाल से” ? इसी तरह अल्लाह जिसे चाहता है, गुमराह करता है, और वह जिसे चाहता है हिदायत देता है, और तुम्हारे रब की सेनाओं को उसके सिवा कोई नहीं जानता, यह तो लोगों के लिए बस नसीहत है ।.
Ayah 32
كَلَّا Nay! وَٱلْقَمَرِ By the moon,
English - No! By the moon .
हिंदी - हरगिज़ नहीं, क़सम है, चाँद की।.
Ayah 33
وَٱلَّيْلِ And the night إِذْ when أَدْبَرَ it departs,
English - And [by] the night when it departs .
हिंदी - और रात की जब वह जाने लगे।.
Ayah 34
وَٱلصُّبْحِ And the morning إِذَآ when أَسْفَرَ it brightens,
English - And [by] the morning when it brightens, .
हिंदी - और सुबह की जब वह रौशन हो जाए।.
Ayah 35
إِنَّهَا Indeed, it لَإِحْدَى (is) surely one ٱلْكُبَرِ (of) the greatest,
English - Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] .
हिंदी - बेशक यह बड़ी चीज़ों में से एक है ।.
Ayah 36
نَذِيرًا A warning لِّلْبَشَرِ to (the) human being,
English - As a warning to humanity – .
हिंदी - लोगों को सावधान करने वाली है।.
Ayah 37
لِمَن To whoever شَآءَ wills مِنكُمْ among you أَن to يَتَقَدَّمَ proceed أَوْ or يَتَأَخَّرَ stay behind.
English - To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. .
हिंदी - तुम में से जो कोई चाहे आगे बढ़े या वह पीछे रहे ।.
Ayah 38
كُلُّ Every نَفْسٍۭ soul, بِمَا for what كَسَبَتْ it has earned, رَهِينَةٌ (is) pledged,
English - Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained .
हिंदी - हर आत्मा अपने कर्मों के बदले गिरवी रखी है।.
Ayah 39
إِلَّآ Except أَصْحَٰبَ (the) companions ٱلْيَمِينِ (of) the right,
English - Except the companions of the right, .
हिंदी - सिवाए दाएँ वालों के।.
Ayah 40
فِى In جَنَّٰتٍ Gardens, يَتَسَآءَلُونَ asking each other,
English - [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other .
हिंदी - बाग़ों में होंगेए वह पूछेंगे एक दूसरे से।.
Ayah 41
عَنِ About ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ the criminals,
English - About the criminals, .
हिंदी - गुनाहगारों के बारे में।.
Ayah 42
مَا "What سَلَكَكُمْ led you فِى into سَقَرَ Hell?"
English - [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" .
हिंदी - तुम्हें जहन्नम में क्या चीज़ ले गई।.
Ayah 43
قَالُوا۟ They will say, لَمْ "Not نَكُ we were مِنَ of ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ those who prayed,
English - They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, .
हिंदी - वह कहेंगे कि हम नमाज़ पढ़ने वालों में से न थे।.
Ayah 44
وَلَمْ And not نَكُ we used to نُطْعِمُ feed ٱلْمِسْكِينَ the poor,
English - Nor did we used to feed the poor. .
हिंदी - और हम मोहताजों को खाना नहीं खिलाते थे ।.
Ayah 45
وَكُنَّا And we used to نَخُوضُ indulge in vain talk مَعَ with ٱلْخَآئِضِينَ the vain talkers,
English - And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], .
हिंदी - और हम घुसने वालों के साथ घुस जाते थे।.
Ayah 46
وَكُنَّا And we used to نُكَذِّبُ deny بِيَوْمِ (the) Day ٱلدِّينِ (of) the Judgment,
English - And we used to deny the Day of Recompense .
हिंदी - और बदले के दिन को झुठलाया करते थे ।.
Ayah 47
حَتَّىٰٓ Until, أَتَىٰنَا came to us ٱلْيَقِينُ the certainty."
English - Until there came to us the certainty." .
हिंदी - यहाँ तक कि हम पर यक़ीनी चीज़ आ गयी ।.
Ayah 48
فَمَا Then not تَنفَعُهُمْ will benefit them شَفَٰعَةُ intercession ٱلشَّٰفِعِينَ (of) the intercessors.
English - So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. .
हिंदी - तो उन्हें सिफ़ारिश करने वालों की सिफ़ारिश कुछ काम न आएगी ।.
Ayah 49
فَمَا Then what لَهُمْ (is) for them, عَنِ (that) from ٱلتَّذْكِرَةِ the Reminder مُعْرِضِينَ they (are) turning away
English - Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away .
हिंदी - और उन्हें क्या हो गया है कि नसीहत से मुँह मोड़े हुए हैं।.
Ayah 50
كَأَنَّهُمْ As if they (were) حُمُرٌ donkeys مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ frightened,
English - As if they were alarmed donkeys .
हिंदी - जैेेसे की वह बिदके हुए गधे हैं।.
Ayah 51
فَرَّتْ Fleeing مِن from قَسْوَرَةٍۭ a lion?
English - Fleeing from a lion? .
हिंदी - जो शेर से भाग पडे़ हैं।.
Ayah 52
بَلْ Nay! يُرِيدُ Desires كُلُّ every ٱمْرِئٍ person مِّنْهُمْ of them أَن that يُؤْتَىٰ he may be given صُحُفًا pages مُّنَشَّرَةً spread out.
English - Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. .
हिंदी - उनमें से हर शख़्स चाहता है, कि उसे खुले हुए शास्त्र दिए जाएंे ।.
Ayah 53
كَلَّا Nay! بَل But لَّا not يَخَافُونَ they fear ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ the Hereafter.
English - No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. .
हिंदी - हरगिज़ नहीेंए बलकि वह आख़िरत से नहीं डरते हैं।.
Ayah 54
كَلَّآ Nay! إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, it تَذْكِرَةٌ (is) a Reminder.
English - No! Indeed, the Qur’an is a reminder .
हिंदी - हाँ हाँ बेशक ये क़ुरान नसीहत है।.
Ayah 55
فَمَن So whoever شَآءَ wills, ذَكَرَهُۥ (may) pay heed to it.
English - Then whoever wills will remember it. .
हिंदी - तो जो चाहे उसे याद रखे ।.
Ayah 56
وَمَا And not يَذْكُرُونَ will pay heed إِلَّآ except أَن that يَشَآءَ wills ٱللَّهُ Allah. هُوَ He أَهْلُ (is) worthy ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ to be feared, وَأَهْلُ and worthy ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ to forgive.
English - And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. .
हिंदी - और वह याद न रखेंगे मगर यह कि जो अल्लाह चाहेए वही है जिस से डरना चाहिऐ एऔर वही है माफ़ करने के लायक़।.
