Ayah 1
سَأَلَ Asked سَآئِلٌۢ a questioner بِعَذَابٍ about a punishment وَاقِعٍ bound to happen
English - A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen .
हिंदी - एक माँगने वाले ने घटित होने वाला अज़ाब माँगा।.
Ayah 2
لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ To the disbelievers, لَيْسَ not لَهُۥ of it دَافِعٌ any preventer.
English - To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer. .
हिंदी - काफ़िरों के लिएए कोई उस को रोक नहीं सकता।.
Ayah 3
مِّنَ From ٱللَّهِ Allah, ذِى Owner ٱلْمَعَارِجِ (of) the ways of ascent.
English - [It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent. .
हिंदी - उस अल्लाह की तरफ से है, जो चढ़ने वाले रास्तों का मालिक है।.
Ayah 4
تَعْرُجُ Ascend ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ the Angels وَٱلرُّوحُ and the Spirit إِلَيْهِ to Him فِى in يَوْمٍ a Day, كَانَ [is] مِقْدَارُهُۥ its measure خَمْسِينَ (is) fifty أَلْفَ thousand سَنَةٍ year(s).
English - The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years. .
हिंदी - जिस की तरफ़ फ़रिश्ते और रूह चढ़ेंगे, उस दिन जिस की मुददत पचास हज़ार साल की होगी।.
Ayah 5
فَٱصْبِرْ So be patient, صَبْرًا a patience جَمِيلًا good.
English - So be patient with gracious patience. .
हिंदी - तो अच्छी तरह सब्र करते रहो।.
Ayah 6
إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they يَرَوْنَهُۥ see it بَعِيدًا (as) far off.
English - Indeed, they see it [as] distant, .
हिंदी - ये लोग उसे दूर समझते हैं।.
Ayah 7
وَنَرَىٰهُ But We see it قَرِيبًا near.
English - But We see it [as] near. .
हिंदी - और हम उसे क़रीब देख रहे हैं।.
Ayah 8
يَوْمَ (The) Day - تَكُونُ will be ٱلسَّمَآءُ the sky كَٱلْمُهْلِ like molten copper,
English - On the Day the sky will be like murky oil, .
हिंदी - जिस दिन आसमान पिघली हुई चाँदी की तरह हो जाएगा ।.
Ayah 9
وَتَكُونُ And will be ٱلْجِبَالُ the mountains كَٱلْعِهْنِ like wool,
English - And the mountains will be like wool, .
हिंदी - और पहाड़ घुन्के हुए ऊन की तरह हो जाएगा।.
Ayah 10
وَلَا And not يَسْـَٔلُ will ask حَمِيمٌ a friend حَمِيمًا (about) a friend.
English - And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend, .
हिंदी - और कोई दोस्त किसी दोस्त को न पूछेगा।.
Ayah 11
يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْ They will be made to see each other. يَوَدُّ Would wish ٱلْمُجْرِمُ the criminal لَوْ if يَفْتَدِى he (could be) ransomed مِنْ from عَذَابِ (the) punishment يَوْمِئِذٍۭ (of) that Day بِبَنِيهِ by his children,
English - They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children .
हिंदी - वह एक दूसरे को देख रहे होंगे गुनाहगार आरज़ू करेगा कि काश उस दिन के आज़ाब के बदले उसके बेटों को वो फ़िदये में दे दे.
Ayah 12
وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ And his spouse وَأَخِيهِ and his brother,
English - And his wife and his brother .
हिंदी - और अपनी बीवी और अपना भाई,.
Ayah 13
وَفَصِيلَتِهِ And his nearest kindred ٱلَّتِى who تُـْٔوِيهِ sheltered him,
English - And his nearest kindred who shelter him .
हिंदी - और अपने परिवार को जिस में वह रहता था.
Ayah 14
وَمَن And whoever فِى (is) on ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth جَمِيعًا all, ثُمَّ then يُنجِيهِ it (could) save him.
English - And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him. .
हिंदी - और जितने आदमी ज़मीन पर हैंए सब को ले लो और उसको छुटकारा दिला दो।.
Ayah 15
كَلَّآ By no means! إِنَّهَا Indeed, it (is) لَظَىٰ surely a Flame of Hell,
English - No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell], .
हिंदी - हरगिज़ नहींए जहन्नम की वह भड़कती आग है।.
Ayah 16
نَزَّاعَةً A remover لِّلشَّوَىٰ of the skin of the head,
English - A remover of exteriors. .
हिंदी - खाल उधेड़ कर रख देगी।.
Ayah 17
تَدْعُوا۟ Inviting مَنْ (him) who أَدْبَرَ turned his back وَتَوَلَّىٰ and went away
English - It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience] .
हिंदी - यह पूकारेगी उस को जो पीठ फेरेगा, और मुँह मोड़ेगा।.
Ayah 18
وَجَمَعَ And collected فَأَوْعَىٰٓ and hoarded.
English - And collected [wealth] and hoarded. .
हिंदी - और माल को ज़मा किया और समेट समेट कर रखा।.
Ayah 19
إِنَّ Indeed, ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ the man خُلِقَ was created هَلُوعًا anxious -
English - Indeed, mankind was created anxious: .
हिंदी - बेशक इंसान बहुत कम हिम्मत पैदा किया गया है ।.
Ayah 20
إِذَا When مَسَّهُ touches him ٱلشَّرُّ the evil, جَزُوعًا distressed.
English - When evil touches him, impatient, .
हिंदी - जब उस पर मुसीबत आती है तो घबरा उठता है।.
Ayah 21
وَإِذَا And when مَسَّهُ touches him ٱلْخَيْرُ the good, مَنُوعًا withholding,
English - And when good touches him, withholding [of it], .
हिंदी - और जब उस को भलाई मिलती हैए तो कंजूस बन जाता है।.
Ayah 22
إِلَّا Except ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ those who pray -
English - Except the observers of prayer – .
हिंदी - सिवाए नमाज़ियों के।.
Ayah 23
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who هُمْ [they] عَلَىٰ at صَلَاتِهِمْ their prayer دَآئِمُونَ (are) constant,
English - Those who are constant in their prayer .
हिंदी - जो अपनी नमाज़ पर हमेंशा जमे रहते हैं।.
Ayah 24
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who فِىٓ in أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ their wealth حَقٌّ (is) a right مَّعْلُومٌ known,
English - And those within whose wealth is a known right .
हिंदी - और जिनके माल में एक उचित हिस्सा है ।.
Ayah 25
لِّلسَّآئِلِ For the one who asks وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ and the deprived,
English - For the petitioner and the deprived – .
हिंदी - माँगने वाले और वंचित के लिए।.
Ayah 26
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who يُصَدِّقُونَ accept (the) truth بِيَوْمِ (of the) Day ٱلدِّينِ (of) the Judgment,
English - And those who believe in the Day of Recompense .
हिंदी - और जो लोग बदले के दिन को सच मानते हैं।.
Ayah 27
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who هُم [they] مِّنْ of عَذَابِ (the) punishment رَبِّهِم (of) their Lord مُّشْفِقُونَ (are) fearful -
English - And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord – .
हिंदी - और जो लोग अपने रब के अज़ाब से डरते रहते हैं।.
Ayah 28
إِنَّ Indeed, عَذَابَ (the) punishment رَبِّهِمْ (of) your Lord غَيْرُ (is) not مَأْمُونٍ to be felt secure (of) -
English - Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe – .
हिंदी - यक़ीन्न उन के रब का अज़ाब बे फ़िकर रहने की चीज़ नहीं है।.
Ayah 29
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who هُمْ [they] لِفُرُوجِهِمْ their modesty حَٰفِظُونَ (are) guardians,
English - And those who guard their private parts .
हिंदी - और जो लोग अपनी शर्मगाहों की हिफ़ाज़त करते हैं ।.
Ayah 30
إِلَّا Except عَلَىٰٓ from أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ their spouses أَوْ or مَا what مَلَكَتْ they possess أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ rightfully فَإِنَّهُمْ then indeed, they غَيْرُ (are) not مَلُومِينَ blameworthy,
English - Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed – .
हिंदी - सिवाय अपनी बीवियों या अपनी लौन्डियोें के उन पर कोई दोष नहीं।.
Ayah 31
فَمَنِ But whoever ٱبْتَغَىٰ seeks وَرَآءَ beyond ذَٰلِكَ that, فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ then those هُمُ [they] ٱلْعَادُونَ (are) the transgressors -
English - But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors – .
हिंदी - लेकिन जो इसके अलावा कुछ और चाहें, यही लोग हद से बढ़ जाने वाले हैं।.
Ayah 32
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who هُمْ [they] لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ of their trusts وَعَهْدِهِمْ and their promise رَٰعُونَ (are) observers,
English - And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive .
हिंदी - और जो अपनी अमानतों और वादे का ख़याल रखते हैं।.
Ayah 33
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who هُم [they] بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمْ in their testimonies قَآئِمُونَ stand firm,
English - And those who are in their testimonies upright .
हिंदी - और जो अपनी गवाहियों पर क़ायम रहते हैं।.
Ayah 34
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who, هُمْ [they] عَلَىٰ on صَلَاتِهِمْ their prayer يُحَافِظُونَ keep a guard -
English - And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer: .
हिंदी - और जो लोग अपनी नमाज़ो का ख़याल रखतेे हैं।.
Ayah 35
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ Those فِى (will be) in جَنَّٰتٍ Gardens, مُّكْرَمُونَ honored.
English - They will be in gardens, honored. .
हिंदी - यही लोग जन्नत में इज़्ज़त से रहेंगे ।.
Ayah 36
فَمَالِ So what is with ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve, قِبَلَكَ before you مُهْطِعِينَ (they) hasten,
English - So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad], .
हिंदी - तो काफ़िरों को क्या हो गया हैए की वह दौडे़ चले आ रहे हैं।.
Ayah 37
عَنِ On ٱلْيَمِينِ the right وَعَنِ and on ٱلشِّمَالِ the left, عِزِينَ (in) separate groups?
English - [To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups? .
हिंदी - दाएँ और बाएँ से गिरोह के गिरोह ।.
Ayah 38
أَيَطْمَعُ Does long كُلُّ every ٱمْرِئٍ person, مِّنْهُمْ among them أَن that يُدْخَلَ he enters جَنَّةَ a Garden نَعِيمٍ (of) Delight?
English - Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure? .
हिंदी - क्या इनमें से हर एक यह लालच रखता है, कि वह नेमत भरी जन्नत में दाखिल कर दिया जाएगा ।.
Ayah 39
كَلَّآ By no means! إِنَّا Indeed, We خَلَقْنَٰهُم [We] have created them مِّمَّا from what يَعْلَمُونَ they know.
English - No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know. .
हिंदी - हरहगिज़ नहीं हम ने जिस चीज़ से उनको पैदा किया है, उसे ये जानते है।.
Ayah 40
فَلَآ But nay! أُقْسِمُ I swear بِرَبِّ by (the) Lord ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ (of) the risings وَٱلْمَغَٰرِبِ and the settings, إِنَّا that We لَقَٰدِرُونَ (are) surely Able
English - So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able .
हिंदी - तो मैं पूरबांे और पश्चिमों के परवरदिगार की क़सम खाता हूँए कि हम ज़रूर इस बात की ताक़त रखते हैं ।.
Ayah 41
عَلَىٰٓ [On] أَن to نُّبَدِّلَ [We] replace خَيْرًا (with) better مِّنْهُمْ than them; وَمَا and not نَحْنُ We بِمَسْبُوقِينَ (are) to be outrun.
English - To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone. .
हिंदी - कि इनकी जगह इनसे अच्छे लोग ले आऐं और कोई हम से बाज़ी ले जाने वाला नहीं है और हम पीछे रह जाने वाले नहीं हैं।.
Ayah 42
فَذَرْهُمْ So leave them يَخُوضُوا۟ (to) converse vainly وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ and amuse themselves حَتَّىٰ until يُلَٰقُوا۟ they meet يَوْمَهُمُ their Day, ٱلَّذِى which يُوعَدُونَ they are promised,
English - So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised – .
हिंदी - तो छोड़ दो उन को बेहूदगी के लिए और खेलने कूदने के लिए यहाँ तक कि वह अपने उस दिन से मिलें जिस का उन से वादा किया जाता है।.
Ayah 43
يَوْمَ (The) Day يَخْرُجُونَ they will come out مِنَ from ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ the graves سِرَاعًا rapidly كَأَنَّهُمْ as if they (were) إِلَىٰ to نُصُبٍ a goal يُوفِضُونَ hastening,
English - The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening. .
हिंदी - जिस दिन ये लोग क़ब्रों से निकल कर इस तरह दौडे़गे जैसे वह किसी लक्षय की तरफ़ दौड़े चले जा रहे हैं ।.
Ayah 44
خَٰشِعَةً Humbled أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ their eyesights, تَرْهَقُهُمْ will cover them ذِلَّةٌ humiliation. ذَٰلِكَ That ٱلْيَوْمُ (is) the Day ٱلَّذِى which كَانُوا۟ they were يُوعَدُونَ promised.
English - Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised. .
हिंदी - इनकी निगाहें झुकी हुई होंगी ज़िल्लत उन पर छा रही होगी यह वह दिन हैए जिसका इन से वादा किया गया था।.
