Ayah 1
الٓمٓصٓ Alif Laam Meem Saad.
English - Alif, Lam, Meem, Sad. .
हिंदी - अलिफ़ लाम मीम सॉद।.
Ayah 2
كِتَٰبٌ (This is) a Book أُنزِلَ revealed إِلَيْكَ to you فَلَا so (let) not يَكُن be فِى in صَدْرِكَ your breast حَرَجٌ any uneasiness مِّنْهُ from it لِتُنذِرَ that you warn بِهِۦ with it, وَذِكْرَىٰ and a reminder لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ for the believers.
English - [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] – so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom – that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. .
हिंदी - एक किताब तुम पर नाज़िल की गई है ताकि तुम उसके ज़रिये से ख़बरदार करो तो तुम्हारे दिल में उसकी वजह से कोई तंगी पैदा न हो और ईमानदारों के लिए नसीहत है।.
Ayah 3
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ Follow مَآ what أُنزِلَ has been revealed إِلَيْكُم to you مِّن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord, وَلَا and (do) not تَتَّبِعُوا۟ follow مِن from دُونِهِۦٓ beside Him أَوْلِيَآءَ any allies. قَلِيلًا Little مَّا (is) what تَذَكَّرُونَ you remember.
English - Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. .
हिंदी - जो तुम्हारे पालनहार की तरफ़ से तुम पर नाज़िल किया गया है उसकी पैरवी करो और उसके सिवा दूसरे मददगारों की पैरवी न करो तुम लोग बहुत ही कम नसीहत क़ुबूल करते हो ।.
Ayah 4
وَكَم And how many مِّن of قَرْيَةٍ a city أَهْلَكْنَٰهَا We destroyed it, فَجَآءَهَا and came to it بَأْسُنَا Our punishment بَيَٰتًا (at) night أَوْ or هُمْ (while) they قَآئِلُونَ were sleeping at noon.
English - And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. .
हिंदी - और ऐसी कितनी बस्तियाँ हैं जिन्हें हमने हलाक कर डाला तो हमारा अज़ाब उन पर रात के वक़्त आ पहुंचा या वह दिन में आराम कर रहे थे।.
Ayah 5
فَمَا Then not كَانَ was دَعْوَىٰهُمْ their plea إِذْ when جَآءَهُم came to them بَأْسُنَآ Our punishment إِلَّآ except أَن that قَالُوٓا۟ they said, إِنَّا "Indeed, we كُنَّا were ظَٰلِمِينَ wrongdoers."
English - And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" .
हिंदी - जब हमारा अज़ाब उन पर आ पड़ा तो उनकी पुकार नहीं थी सिवाए इसके कि उन्होंने कहा कि हम ही ज़्ाुल्म करने वाले थे।.
Ayah 6
فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ Then surely We will question ٱلَّذِينَ those (to) whom أُرْسِلَ were sent إِلَيْهِمْ to them (Messengers), وَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ and surely We will question ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers.
English - Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. .
हिंदी - फिर हम ज़रूर उन लोगों से जिनकी तरफ़ रसूल भेजे गए थे सवाल करेंगे और हम रसूलों से भी ज़रूर पूछंेगे।.
Ayah 7
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ Then surely We will narrate عَلَيْهِم to them بِعِلْمٍ with knowledge, وَمَا and not كُنَّا were We غَآئِبِينَ absent.
English - Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. .
हिंदी - फिर हम इल्म से उन्हें बताएंगे और हम ग़ायब तो थे नहीं।.
Ayah 8
وَٱلْوَزْنُ And the weighing يَوْمَئِذٍ that day ٱلْحَقُّ (will be) the truth. فَمَن So whose - ثَقُلَتْ (will be) heavy مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ his scales, فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ then those هُمُ [they] ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ (will be) the successful ones.
English - And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy – it is they who will be the successful. .
हिंदी - और उस दिन वज़्ान ठीक ठाक होगा तो जिनके पल्ले भारी हांेगे तो वही लोग कामयाब हैं।.
Ayah 9
وَمَنْ And (for) those خَفَّتْ (will be) light مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ his scales, فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ so those ٱلَّذِينَ (will be) the ones who خَسِرُوٓا۟ lost, أَنفُسَهُم themselves بِمَا because كَانُوا۟ they were بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا to Our Verses يَظْلِمُونَ (doing) injustice.
English - And those whose scales are light – they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. .
हिंदी - और जिनके पल्ले हलके होंगे तो उन्हीं लोगों ने अपना नुक़सान किया इस वजह से कि वह हमारी आयतों के साथ ज़ुल्म करते थे।.
Ayah 10
وَلَقَدْ And certainly مَكَّنَّٰكُمْ We established you فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth وَجَعَلْنَا and We made لَكُمْ for you فِيهَا in it مَعَٰيِشَ livelihood. قَلِيلًا Little مَّا (is) what تَشْكُرُونَ you (are) grateful.
English - And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. .
हिंदी - और हमने यक़ीनन तुम्हें ज़मीन में क़ादिर बनाया और उस में तुम्हारे लिए रोज़्ागार का जरिया बनाया। बहुत ही कम तुम शुक्र अदा करते हो।.
Ayah 11
وَلَقَدْ And certainly خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ We created you ثُمَّ then صَوَّرْنَٰكُمْ We fashioned you. ثُمَّ Then قُلْنَا We said لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ to the Angels, ٱسْجُدُوا۟ "Prostrate لِءَادَمَ to Adam," فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ So they prostrated, إِلَّآ except إِبْلِيسَ Iblis. لَمْ Not يَكُن he was مِّنَ of ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ those who prostrated.
English - And We have certainly created you, [O Mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was not of those who prostrated. .
हिंदी - और यक़ीनन हमने तुम्हें पैदा किया फिर तुम्हारी सूरतंे बनाईं फिर हम नें फ़रिश्तों से कहा कि आदम को सजदा करो तो सब के सब झुक पड़े मगर शैतान कि वह सजदा करने वालों में शामिल न हुआ।.
Ayah 12
قَالَ (Allah) said, مَا "What مَنَعَكَ prevented you أَلَّا that not تَسْجُدَ you prostrate إِذْ when أَمَرْتُكَ I commanded you?" قَالَ (Shaitaan) said, أَنَا۠ "I am خَيْرٌ better مِّنْهُ than him. خَلَقْتَنِى You created me مِن from نَّارٍ fire وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ and You created him مِن from طِينٍ clay."
English - [Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay." .
हिंदी - उस ने फ़रमाया जब मैनें तुझे हुक्म दे दिया तू तुझे सजदा करने से किस चीज़्ा ने रोका तो कहने लगा कि मैं उससे बेहतर हूँ, तूने मुझे आग से पैदा किया और उसे मिट्टी से पैदा किया।.
Ayah 13
قَالَ (Allah) said, فَٱهْبِطْ "Then go down مِنْهَا from it, فَمَا for not يَكُونُ it is لَكَ for you أَن that تَتَكَبَّرَ you be arrogant فِيهَا in it. فَٱخْرُجْ So get out; إِنَّكَ indeed, you مِنَ (are) of ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ the disgraced ones."
English - [Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise, for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased. .
हिंदी - उस ने फ़रमाया तो इस से नीचे उतर जाओ कि तेरे लिए नहीं कि तू इस में रहकर ग़ुरूर करे तो निकल जा, बेशक तू ज़लील लोगों में से है।.
Ayah 14
قَالَ (Shaitaan) said, أَنظِرْنِىٓ "Give me respite إِلَىٰ till يَوْمِ (the) Day يُبْعَثُونَ they are raised up."
English - [Satan] said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." .
हिंदी - उस ने कहा मुझे उस दिन तक की मोहलत दे दे जिस दिन लोग दुबारा उठाए जाएंगे।.
Ayah 15
قَالَ (Allah) said, إِنَّكَ "Indeed, you مِنَ (are) of ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ the ones given respite."
English - [Allah] said, "Indeed, you are of those reprieved." .
हिंदी - उस ने फ़रमाया कि तुझे मोहलत दी गई।.
Ayah 16
قَالَ (Shaitaan) said, فَبِمَآ "Because أَغْوَيْتَنِى You have sent me astray, لَأَقْعُدَنَّ surely I will sit لَهُمْ for them صِرَٰطَكَ (on) Your path, ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ the straight.
English - [Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path. .
हिंदी - कहने लगा कि जैसे तूने मुझे गुमराह किया तो मैं भी तेरी सीधी राह पर उनके लिए ताक में जरूर बैठूंगा।.
Ayah 17
ثُمَّ Then لَءَاتِيَنَّهُم surely, I will come to them مِّنۢ from بَيْنِ before أَيْدِيهِمْ them وَمِنْ and from خَلْفِهِمْ behind them وَعَنْ and from أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ their right وَعَن and from شَمَآئِلِهِمْ their left, وَلَا and not تَجِدُ You (will) find أَكْثَرَهُمْ most of them شَٰكِرِينَ grateful."
English - Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]." .
हिंदी - फिर उन लोगों के पास आऊंगा उनके सामने से और उनके पीछे से और उनके दाहिने से और उनके बाएं से और तू उन में से बहुतों को शुक्र करने वाला नहीं पाएगा।.
Ayah 18
قَالَ (Allah) said, ٱخْرُجْ "Get out مِنْهَا of it مَذْءُومًا disgraced مَّدْحُورًا and expelled. لَّمَن Certainly, whoever تَبِعَكَ follows you مِنْهُمْ among them, لَأَمْلَأَنَّ surely, I will fill جَهَنَّمَ Hell مِنكُمْ with you أَجْمَعِينَ all.
English - [Allah] said, "Get out of Paradise, reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them – I will surely fill Hell with you, all together." .
हिंदी - उस ने फ़रमाया यहाँ से ज़लील, धुतकारा हूआ निकल जा, उन लोगों में से जो तेरा कहा मानेगा तो मैं यक़ीनन तुम सबसे जहन्नम को भर दूंगा।.
Ayah 19
وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُ And O Adam! ٱسْكُنْ Dwell, أَنتَ you وَزَوْجُكَ and your wife, ٱلْجَنَّةَ (in) the Garden, فَكُلَا and you both eat مِنْ from حَيْثُ wherever شِئْتُمَا you both wish, وَلَا but (do) not تَقْرَبَا approach [both of you] هَٰذِهِ this ٱلشَّجَرَةَ [the] tree فَتَكُونَا lest you both be مِنَ among ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers."
English - And "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers." .
हिंदी - और ऐ आदम तुम और तुम्हारी बीबी जन्नत में रहो तो जहाँ से चाहो खाओ और इस पेड़ के क़रीब न जाना वरना तुम ज़ालिमों में से हो जाओगे।.
Ayah 20
فَوَسْوَسَ Then whispered لَهُمَا to both of them ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ the Shaitaan لِيُبْدِىَ to make apparent لَهُمَا to both of them مَا what وُۥرِىَ was concealed عَنْهُمَا from both of them مِن of سَوْءَٰتِهِمَا their shame. وَقَالَ And he said, مَا "(Did) not نَهَىٰكُمَا forbid you both رَبُّكُمَا your Lord عَنْ from هَٰذِهِ this ٱلشَّجَرَةِ [the] tree إِلَّآ except أَن that تَكُونَا you two become مَلَكَيْنِ Angels أَوْ or تَكُونَا you two become مِنَ of ٱلْخَٰلِدِينَ the immortals."
English - But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal." .
हिंदी - फिर शैतान ने उन दोनों को वसवसा डाला ताकि उनके लिए वह जाहिर कर दे जो उनसे छुपा दिया गया था उनकी शर्मगाह में से। कहने लगा कि तुम्हारे रब ने तुम दोनों को इस पेड़ से सिर्फ़ इसलिए मना किया है कि तुम दोनों फरिश्ते बन जाओ या हमेशा जिंदा रहने वाले।.
Ayah 21
وَقَاسَمَهُمَآ And he swore (to) both of them, إِنِّى "Indeed, I am لَكُمَا to both of you لَمِنَ among ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ the sincere advisors."
English - And he swore [by Allah] to them, "Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 22
فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا So he made both of them fall بِغُرُورٍ by deception. فَلَمَّا Then when ذَاقَا they both tasted ٱلشَّجَرَةَ the tree, بَدَتْ became apparent لَهُمَا to both of them سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا their shame, وَطَفِقَا and they began يَخْصِفَانِ (to) fasten عَلَيْهِمَا over themselves مِن from وَرَقِ (the) leaves ٱلْجَنَّةِ (of) the Garden. وَنَادَىٰهُمَا And called them both رَبُّهُمَآ their Lord, أَلَمْ "Did not أَنْهَكُمَا I forbid you both عَن from تِلْكُمَا this ٱلشَّجَرَةِ [the] tree وَأَقُل and [I] say لَّكُمَآ to both of you, إِنَّ that ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ [the] Shaitaan لَكُمَا to both of you عَدُوٌّ (is) an enemy, مُّبِينٌ open?"
English - So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?" .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 23
قَالَا Both of them said, رَبَّنَا "Our Lord ظَلَمْنَآ we have wronged أَنفُسَنَا ourselves, وَإِن and if لَّمْ not تَغْفِرْ You forgive لَنَا [for] us وَتَرْحَمْنَا and have mercy (on) us, لَنَكُونَنَّ surely, we will be مِنَ among ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ the losers."
English - They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 24
قَالَ (Allah) said, ٱهْبِطُوا۟ "Get down بَعْضُكُمْ some of you لِبَعْضٍ to some others عَدُوٌّ (as) enemy. وَلَكُمْ And for you فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth مُسْتَقَرٌّ (is) a dwelling place وَمَتَٰعٌ and livelihood إِلَىٰ for حِينٍ a time."
English - [Allah] said, "Descend, being to one another enemies. And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 25
قَالَ He said, فِيهَا "In it تَحْيَوْنَ you will live وَفِيهَا and in it تَمُوتُونَ you will die وَمِنْهَا and from it تُخْرَجُونَ you will be brought forth."
English - He said, "Therein you will live, and therein you will die, and from it you will be brought forth." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 26
يَٰبَنِىٓ O Children ءَادَمَ (of) Adam! قَدْ Verily أَنزَلْنَا We have sent down عَلَيْكُمْ to you لِبَاسًا clothing, يُوَٰرِى it covers سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ your shame وَرِيشًا and (as) an adornment. وَلِبَاسُ But the clothing ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ (of) [the] righteousness - ذَٰلِكَ that خَيْرٌ (is) best. ذَٰلِكَ That مِنْ (is) from ءَايَٰتِ (the) Signs ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَذَّكَّرُونَ remember.
English - O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness – that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 27
يَٰبَنِىٓ O Children ءَادَمَ (of) Adam! لَا (Let) not يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ tempt you ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ [the] Shaitaan كَمَآ as أَخْرَجَ he drove out أَبَوَيْكُم your parents مِّنَ from ٱلْجَنَّةِ Paradise, يَنزِعُ stripping عَنْهُمَا from both of them لِبَاسَهُمَا their clothing لِيُرِيَهُمَا to show both of them سَوْءَٰتِهِمَآ their shame. إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he يَرَىٰكُمْ sees you - هُوَ he وَقَبِيلُهُۥ and his tribe مِنْ from حَيْثُ where لَا not تَرَوْنَهُمْ you see them. إِنَّا Indeed, جَعَلْنَا We have made ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ the devils أَوْلِيَآءَ friends لِلَّذِينَ of those who لَا (do) not يُؤْمِنُونَ believe.
English - O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts. Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 28
وَإِذَا And when فَعَلُوا۟ they do فَٰحِشَةً immorality قَالُوا۟ they say, وَجَدْنَا "We found عَلَيْهَآ on it ءَابَآءَنَا our forefathers وَٱللَّهُ and Allah أَمَرَنَا (has) ordered us بِهَا of it." قُلْ Say, إِنَّ "Indeed, ٱللَّهَ Allah لَا (does) not يَأْمُرُ order بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ immorality. أَتَقُولُونَ Do you say عَلَى about ٱللَّهِ Allah مَا what لَا not تَعْلَمُونَ you know?"
English - And when they commit an immorality, they say, "We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has ordered us to do it." Say, "Indeed, Allah does not order immorality. Do you say about Allah that which you do not know?" .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 29
قُلْ Say, أَمَرَ "(Has been) ordered رَبِّى (by) my Lord, بِٱلْقِسْطِ justice وَأَقِيمُوا۟ and set وُجُوهَكُمْ your faces عِندَ at كُلِّ every مَسْجِدٍ masjid وَٱدْعُوهُ and invoke Him مُخْلِصِينَ (being) sincere لَهُ to Him ٱلدِّينَ (in) the religion. كَمَا As بَدَأَكُمْ He originated you تَعُودُونَ (so) will you return."
English - Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord has ordered justice and that you maintain yourselves [in worship of Him] at every place [or time] of prostration, and invoke Him, sincere to Him in religion." Just as He originated you, you will return [to life] - .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 30
فَرِيقًا A group هَدَىٰ He guided وَفَرِيقًا and a group حَقَّ deserved - عَلَيْهِمُ [on] they ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُ the astraying. إِنَّهُمُ Indeed, they ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ take ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ the devils أَوْلِيَآءَ (as) allies مِن from دُونِ besides ٱللَّهِ Allah وَيَحْسَبُونَ while they think أَنَّهُم that they مُّهْتَدُونَ (are the) guided-ones.
English - A group [of you] He guided, and a group deserved [to be in] error. Indeed, they had taken the devils as allies instead of Allah while they thought that they were guided. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 31
يَٰبَنِىٓ O Children ءَادَمَ (of) Adam! خُذُوا۟ Take زِينَتَكُمْ your adornment عِندَ at كُلِّ every مَسْجِدٍ masjid, وَكُلُوا۟ and eat وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ and drink وَلَا but (do) not تُسْرِفُوٓا۟ be extravagant. إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He لَا (does) not يُحِبُّ love ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ the extravagant ones.
English - O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 32
قُلْ Say, مَنْ "Who حَرَّمَ has forbidden زِينَةَ (the) adornment ٱللَّهِ (from) Allah ٱلَّتِىٓ which أَخْرَجَ He has brought forth لِعِبَادِهِۦ for His slaves, وَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ and the pure things مِنَ of ٱلرِّزْقِ sustenance?" قُلْ Say, هِىَ "They لِلَّذِينَ (are) for those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe فِى during ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world, خَالِصَةً exclusively (for them) يَوْمَ (on the) Day ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ (of) Resurrection. كَذَٰلِكَ Thus نُفَصِّلُ We explain ٱلْءَايَٰتِ the Signs لِقَوْمٍ for (the) people يَعْلَمُونَ who know."
English - Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?" Say, "They are for those who believe during the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection." Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 33
قُلْ Say, إِنَّمَا "Only حَرَّمَ (had) forbidden رَبِّىَ my Lord ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ the shameful deeds مَا what ظَهَرَ (is) apparent مِنْهَا of it وَمَا and what بَطَنَ is concealed, وَٱلْإِثْمَ and the sin, وَٱلْبَغْىَ and the oppression بِغَيْرِ without ٱلْحَقِّ [the] right, وَأَن and that تُشْرِكُوا۟ you associate (others) بِٱللَّهِ with Allah مَا what لَمْ not يُنَزِّلْ He (has) sent down بِهِۦ of it سُلْطَٰنًا any authority, وَأَن and that تَقُولُوا۟ you say عَلَى about ٱللَّهِ Allah مَا what لَا not تَعْلَمُونَ you know."
English - Say, "My Lord has only forbidden immoralities – what is apparent of them and what is concealed – and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 34
وَلِكُلِّ And for every أُمَّةٍ nation أَجَلٌ (is a fixed) term. فَإِذَا So when جَآءَ comes أَجَلُهُمْ their term, لَا (they can) not يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ seek to delay سَاعَةً an hour, وَلَا and not يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ seek to advance (it).
English - And for every nation is a [specified] term. So when their time has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 35
يَٰبَنِىٓ O Children ءَادَمَ (of) Adam! إِمَّا If يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ come to you رُسُلٌ Messengers مِّنكُمْ from you يَقُصُّونَ relating عَلَيْكُمْ to you ءَايَٰتِى My Verses, فَمَنِ then whoever ٱتَّقَىٰ fears Allah, وَأَصْلَحَ and reforms, فَلَا then no خَوْفٌ fear عَلَيْهِمْ on them وَلَا and not هُمْ they يَحْزَنُونَ will grieve.
English - O children of Adam, if there come to you messengers from among you relating to you My verses, then whoever fears Allah and reforms – there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 36
وَٱلَّذِينَ But those who كَذَّبُوا۟ deny بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Verses وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ and (are) arrogant عَنْهَآ towards them أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ those أَصْحَٰبُ (are the) companions ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire, هُمْ they فِيهَا in it خَٰلِدُونَ will abide forever.
English - But the ones who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them – those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 37
فَمَنْ Then who أَظْلَمُ (is) more unjust مِمَّنِ than (one) who ٱفْتَرَىٰ invented عَلَى against ٱللَّهِ Allah كَذِبًا a lie أَوْ or كَذَّبَ denies بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ His Verses? أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ Those - يَنَالُهُمْ will reach them نَصِيبُهُم their portion مِّنَ from ٱلْكِتَٰبِ the Book, حَتَّىٰٓ until إِذَا when جَآءَتْهُمْ comes to them رُسُلُنَا Our messengers (Angels) يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ (to) take them in death قَالُوٓا۟ they say, أَيْنَ "Where are مَا those (whom) كُنتُمْ you used to تَدْعُونَ invoke مِن from دُونِ besides ٱللَّهِ Allah?" قَالُوا۟ They say, ضَلُّوا۟ "They strayed عَنَّا from us," وَشَهِدُوا۟ and they (will) testify عَلَىٰٓ against أَنفُسِهِمْ themselves أَنَّهُمْ that they كَانُوا۟ were كَٰفِرِينَ disbelievers.
English - And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie or denies His verses? Those will attain their portion of the decree until when Our messengers come to them to take them in death, they will say, "Where are those you used to invoke besides Allah?" They will say, "They have departed from us," and will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers. .

Ayah 38
قَالَ He (will) say, ٱدْخُلُوا۟ "Enter فِىٓ among أُمَمٍ (the) nations قَدْ (who) خَلَتْ passed away مِن from قَبْلِكُم before you مِّنَ of ٱلْجِنِّ the jinn وَٱلْإِنسِ and the men فِى in ٱلنَّارِ the Fire." كُلَّمَا Every time دَخَلَتْ entered أُمَّةٌ a nation لَّعَنَتْ it cursed أُخْتَهَا its sister (nation) حَتَّىٰٓ until إِذَا when ٱدَّارَكُوا۟ they had overtaken one another فِيهَا in it جَمِيعًا all, قَالَتْ (will) say أُخْرَىٰهُمْ (the) last of them لِأُولَىٰهُمْ about the first of them, رَبَّنَا "Our Lord, هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ these أَضَلُّونَا misled us فَـَٔاتِهِمْ so give them عَذَابًا punishment, ضِعْفًا double, مِّنَ of ٱلنَّارِ the Fire." قَالَ He (will) say, لِكُلٍّ "For each ضِعْفٌ (is) a double وَلَٰكِن [and] but لَّا not تَعْلَمُونَ you know."
English - [Allah] will say, "Enter among nations which had passed on before you of jinn and mankind into the Fire." Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them "Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire. He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know." .

Ayah 39
وَقَالَتْ And (will) say أُولَىٰهُمْ (the) first of them لِأُخْرَىٰهُمْ to (the) last of them, فَمَا "Then not كَانَ is لَكُمْ for you عَلَيْنَا upon us مِن any فَضْلٍ superiority, فَذُوقُوا۟ so taste ٱلْعَذَابَ the punishment بِمَا for what كُنتُمْ you used to تَكْسِبُونَ earn."
English - And the first of them will say to the last of them, "Then you had not any favor over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 40
إِنَّ Indeed, ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Verses وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ and (were) arrogant عَنْهَا towards them, لَا (will) not تُفَتَّحُ be opened لَهُمْ for them أَبْوَٰبُ (the) doors ٱلسَّمَآءِ (of) the heaven, وَلَا and not يَدْخُلُونَ they will enter ٱلْجَنَّةَ Paradise حَتَّىٰ until يَلِجَ passes ٱلْجَمَلُ the camel فِى through سَمِّ (the) eye ٱلْخِيَاطِ (of) the needle. وَكَذَٰلِكَ And thus نَجْزِى We recompense ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ the criminals.
English - Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them – the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 41
لَهُم For them مِّن of جَهَنَّمَ (the) Hell مِهَادٌ (is) a bed وَمِن and from فَوْقِهِمْ over them غَوَاشٍ coverings. وَكَذَٰلِكَ And thus نَجْزِى We recompense ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers.
English - They will have from Hell a bed and over them coverings [of fire]. And thus do We recompense the wrongdoers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 42
وَٱلَّذِينَ But those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ [the] righteous deeds لَا not نُكَلِّفُ We burden نَفْسًا any soul إِلَّا except وُسْعَهَآ (to) its capacity. أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ Those أَصْحَٰبُ (are the) companions ٱلْجَنَّةِ (of) Paradise, هُمْ they فِيهَا in it خَٰلِدُونَ (will) abide forever.
English - But those who believed and did righteous deeds – We charge no soul except [within] its capacity. Those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 43
وَنَزَعْنَا And We will remove مَا whatever فِى (is) in صُدُورِهِم their breasts مِّنْ of غِلٍّ malice. تَجْرِى Flows مِن from تَحْتِهِمُ underneath them ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ the rivers. وَقَالُوا۟ And they will say, ٱلْحَمْدُ "All the praise لِلَّهِ (is) for Allah, ٱلَّذِى the One Who هَدَىٰنَا guided us لِهَٰذَا to this, وَمَا and not كُنَّا we were لِنَهْتَدِىَ to receive guidance لَوْلَآ if not أَنْ [that] هَدَىٰنَا (had) guided us ٱللَّهُ Allah. لَقَدْ Certainly, جَآءَتْ came رُسُلُ Messengers رَبِّنَا (of) our Lord بِٱلْحَقِّ with the truth." وَنُودُوٓا۟ And they will be addressed, أَن [that] تِلْكُمُ "This ٱلْجَنَّةُ (is) Paradise, أُورِثْتُمُوهَا you have been made to inherit it بِمَا for what كُنتُمْ you used to تَعْمَلُونَ do."
English - And We will have removed whatever is within their breasts of resentment, [while] flowing beneath them are rivers. And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us. Certainly the messengers of our Lord had come with the truth." And they will be called, "This is Paradise, which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do." .

Ayah 44
وَنَادَىٰٓ And will call out أَصْحَٰبُ (the) companions ٱلْجَنَّةِ (of) Paradise أَصْحَٰبَ (to the) companions ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire أَن that, قَدْ "Indeed, وَجَدْنَا we found مَا what وَعَدَنَا (had) promised us رَبُّنَا our Lord حَقًّا true. فَهَلْ So have وَجَدتُّم you found مَّا what وَعَدَ (was) promised رَبُّكُمْ (by) your Lord حَقًّا (to be) true?" قَالُوا۟ They will say, نَعَمْ "Yes." فَأَذَّنَ Then will announce مُؤَذِّنٌۢ an announcer بَيْنَهُمْ among them, أَن [that] لَّعْنَةُ "(The) curse ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah عَلَى (is) on ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers,
English - And the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire, "We have already found what our Lord promised us to be true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?" They will say, "Yes." Then an announcer will announce among them, "The curse of Allah shall be upon the wrongdoers." .

Ayah 45
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who يَصُدُّونَ hinder عَن from سَبِيلِ (the) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَيَبْغُونَهَا and seek in it عِوَجًا crookedness وَهُم while they (are) بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ concerning the Hereafter, كَٰفِرُونَ disbelievers."
English - Who averted [people] from the way of Allah and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they were, concerning the Hereafter, disbelievers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 46
وَبَيْنَهُمَا And between them حِجَابٌ (will be) a partition, وَعَلَى and on ٱلْأَعْرَافِ the heights رِجَالٌ (will be) men يَعْرِفُونَ recognizing كُلًّۢا all بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ by their marks. وَنَادَوْا۟ And they will call out أَصْحَٰبَ (to the) companions ٱلْجَنَّةِ (of) Paradise أَن that سَلَٰمٌ "Peace عَلَيْكُمْ (be) upon you." لَمْ Not يَدْخُلُوهَا they have entered it وَهُمْ but they يَطْمَعُونَ hope.
English - And between them will be a partition, and on [its] elevations are men who recognize all by their mark. And they call out to the companions of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They have not [yet] entered it, but they long intensely. .

Ayah 47
وَإِذَا And when صُرِفَتْ are turned أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ their eyes تِلْقَآءَ towards أَصْحَٰبِ (the) companions ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire, قَالُوا۟ they (will) say, رَبَّنَا "Our Lord! لَا (Do) not تَجْعَلْنَا place us مَعَ with ٱلْقَوْمِ the people - ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers."
English - And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 48
وَنَادَىٰٓ And (will) call out أَصْحَٰبُ (the) companions ٱلْأَعْرَافِ (of) the heights رِجَالًا (to) men يَعْرِفُونَهُم whom they recognize بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ by their marks قَالُوا۟ saying, مَآ "Not أَغْنَىٰ (has) availed عَنكُمْ [to] you جَمْعُكُمْ your gathering وَمَا and what كُنتُمْ you were تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ arrogant (about)."
English - And the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark, saying, "Of no avail to you was your gathering and [the fact] that you were arrogant." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 49
أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ Are these ٱلَّذِينَ the ones whom أَقْسَمْتُمْ you had sworn لَا (that) not يَنَالُهُمُ (will) grant them ٱللَّهُ Allah بِرَحْمَةٍ Mercy? ٱدْخُلُوا۟ "Enter ٱلْجَنَّةَ Paradise. لَا (There will be) no خَوْفٌ fear عَلَيْكُمْ upon you وَلَآ and not أَنتُمْ you تَحْزَنُونَ will grieve."
English - [Allah will say], "Are these the ones whom you [inhabitants of Hell] swore that Allah would never offer them mercy? Enter Paradise, [O People of the Elevations]. No fear will there be concerning you, nor will you grieve." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 50
وَنَادَىٰٓ And (will) call out أَصْحَٰبُ (the) companions ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire أَصْحَٰبَ (to the) companions ٱلْجَنَّةِ (of) Paradise أَنْ [that], أَفِيضُوا۟ "Pour عَلَيْنَا upon us مِنَ [of] ٱلْمَآءِ (some) water أَوْ or مِمَّا of what رَزَقَكُمُ (has been) provided (to) you ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah." قَالُوٓا۟ They (will) say, إِنَّ "Indeed, ٱللَّهَ Allah حَرَّمَهُمَا has forbidden both عَلَى to ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers,
English - And the companions of the Fire will call to the companions of Paradise, "Pour upon us some water or from whatever Allah has provided you." They will say, "Indeed, Allah has forbidden them both to the disbelievers." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 51
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ took دِينَهُمْ their religion لَهْوًا (as) an amusement وَلَعِبًا and play وَغَرَّتْهُمُ and deluded them ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world." فَٱلْيَوْمَ So today نَنسَىٰهُمْ We forget them كَمَا as نَسُوا۟ they forgot لِقَآءَ (the) meeting يَوْمِهِمْ (of) their day, هَٰذَا this, وَمَا and [what] كَانُوا۟ (as) they used to بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا with Our Verses يَجْحَدُونَ they reject.
English - Who took their religion as distraction and amusement and whom the worldly life deluded." So today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 52
وَلَقَدْ And certainly جِئْنَٰهُم We had brought them بِكِتَٰبٍ a Book فَصَّلْنَٰهُ which We have explained عَلَىٰ with عِلْمٍ knowledge - هُدًى as guidance وَرَحْمَةً and mercy لِّقَوْمٍ for a people يُؤْمِنُونَ who believe.
English - And We had certainly brought them a Book which We detailed by knowledge - as guidance and mercy to a people who believe. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 53
هَلْ Do يَنظُرُونَ they wait إِلَّا except تَأْوِيلَهُۥ (for) its fulfillment يَوْمَ (The) Day يَأْتِى (will) come تَأْوِيلُهُۥ its fulfillment, يَقُولُ will say ٱلَّذِينَ those who نَسُوهُ had forgotten it مِن from قَبْلُ before, قَدْ "Verily جَآءَتْ had come رُسُلُ (the) Messengers رَبِّنَا (of) our Lord بِٱلْحَقِّ with the truth, فَهَل so are (there) لَّنَا for us مِن any شُفَعَآءَ intercessors فَيَشْفَعُوا۟ so (that) they intercede لَنَآ for us أَوْ or نُرَدُّ we are sent back فَنَعْمَلَ so (that) we do (deeds) غَيْرَ other than ٱلَّذِى that which كُنَّا we used to نَعْمَلُ do." قَدْ Verily, خَسِرُوٓا۟ they lost أَنفُسَهُمْ themselves, وَضَلَّ and strayed عَنْهُم from them مَّا what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَفْتَرُونَ invent.
English - Do they await except its result? The Day its result comes those who had ignored it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord had come with the truth, so are there [now] any intercessors to intercede for us or could we be sent back to do other than we used to do?" They will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 54
إِنَّ Indeed, رَبَّكُمُ your Lord ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah ٱلَّذِى the One Who خَلَقَ created ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth فِى in سِتَّةِ six أَيَّامٍ epochs, ثُمَّ then ٱسْتَوَىٰ He ascended عَلَى on ٱلْعَرْشِ the Throne. يُغْشِى He covers ٱلَّيْلَ the night ٱلنَّهَارَ (with) the day يَطْلُبُهُۥ seeking it حَثِيثًا rapidly وَٱلشَّمْسَ and the sun وَٱلْقَمَرَ and the moon وَٱلنُّجُومَ and the stars - مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ subjected بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ by His command. أَلَا Unquestionably لَهُ for Him ٱلْخَلْقُ (is) the creation وَٱلْأَمْرُ and the command, تَبَارَكَ blessed ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah, رَبُّ Lord ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds.
English - Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 55
ٱدْعُوا۟ Call upon رَبَّكُمْ your Lord تَضَرُّعًا humbly وَخُفْيَةً and privately. إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He لَا (does) not يُحِبُّ love ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ the transgressors.
English - Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 56
وَلَا And (do) not تُفْسِدُوا۟ cause corruption فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth بَعْدَ after إِصْلَٰحِهَا its reformation. وَٱدْعُوهُ And call Him خَوْفًا (in) fear وَطَمَعًا and hope. إِنَّ Indeed, رَحْمَتَ (the) Mercy ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah قَرِيبٌ (is) near مِّنَ for ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ the good-doers.
English - And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 57
وَهُوَ And He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who يُرْسِلُ sends ٱلرِّيَٰحَ the winds بُشْرًۢا (as) glad tidings بَيْنَ from يَدَىْ before رَحْمَتِهِۦ His Mercy, حَتَّىٰٓ until, إِذَآ when أَقَلَّتْ they have carried سَحَابًا clouds - ثِقَالًا heavy, سُقْنَٰهُ We drive them لِبَلَدٍ to a land, مَّيِّتٍ dead, فَأَنزَلْنَا then We send down بِهِ from it ٱلْمَآءَ the water فَأَخْرَجْنَا then We bring forth بِهِۦ from it مِن (of) كُلِّ all (kinds) ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ (of) fruits. كَذَٰلِكَ Thus نُخْرِجُ We will bring forth ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ the dead لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تَذَكَّرُونَ take heed.
English - And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rain clouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 58
وَٱلْبَلَدُ And the land - ٱلطَّيِّبُ [the] pure, يَخْرُجُ comes forth نَبَاتُهُۥ its vegetation بِإِذْنِ by (the) permission رَبِّهِۦ (of) its Lord, وَٱلَّذِى but which خَبُثَ is bad - لَا (does) not يَخْرُجُ come forth إِلَّا except نَكِدًا (with) difficulty. كَذَٰلِكَ Thus نُصَرِّفُ We explain ٱلْءَايَٰتِ the Signs لِقَوْمٍ for a people يَشْكُرُونَ who are grateful.
English - And the good land - its vegetation emerges by permission of its Lord; but that which is bad - nothing emerges except sparsely, with difficulty. Thus do We diversify the signs for a people who are grateful. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 59
لَقَدْ Certainly, أَرْسَلْنَا We sent نُوحًا Nuh إِلَىٰ to قَوْمِهِۦ his people فَقَالَ and he said, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! ٱعْبُدُوا۟ Worship ٱللَّهَ Allah, مَا not لَكُم for you مِّنْ any إِلَٰهٍ god غَيْرُهُۥٓ other than Him. إِنِّىٓ Indeed, I أَخَافُ [I] fear عَلَيْكُمْ for you عَذَابَ punishment يَوْمٍ (of the) Day عَظِيمٍ Great."
English - We had certainly sent Noah to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous Day. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 60
قَالَ Said ٱلْمَلَأُ the chiefs مِن of قَوْمِهِۦٓ his people, إِنَّا "Indeed, we لَنَرَىٰكَ surely see you فِى in ضَلَٰلٍ error, مُّبِينٍ clear."
English - Said the eminent among his people, "Indeed, we see you in clear error." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 61
قَالَ He said, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! لَيْسَ There is not بِى in me ضَلَٰلَةٌ error, وَلَٰكِنِّى but I am رَسُولٌ a Messenger مِّن from رَّبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds.
English - [Noah] said, "O my people, there is not error in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 62
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ I convey to you رِسَٰلَٰتِ the Messages رَبِّى (of) my Lord وَأَنصَحُ and [I] advise لَكُمْ [to] you, وَأَعْلَمُ and I know مِنَ from ٱللَّهِ Allah مَا what لَا not تَعْلَمُونَ you know.
English - I convey to you the messages of my Lord and advise you; and I know from Allah what you do not know. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 63
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ Do you wonder أَن that جَآءَكُمْ has come to you ذِكْرٌ a reminder مِّن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord عَلَىٰ on رَجُلٍ a man مِّنكُمْ among you, لِيُنذِرَكُمْ that he may warn you وَلِتَتَّقُوا۟ and that you may fear, وَلَعَلَّكُمْ and so that you may تُرْحَمُونَ receive mercy."
English - Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you and that you may fear Allah so you might receive mercy." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 64
فَكَذَّبُوهُ But they denied him, فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ so We saved him وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who مَعَهُۥ (were) with him فِى in ٱلْفُلْكِ the ship. وَأَغْرَقْنَا And We drowned ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ Our Verses. إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they كَانُوا۟ were قَوْمًا a people عَمِينَ blind.
English - But they denied him, so We saved him and those who were with him in the ship. And We drowned those who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a blind people. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 65
وَإِلَىٰ And to عَادٍ Aad أَخَاهُمْ (We sent) their brother هُودًا Hud. قَالَ He said, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! ٱعْبُدُوا۟ Worship ٱللَّهَ Allah, مَا not لَكُم for you مِّنْ any إِلَٰهٍ god غَيْرُهُۥٓ other than Him. أَفَلَا Then will not تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Allah)?"
English - And to the 'Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. Then will you not fear Him?" .

Ayah 66
قَالَ Said ٱلْمَلَأُ the chiefs ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved مِن from قَوْمِهِۦٓ his people, إِنَّا "Indeed, we لَنَرَىٰكَ surely, see you فِى in سَفَاهَةٍ foolishness وَإِنَّا and indeed, we لَنَظُنُّكَ [we] think you مِنَ (are) of ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ the liars."
English - Said the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people, "Indeed, we see you in foolishness, and indeed, we think you are of the liars." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 67
قَالَ He said, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! لَيْسَ There is not بِى in me سَفَاهَةٌ foolishness, وَلَٰكِنِّى but I am رَسُولٌ a Messenger مِّن from رَّبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds.
English - [Hud] said, "O my people, there is not foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 68
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ I convey to you رِسَٰلَٰتِ Messages رَبِّى (of) my Lord وَأَنَا۠ and I am لَكُمْ to you نَاصِحٌ an adviser - أَمِينٌ trustworthy.
English - I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am to you a trustworthy adviser. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 69
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ Do you wonder أَن that جَآءَكُمْ has come to you ذِكْرٌ a reminder مِّن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord عَلَىٰ on رَجُلٍ a man مِّنكُمْ among you لِيُنذِرَكُمْ that he may warn you? وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ And remember إِذْ when جَعَلَكُمْ He made you خُلَفَآءَ successors مِنۢ from بَعْدِ after قَوْمِ (the) people نُوحٍ (of) Nuh, وَزَادَكُمْ and increased you فِى in ٱلْخَلْقِ the stature بَصْۜطَةً extensively. فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ So remember ءَالَآءَ (the) Bounties ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تُفْلِحُونَ succeed."
English - Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature extensively. So remember the favors of Allah that you might succeed. .

Ayah 70
قَالُوٓا۟ They said, أَجِئْتَنَا "Have you come to us لِنَعْبُدَ that we (should) worship ٱللَّهَ Allah وَحْدَهُۥ Alone وَنَذَرَ and we forsake مَا what كَانَ used to يَعْبُدُ worship ءَابَآؤُنَا our forefathers? فَأْتِنَا Then bring us بِمَا of what تَعِدُنَآ you promise us, إِن if كُنتَ you are مِنَ of ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ the truthful."
English - They said, "Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and leave what our fathers have worshipped? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful." .

Ayah 71
قَالَ He said, قَدْ "Verily وَقَعَ has fallen عَلَيْكُم upon you مِّن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord رِجْسٌ punishment وَغَضَبٌ and anger. أَتُجَٰدِلُونَنِى Do you dispute with me فِىٓ concerning أَسْمَآءٍ names سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ you have named them - أَنتُمْ you وَءَابَآؤُكُم and your forefathers مَّا Not نَزَّلَ (has been) sent down ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah بِهَا for it مِن any سُلْطَٰنٍ authority? فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ Then wait, إِنِّى indeed, I am مَعَكُم with you مِّنَ of ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ the ones who wait.
English - [Hud] said, "Already have defilement and anger fallen upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me concerning [mere] names you have named them, you and your fathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority? Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 72
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ So We saved him وَٱلَّذِينَ and those مَعَهُۥ with him بِرَحْمَةٍ by Mercy مِّنَّا from Us. وَقَطَعْنَا And We cut off دَابِرَ the roots ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Signs, وَمَا and not كَانُوا۟ they were مُؤْمِنِينَ believers.
English - So We saved him and those with him by mercy from Us. And We eliminated those who denied Our signs, and they were not [at all] believers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 73
وَإِلَىٰ And to ثَمُودَ Thamud أَخَاهُمْ (We sent) their brother صَٰلِحًا Salih. قَالَ He said, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! ٱعْبُدُوا۟ Worship ٱللَّهَ Allah, مَا not لَكُم for you مِّنْ any إِلَٰهٍ god غَيْرُهُۥ other than Him. قَدْ Verily جَآءَتْكُم has come to you بَيِّنَةٌ a clear proof مِّن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord, هَٰذِهِۦ This نَاقَةُ (is) a she-camel ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah لَكُمْ (it is) for you ءَايَةً a Sign. فَذَرُوهَا So you leave her تَأْكُلْ (to) eat فِىٓ on أَرْضِ (the) earth ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah, وَلَا and (do) not تَمَسُّوهَا touch her بِسُوٓءٍ with harm, فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ lest seizes you عَذَابٌ a punishment أَلِيمٌ painful."
English - And to the Thamūd [We sent] their brother Salih. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. This is the she-camel of Allah [sent] to you as a sign. So leave her to eat within Allah's land and do not touch her with harm, lest there seize you a painful punishment. .

Ayah 74
وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ And remember إِذْ when جَعَلَكُمْ He made you خُلَفَآءَ successors مِنۢ from بَعْدِ after عَادٍ Aad, وَبَوَّأَكُمْ and settled you فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth. تَتَّخِذُونَ You take مِن from سُهُولِهَا its plains قُصُورًا palaces وَتَنْحِتُونَ and you carve out ٱلْجِبَالَ the mountains بُيُوتًا (as) homes. فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ So remember ءَالَآءَ (the) Bounties ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَلَا and (do) not تَعْثَوْا۟ act wickedly فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ (the) earth مُفْسِدِينَ spreading corruption.
English - And remember when He made you successors after the ‘Aad and settled you in the land, [and] you take for yourselves palaces from its plains and carve from the mountains, homes. Then remember the favors of Allah and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption." .

Ayah 75
قَالَ Said ٱلْمَلَأُ the chiefs ٱلَّذِينَ - those ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ (who) were arrogant مِن among قَوْمِهِۦ his people, لِلَّذِينَ to those who ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ were oppressed - لِمَنْ [to] those who ءَامَنَ believed مِنْهُمْ among them, أَتَعْلَمُونَ "Do you know أَنَّ that صَٰلِحًا Salih مُّرْسَلٌ (is the) one sent مِّن from رَّبِّهِۦ his Lord?" قَالُوٓا۟ They said, إِنَّا "Indeed, we بِمَآ in what أُرْسِلَ he has been sent بِهِۦ with [it] مُؤْمِنُونَ (are) believers."
English - Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people to those who were oppressed – to those who believed among them, "Do you [actually] know that Salih is sent from his Lord?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which he was sent, are believers." .

Ayah 76
قَالَ Said ٱلَّذِينَ those who ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ were arrogant, إِنَّا "Indeed we, بِٱلَّذِىٓ in that which ءَامَنتُم you believe بِهِۦ in it كَٰفِرُونَ (are) disbelievers."
English - Said those who were arrogant, "Indeed we, in that which you have believed, are disbelievers." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 77
فَعَقَرُوا۟ Then they hamstrung ٱلنَّاقَةَ the she-camel وَعَتَوْا۟ and (were) insolent عَنْ towards أَمْرِ (the) command رَبِّهِمْ (of) their Lord وَقَالُوا۟ and they said, يَٰصَٰلِحُ "O Salih! ٱئْتِنَا Bring us بِمَا what تَعِدُنَآ you promise us إِن if كُنتَ you are مِنَ of ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers."
English - So they hamstrung the she-camel and were insolent toward the command of their Lord and said, "O Salih, bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the messengers." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 78
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ So seized them ٱلرَّجْفَةُ the earthquake, فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ then they became فِى in دَارِهِمْ their homes جَٰثِمِينَ fallen prone.
English - So the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 79
فَتَوَلَّىٰ So he turned away عَنْهُمْ from them وَقَالَ and he said, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! لَقَدْ Verily, أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ I have conveyed to you رِسَالَةَ (the) Message رَبِّى (of) my Lord وَنَصَحْتُ and [I] advised لَكُمْ [to] you وَلَٰكِن but لَّا not تُحِبُّونَ you like ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ the advisers."
English - And he turned away from them and said, "O my people, I had certainly conveyed to you the message of my Lord and advised you, but you do not like advisors." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 80
وَلُوطًا And Lut, إِذْ when قَالَ he said لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ to his people, أَتَأْتُونَ "Do you commit ٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ (such) immorality مَا not سَبَقَكُم has preceded you بِهَا therein مِنْ any أَحَدٍ one مِّنَ of ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ the worlds?
English - And [We had sent] Lot when he said to his people, "Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds? .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 81
إِنَّكُمْ Indeed, you لَتَأْتُونَ you approach ٱلرِّجَالَ the men شَهْوَةً lustfully مِّن from دُونِ instead of ٱلنِّسَآءِ the women. بَلْ Nay, أَنتُمْ you قَوْمٌ (are) a people مُّسْرِفُونَ (who) commit excesses."
English - Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 82
وَمَا And not كَانَ was جَوَابَ (the) answer قَوْمِهِۦٓ (of) his people إِلَّآ except أَن that قَالُوٓا۟ they said, أَخْرِجُوهُم "Drive them out مِّن of قَرْيَتِكُمْ your town. إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they أُنَاسٌ (are) people يَتَطَهَّرُونَ who keep themselves pure."
English - But the answer of his people was only that they said, "Evict them from your city! Indeed, they are men who keep themselves pure." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 83
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ So We saved him وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ and his family إِلَّا except ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ his wife, كَانَتْ she was مِنَ of ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ those who stayed behind.
English - So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers]. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 84
وَأَمْطَرْنَا And We showered عَلَيْهِم upon them مَّطَرًا a rain. فَٱنظُرْ So see كَيْفَ how كَانَ was عَٰقِبَةُ (the) end ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ (of) the criminals.
English - And We rained upon them a rain [of stones]. Then see how was the end of the criminals. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 85
وَإِلَىٰ And to مَدْيَنَ Madyan, أَخَاهُمْ his brother شُعَيْبًا Shuaib. قَالَ He said, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! ٱعْبُدُوا۟ Worship ٱللَّهَ Allah, مَا not لَكُم for you مِّنْ any إِلَٰهٍ god غَيْرُهُۥ other than Him. قَدْ Verily, جَآءَتْكُم has came to you بَيِّنَةٌ a clear proof مِّن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord. فَأَوْفُوا۟ So give full ٱلْكَيْلَ [the] measure وَٱلْمِيزَانَ and the weight وَلَا and (do) not تَبْخَسُوا۟ deprive ٱلنَّاسَ [the] people أَشْيَآءَهُمْ in their things وَلَا and (do) not تُفْسِدُوا۟ cause corruption فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth بَعْدَ after إِصْلَٰحِهَا its reformation. ذَٰلِكُمْ That خَيْرٌ (is) better لَّكُمْ for you إِن if كُنتُم you are مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers.
English - And to [the people of] Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu‘ayb. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. So fulfill the measure and weight and do not deprive people of their due and cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. That is better for you, if you should be believers. .

Ayah 86
وَلَا And (do) not تَقْعُدُوا۟ sit بِكُلِّ on every صِرَٰطٍ path تُوعِدُونَ threatening وَتَصُدُّونَ and hindering عَن from سَبِيلِ (the) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah مَنْ (those) who ءَامَنَ believe بِهِۦ in Him, وَتَبْغُونَهَا and seeking (to make) it عِوَجًا crooked. وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ And remember إِذْ when كُنتُمْ you were قَلِيلًا few فَكَثَّرَكُمْ and He increased you. وَٱنظُرُوا۟ And see كَيْفَ how كَانَ was عَٰقِبَةُ (the) end ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ (of) the corrupters.
English - And do not sit on every path, threatening and averting from the way of Allah those who believe in Him, seeking to make it [seem] deviant. And remember when you were few and He increased you. And see how was the end of the corrupters. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 87
وَإِن And if كَانَ (there) is طَآئِفَةٌ a group مِّنكُمْ among you ءَامَنُوا۟ (who has) believed بِٱلَّذِىٓ in that which أُرْسِلْتُ I have been sent بِهِۦ with [it], وَطَآئِفَةٌ and a group لَّمْ not يُؤْمِنُوا۟ they believe, فَٱصْبِرُوا۟ then be patient حَتَّىٰ until يَحْكُمَ judges ٱللَّهُ Allah بَيْنَنَا between us. وَهُوَ And He خَيْرُ (is the) Best ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ (of) [the] Judges."
English - And if there should be a group among you who has believed in that with which I have been sent and a group that has not believed, then be patient until Allah judges between us. And He is the best of judges." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 88
قَالَ Said ٱلْمَلَأُ the chiefs ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ were arrogant مِن among قَوْمِهِۦ his people, لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ "We will surely drive you out يَٰشُعَيْبُ O Shuaib! وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who ءَامَنُوا۟ (have) believed مَعَكَ with you مِن from قَرْيَتِنَآ our city, أَوْ or لَتَعُودُنَّ you must return فِى to مِلَّتِنَا our religion." قَالَ He said, أَوَلَوْ "Even if كُنَّا we are كَٰرِهِينَ (the) ones who hate (it)?
English - Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people, "We will surely evict you, O Shu‘ayb, and those who have believed with you from our city, or you must return to our religion." He said, "Even if we were unwilling?" .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 89
قَدِ Verily, ٱفْتَرَيْنَا we would have fabricated عَلَى against ٱللَّهِ Allah كَذِبًا a lie إِنْ if عُدْنَا we returned فِى in مِلَّتِكُم your religion بَعْدَ after إِذْ [when] نَجَّىٰنَا saved us ٱللَّهُ Allah مِنْهَا from it. وَمَا And not يَكُونُ it is لَنَآ for us أَن that نَّعُودَ we return فِيهَآ in it إِلَّآ except أَن that يَشَآءَ wills ٱللَّهُ Allah - رَبُّنَا our Lord. وَسِعَ Encompasses رَبُّنَا (by) Our Lord كُلَّ every شَىْءٍ thing عِلْمًا (in) knowledge. عَلَى Upon ٱللَّهِ Allah تَوَكَّلْنَا we put our trust. رَبَّنَا Our Lord! ٱفْتَحْ Decide بَيْنَنَا between us وَبَيْنَ and between قَوْمِنَا our people بِٱلْحَقِّ in truth وَأَنتَ and You خَيْرُ (are the) Best ٱلْفَٰتِحِينَ (of) those who Decide."
English - We would have invented against Allah a lie if we returned to your religion after Allah had saved us from it. And it is not for us to return to it except that Allah, our Lord, should will. Our Lord has encompassed all things in knowledge. Upon Allah we have relied. Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision." .

Ayah 90
وَقَالَ And said ٱلْمَلَأُ the chiefs ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved مِن among قَوْمِهِۦ his people, لَئِنِ "If ٱتَّبَعْتُمْ you follow شُعَيْبًا Shuaib, إِنَّكُمْ indeed, you إِذًا then لَّخَٰسِرُونَ (will be) certainly losers."
English - Said the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people, "If you should follow Shu‘ayb, indeed, you would then be losers." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 91
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ Then seized them ٱلرَّجْفَةُ the earthquake, فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ then they became فِى in دَارِهِمْ their home(s) جَٰثِمِينَ fallen prone.
English - So the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 92
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied شُعَيْبًا Shuaib كَأَن (became) as if لَّمْ not يَغْنَوْا۟ they (had) lived فِيهَا therein. ٱلَّذِينَ Those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied شُعَيْبًا Shuaib, كَانُوا۟ they were هُمُ them ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ the losers.
English - Those who denied Shu‘ayb – it was as though they had never resided there. Those who denied Shu'ayb – it was they who were the losers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 93
فَتَوَلَّىٰ So he turned away عَنْهُمْ from them وَقَالَ and said, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! لَقَدْ Verily, أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ I (have) conveyed to you رِسَٰلَٰتِ (the) Messages رَبِّى (of) my Lord وَنَصَحْتُ and advised لَكُمْ [to] you. فَكَيْفَ So how could ءَاسَىٰ I grieve عَلَىٰ for قَوْمٍ a people كَٰفِرِينَ (who are) disbelievers?"
English - And he turned away from them and said, "O my people, I had certainly conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and advised you, so how could I grieve for a disbelieving people?" .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 94
وَمَآ And not أَرْسَلْنَا We sent فِى in قَرْيَةٍ a city مِّن any نَّبِىٍّ Prophet إِلَّآ except أَخَذْنَآ We seized أَهْلَهَا its people بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ with adversity وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ and hardship, لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَضَّرَّعُونَ (become) humble.
English - And We sent to no city a prophet [who was denied] except that We seized its people with poverty and hardship that they might humble themselves [to Allah]. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 95
ثُمَّ Then بَدَّلْنَا We changed مَكَانَ (in) place ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ (of) the bad ٱلْحَسَنَةَ the good, حَتَّىٰ until عَفَوا۟ they increased وَّقَالُوا۟ and said, قَدْ "Verily, مَسَّ (had) touched ءَابَآءَنَا our forefathers ٱلضَّرَّآءُ the adversity وَٱلسَّرَّآءُ and the ease." فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم So We seized them بَغْتَةً suddenly, وَهُمْ while they لَا (did) not يَشْعُرُونَ perceive.
English - Then We exchanged in place of the bad [condition], good, until they increased [and prospered] and said, "Our fathers [also] were touched with hardship and ease." So We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 96
وَلَوْ And if أَنَّ [that] أَهْلَ people ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ (of) the cities ءَامَنُوا۟ (had) believed وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ and feared Allah لَفَتَحْنَا surely We (would have) opened عَلَيْهِم upon them بَرَكَٰتٍ blessings مِّنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَلَٰكِن but كَذَّبُوا۟ they denied. فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم So We seized them بِمَا for what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَكْسِبُونَ earn.
English - And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 97
أَفَأَمِنَ Then did feel secure أَهْلُ (the) people ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ (of) the cities أَن that يَأْتِيَهُم comes to them بَأْسُنَا Our punishment بَيَٰتًا (at) night وَهُمْ while they نَآئِمُونَ (were) asleep?
English - Then, did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them at night while they were asleep? .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 98
أَوَأَمِنَ Or felt secure أَهْلُ (the) people ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ (of) the cities أَن that يَأْتِيَهُم comes to them بَأْسُنَا Our punishment ضُحًى (in) daylight وَهُمْ while they يَلْعَبُونَ (were) playing?
English - Or did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they were at play? .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 99
أَفَأَمِنُوا۟ Then did they feel secure مَكْرَ (from the) plan ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah? فَلَا But not يَأْمَنُ feel secure مَكْرَ (from the) plan ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah إِلَّا except ٱلْقَوْمُ the people ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ (who are) the losers.
English - Then did they feel secure from the plan of Allah? But no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the losing people. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 100
أَوَلَمْ Would it not يَهْدِ guide لِلَّذِينَ [for] those who يَرِثُونَ inherit ٱلْأَرْضَ the land مِنۢ from بَعْدِ after أَهْلِهَآ its people أَن that لَّوْ if نَشَآءُ We willed, أَصَبْنَٰهُم We (could) afflict them بِذُنُوبِهِمْ for their sins وَنَطْبَعُ and We put a seal عَلَىٰ over قُلُوبِهِمْ their hearts فَهُمْ so they لَا (do) not يَسْمَعُونَ hear?
English - Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its [previous] people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear. .

Ayah 101
تِلْكَ These ٱلْقُرَىٰ (were) the cities - نَقُصُّ We relate عَلَيْكَ to you مِنْ of أَنۢبَآئِهَا their news. وَلَقَدْ And certainly جَآءَتْهُمْ came to them رُسُلُهُم their Messengers بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ with clear proofs, فَمَا but not كَانُوا۟ they were لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ to believe بِمَا in what كَذَّبُوا۟ they (had) denied مِن from قَبْلُ before. كَذَٰلِكَ Thus يَطْبَعُ (has been) put a seal ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah عَلَىٰ on قُلُوبِ (the) hearts ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ (of) the disbelievers.
English - Those cities – We relate to you, [O Muhammad], some of their news. And certainly did their messengers come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe in that which they had denied before. Thus does Allah seal over the hearts of the disbelievers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 102
وَمَا And not وَجَدْنَا We found لِأَكْثَرِهِم for most of them مِّنْ any عَهْدٍ covenant. وَإِن But وَجَدْنَآ We found أَكْثَرَهُمْ most of them لَفَٰسِقِينَ certainly, defiantly disobedient.
English - And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 103
ثُمَّ Then بَعَثْنَا We sent مِنۢ from بَعْدِهِم after them مُّوسَىٰ Musa بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ with Our Signs إِلَىٰ to فِرْعَوْنَ Firaun وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ and his chiefs, فَظَلَمُوا۟ But they were unjust بِهَا to them. فَٱنظُرْ So see كَيْفَ how كَانَ was عَٰقِبَةُ (the) end ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ (of) the corrupters.
English - Then We sent after them Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were unjust toward them. So see how was the end of the corrupters. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 104
وَقَالَ And said مُوسَىٰ Musa, يَٰفِرْعَوْنُ "O Firaun! إِنِّى Indeed, I am رَسُولٌ a Messenger مِّن from رَّبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds
English - And Moses said, “O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 105
حَقِيقٌ Obligated عَلَىٰٓ on أَن that لَّآ not أَقُولَ I say عَلَى about ٱللَّهِ Allah إِلَّا except ٱلْحَقَّ the truth. قَدْ Verily, جِئْتُكُم I (have) come to you بِبَيِّنَةٍ with a clear Sign مِّن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord, فَأَرْسِلْ so send مَعِىَ with me بَنِىٓ (the) Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel."
English - [Who is] obligated not to say about Allah except the truth. I have come to you with clear evidence from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 106
قَالَ He said, إِن "If كُنتَ you have جِئْتَ come بِـَٔايَةٍ with a Sign, فَأْتِ then bring بِهَآ it إِن if كُنتَ you are مِنَ of ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ the truthful."
English - [Pharaoh] said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you should be of the truthful." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 107
فَأَلْقَىٰ So he threw عَصَاهُ his staff, فَإِذَا and suddenly هِىَ it ثُعْبَانٌ (was) a serpent, مُّبِينٌ manifest.
English - So Moses threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, manifest. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 108
وَنَزَعَ And he drew out يَدَهُۥ his hand فَإِذَا and suddenly هِىَ it بَيْضَآءُ (was) white لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ for the observers.
English - And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 109
قَالَ Said ٱلْمَلَأُ the chiefs مِن of قَوْمِ (the) people فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun, إِنَّ "Indeed, هَٰذَا this لَسَٰحِرٌ (is) surely a magician - عَلِيمٌ learned.
English - Said the eminent among the people of Pharaoh, "Indeed, this is a learned magician .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 110
يُرِيدُ He wants أَن to يُخْرِجَكُم drive you out مِّنْ from أَرْضِكُمْ your land, فَمَاذَا so what تَأْمُرُونَ (do) you instruct?"
English - Who wants to expel you from your land [through magic], so what do you instruct?" .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 111
قَالُوٓا۟ They said, أَرْجِهْ "Postpone him وَأَخَاهُ and his brother, وَأَرْسِلْ and send فِى in ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ the cities حَٰشِرِينَ gatherers.
English - They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 112
يَأْتُوكَ They (will) bring to you بِكُلِّ [with] every سَٰحِرٍ magician, عَلِيمٍ learned."
English - Who will bring you every learned magician." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 113
وَجَآءَ So came ٱلسَّحَرَةُ the magicians فِرْعَوْنَ (to) Firaun. قَالُوٓا۟ They said, إِنَّ "Indeed, لَنَا for us لَأَجْرًا surely (will be) a reward إِن if كُنَّا we are نَحْنُ [we] ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ the victors."
English - And the magicians came to Pharaoh. They said, "Indeed for us is a reward if we are the predominant." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 114
قَالَ He said, نَعَمْ "Yes, وَإِنَّكُمْ and indeed you لَمِنَ surely (will be) of ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ the ones who are near."
English - He said, "Yes, and, [moreover], you will be among those made near [to me]." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 115
قَالُوا۟ They said, يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ "O Musa! إِمَّآ Whether أَن [that] تُلْقِىَ you throw وَإِمَّآ or Whether أَن [that] نَّكُونَ we will be نَحْنُ [we] ٱلْمُلْقِينَ the ones to throw?"
English - They said, "O Moses, either you throw [your staff], or we will be the ones to throw [first]." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 116
قَالَ He said, أَلْقُوا۟ "Throw." فَلَمَّآ Then when أَلْقَوْا۟ they threw, سَحَرُوٓا۟ they bewitched أَعْيُنَ (the) eyes ٱلنَّاسِ (of) the people, وَٱسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ and terrified them وَجَآءُو and came (up) بِسِحْرٍ with a magic عَظِيمٍ great.
English - He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 117
وَأَوْحَيْنَآ And We inspired إِلَىٰ to مُوسَىٰٓ Musa أَنْ that, أَلْقِ "Throw عَصَاكَ your staff," فَإِذَا and suddenly هِىَ it تَلْقَفُ swallow(ed) مَا what يَأْفِكُونَ they (were) falsifying.
English - And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 118
فَوَقَعَ So was established ٱلْحَقُّ the truth, وَبَطَلَ and became futile مَا what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَعْمَلُونَ do.
English - So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 119
فَغُلِبُوا۟ So they were defeated هُنَالِكَ there وَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ and returned صَٰغِرِينَ humiliated.
English - And Pharaoh and his people were overcome right there and became debased. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 120
وَأُلْقِىَ And fell down ٱلسَّحَرَةُ the magicians سَٰجِدِينَ prostrate.
English - And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 121
قَالُوٓا۟ They said, ءَامَنَّا "We believe بِرَبِّ in (the) Lord ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds
English - They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds, .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 122
رَبِّ Lord مُوسَىٰ (of) Musa وَهَٰرُونَ and Harun."
English - The Lord of Moses and Aaron." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 123
قَالَ Said فِرْعَوْنُ Firaun, ءَامَنتُم "You believed بِهِۦ in him قَبْلَ before أَنْ [that] ءَاذَنَ I give permission لَكُمْ to you. إِنَّ Indeed, هَٰذَا this لَمَكْرٌ (is) surely a plot مَّكَرْتُمُوهُ you have plotted it فِى in ٱلْمَدِينَةِ the city لِتُخْرِجُوا۟ so that you may drive out مِنْهَآ from it أَهْلَهَا its people. فَسَوْفَ But soon تَعْلَمُونَ you will know.
English - Said Pharaoh, "You believed in him before I gave you permission. Indeed, this is a conspiracy which you conspired in the city to expel therefrom its people. But you are going to know. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 124
لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ I will surely cut off أَيْدِيَكُمْ your hands وَأَرْجُلَكُم and your feet مِّنْ of خِلَٰفٍ opposite (sides). ثُمَّ Then لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ I will surely crucify you أَجْمَعِينَ all."
English - I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides; then I will surely crucify you all." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 125
قَالُوٓا۟ They said, إِنَّآ "Indeed, we إِلَىٰ to رَبِّنَا our Lord مُنقَلِبُونَ (will) return.
English - They said, "Indeed, to our Lord we will return. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 126
وَمَا And not تَنقِمُ you take revenge مِنَّآ from us إِلَّآ except أَنْ that ءَامَنَّا we believed بِـَٔايَٰتِ in (the) Signs رَبِّنَا (of) our Lord لَمَّا when جَآءَتْنَا they came to us. رَبَّنَآ Our Lord! أَفْرِغْ Pour عَلَيْنَا upon us صَبْرًا patience وَتَوَفَّنَا and cause us to die مُسْلِمِينَ (as) Muslims."
English - And you do not resent us except because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 127
وَقَالَ And said ٱلْمَلَأُ the chiefs مِن of قَوْمِ (the) people فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun, أَتَذَرُ "Will you leave مُوسَىٰ Musa وَقَوْمَهُۥ and his people لِيُفْسِدُوا۟ so that they cause corruption فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth وَيَذَرَكَ and forsake you وَءَالِهَتَكَ and your gods?" قَالَ He said, سَنُقَتِّلُ "We will kill أَبْنَآءَهُمْ their sons وَنَسْتَحْىِۦ and we will let live نِسَآءَهُمْ their women, وَإِنَّا and indeed, we فَوْقَهُمْ over them قَٰهِرُونَ (are) subjugators."
English - And the eminent among the people of Pharaoh said,” Will you leave Moses and his people to cause corruption in the land and abandon you and your gods?" [Pharaoh] said, "We will kill their sons and keep their women alive; and indeed, we are subjugators over them." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 128
قَالَ Said مُوسَىٰ Musa لِقَوْمِهِ to his people, ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ "Seek help بِٱللَّهِ from Allah وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ and be patient. إِنَّ Indeed, ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth لِلَّهِ (belongs) to Allah. يُورِثُهَا He causes to inherit it مَن whom يَشَآءُ He wills مِنْ of عِبَادِهِۦ His servants. وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ And the end لِلْمُتَّقِينَ (is) for the righteous."
English - Said Moses to his people, "Seek help through Allah and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 129
قَالُوٓا۟ They said, أُوذِينَا "We have been harmed مِن from قَبْلِ before أَن [that] تَأْتِيَنَا you came to us وَمِنۢ from بَعْدِ and after مَا [what] جِئْتَنَا you have come to us." قَالَ He said, عَسَىٰ "Perhaps رَبُّكُمْ your Lord أَن [that] يُهْلِكَ will destroy عَدُوَّكُمْ your enemy وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ and make you successors فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth, فَيَنظُرَ then see كَيْفَ how تَعْمَلُونَ you will do."
English - They said, "We have been harmed before you came to us and after you have come to us." He said, "Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and grant you succession in the land and see how you will do." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 130
وَلَقَدْ And certainly, أَخَذْنَآ We seized ءَالَ (the) people فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun بِٱلسِّنِينَ with years (of famine) وَنَقْصٍ and a deficit مِّنَ of ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ [the] fruits, لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَذَّكَّرُونَ receive admonition.
English - And We certainly seized the people of Pharaoh with years of famine and a deficiency in fruits that perhaps they would be reminded. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 131
فَإِذَا But when جَآءَتْهُمُ came to them ٱلْحَسَنَةُ the good قَالُوا۟ they said, لَنَا "For us هَٰذِهِۦ (is) this." وَإِن And if تُصِبْهُمْ afflicts them سَيِّئَةٌ bad, يَطَّيَّرُوا۟ they ascribe evil omens بِمُوسَىٰ to Musa وَمَن and who مَّعَهُۥٓ (were) with him. أَلَآ Behold! إِنَّمَا Only طَٰٓئِرُهُمْ their evil omens عِندَ (are) with ٱللَّهِ Allah وَلَٰكِنَّ but أَكْثَرَهُمْ most of them لَا (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ know.
English - But when good came to them, they said, "This is ours [by right]." And if a bad [condition] struck them, they saw an evil omen in Moses and those with him. Unquestionably, their fortune is with Allah, but most of them do not know. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 132
وَقَالُوا۟ And they said, مَهْمَا "Whatever تَأْتِنَا you bring us بِهِۦ therewith مِنْ of ءَايَةٍ (the) sign لِّتَسْحَرَنَا so that you bewitch us بِهَا with it, فَمَا then not نَحْنُ we لَكَ (will be) in you بِمُؤْمِنِينَ believers."
English - And they said, "No matter what sign you bring us with which to bewitch us, we will not be believers in you." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 133
فَأَرْسَلْنَا So We sent عَلَيْهِمُ on them ٱلطُّوفَانَ the flood وَٱلْجَرَادَ and the locusts وَٱلْقُمَّلَ and the lice وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ and the frogs وَٱلدَّمَ and the blood ءَايَٰتٍ (as) signs مُّفَصَّلَٰتٍ manifest, فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ but they showed arrogance وَكَانُوا۟ and they were قَوْمًا a people, مُّجْرِمِينَ criminal.
English - So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood as distinct signs, but they were arrogant and were a criminal people. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 134
وَلَمَّا And when وَقَعَ fell عَلَيْهِمُ on them ٱلرِّجْزُ the punishment, قَالُوا۟ they said, يَٰمُوسَى "O Musa! ٱدْعُ Invoke لَنَا for us رَبَّكَ your Lord بِمَا by what عَهِدَ He has promised عِندَكَ to you. لَئِن If كَشَفْتَ you remove عَنَّا from us ٱلرِّجْزَ the punishment لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ surely, we will believe لَكَ [for] you وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ and surely, we will send مَعَكَ with you بَنِىٓ (the) Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel."
English - And when the punishment descended upon them, they said, "O Moses, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. If you [can] remove the punishment from us, we will surely believe you, and we will send with you the Children of Israel." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 135
فَلَمَّا But when كَشَفْنَا We removed عَنْهُمُ from them ٱلرِّجْزَ the punishment إِلَىٰٓ till أَجَلٍ a (fixed) term هُم (which) they بَٰلِغُوهُ were to reach [it], إِذَا then, هُمْ they يَنكُثُونَ broke (the word).
English - But when We removed the punishment from them until a term which they were to reach, then at once they broke their word. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 136
فَٱنتَقَمْنَا So We took retribution مِنْهُمْ from them فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ and We drowned them فِى in ٱلْيَمِّ the sea بِأَنَّهُمْ because they كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Signs, وَكَانُوا۟ and they were عَنْهَا to them غَٰفِلِينَ heedless.
English - So We took retribution from them, and We drowned them in the sea because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 137
وَأَوْرَثْنَا And We made inheritors ٱلْقَوْمَ the people ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَانُوا۟ were يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ considered weak - مَشَٰرِقَ (the) eastern (parts) ٱلْأَرْضِ (of) the land وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا and the western (parts) of it, ٱلَّتِى which بَٰرَكْنَا We blessed فِيهَا [in it]. وَتَمَّتْ And was fulfilled كَلِمَتُ (the) word رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord - ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ the best عَلَىٰ for بَنِىٓ (the) Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel بِمَا because صَبَرُوا۟ they were patient. وَدَمَّرْنَا And We destroyed مَا what كَانَ used to يَصْنَعُ make فِرْعَوْنُ Firaun وَقَوْمُهُۥ and his people, وَمَا and what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَعْرِشُونَ erect.
English - And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern regions of the land and the western ones, which We had blessed. And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of what they had patiently endured. And We destroyed [all] that Pharaoh and his people were producing and what they had been building. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 138
وَجَٰوَزْنَا And We led across بِبَنِىٓ (the) Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel ٱلْبَحْرَ the sea. فَأَتَوْا۟ Then they came عَلَىٰ upon قَوْمٍ a people يَعْكُفُونَ devoted عَلَىٰٓ to أَصْنَامٍ idols لَّهُمْ of theirs. قَالُوا۟ They said, يَٰمُوسَى "O Musa! ٱجْعَل Make لَّنَآ for us إِلَٰهًا a god كَمَا like what لَهُمْ they have ءَالِهَةٌ gods. قَالَ He said, إِنَّكُمْ "Indeed, you قَوْمٌ (are) a people تَجْهَلُونَ ignorant.
English - And We took the Children of Israel across the sea; then they came upon a people intent in devotion to [some] idols of theirs. They said, "O Moses, make for us a god just as they have gods." He said, "Indeed, you are a people behaving ignorantly. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 139
إِنَّ Indeed هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ these, مُتَبَّرٌ destroyed مَّا (is) what هُمْ they فِيهِ (are) in it وَبَٰطِلٌ and vain مَّا (is) what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَعْمَلُونَ do."
English - Indeed, those [worshippers] – destroyed is that in which they are [engaged], and worthless is whatever they were doing." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 140
قَالَ He said, أَغَيْرَ "Should other than ٱللَّهِ Allah أَبْغِيكُمْ I seek for you إِلَٰهًا a god, وَهُوَ while He فَضَّلَكُمْ has preferred you عَلَى over ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ the worlds?"
English - He said, "Is it other than Allah I should desire for you as a god while He has preferred you over the worlds?" .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 141
وَإِذْ And when أَنجَيْنَٰكُم We saved you مِّنْ from ءَالِ (the) people فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun يَسُومُونَكُمْ who were afflicting you سُوٓءَ (with) worst ٱلْعَذَابِ (of) torment, يُقَتِّلُونَ they were killing أَبْنَآءَكُمْ your sons وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ and letting live نِسَآءَكُمْ your women. وَفِى And in ذَٰلِكُم that بَلَآءٌ (was) a trial مِّن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord عَظِيمٌ great.
English - And [recall, O Children of Israel], when We saved you from the people of Pharaoh, [who were] afflicting you with the worst torment – killing your sons and keeping your women alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 142
وَوَٰعَدْنَا And We appointed مُوسَىٰ (for) Musa ثَلَٰثِينَ thirty لَيْلَةً nights وَأَتْمَمْنَٰهَا and We completed them بِعَشْرٍ with ten (more), فَتَمَّ so was completed مِيقَٰتُ (the) set term رَبِّهِۦٓ (of) his Lord أَرْبَعِينَ (of) forty لَيْلَةً night(s). وَقَالَ And said مُوسَىٰ Musa لِأَخِيهِ to his brother هَٰرُونَ Harun, ٱخْلُفْنِى "Take my place فِى in قَوْمِى my people, وَأَصْلِحْ and do right وَلَا and (do) not تَتَّبِعْ follow سَبِيلَ (the) way ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ (of) the corrupters."
English - And We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights and perfected them by [the addition of] ten; so the term of his Lord was completed as forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take my place among my people, do right [by them], and do not follow the way of the corrupters." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 143
وَلَمَّا And when جَآءَ came مُوسَىٰ Musa لِمِيقَٰتِنَا to Our appointed place وَكَلَّمَهُۥ and spoke to him رَبُّهُۥ his Lord, قَالَ he said, رَبِّ "O my Lord! أَرِنِىٓ Show me أَنظُرْ (that) I may look إِلَيْكَ at You." قَالَ He said, لَن "Never تَرَىٰنِى you (can) see Me, وَلَٰكِنِ but ٱنظُرْ look إِلَى at ٱلْجَبَلِ the mountain فَإِنِ [then] if ٱسْتَقَرَّ it remains مَكَانَهُۥ in its place فَسَوْفَ then تَرَىٰنِى you (will) see Me." فَلَمَّا But when تَجَلَّىٰ revealed (His) Glory رَبُّهُۥ his Lord لِلْجَبَلِ to the mountain, جَعَلَهُۥ He made it دَكًّا crumbled to dust وَخَرَّ and fell down مُوسَىٰ Musa صَعِقًا unconscious. فَلَمَّآ And when أَفَاقَ he recovered قَالَ he said, سُبْحَٰنَكَ "Glory be to You! تُبْتُ I turn (in repentance) إِلَيْكَ to you, وَأَنَا۠ and I am أَوَّلُ (the) first ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (of) the believers."
English - And when Moses arrived at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, "My Lord, show me [Yourself] that I may look at You." [Allah] said, "You will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it should remain in place, then you will see Me." But when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He rendered it level, and Moses fell unconscious. And when he awoke, he said, "Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers." .

Ayah 144
قَالَ He said, يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ "O Musa! إِنِّى Indeed, I ٱصْطَفَيْتُكَ have chosen you عَلَى over ٱلنَّاسِ the people بِرِسَٰلَٰتِى with My Messages وَبِكَلَٰمِى and with My words. فَخُذْ So take مَآ what ءَاتَيْتُكَ I have given you وَكُن and be مِّنَ among ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ the grateful."
English - [Allah] said, "O Moses, I have chosen you over the people with My messages and My words [to you]. So take what I have given you and be among the grateful." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 145
وَكَتَبْنَا And We ordained (laws) لَهُۥ for him فِى in ٱلْأَلْوَاحِ the tablets - مِن of كُلِّ every شَىْءٍ thing, مَّوْعِظَةً an instruction وَتَفْصِيلًا and explanation لِّكُلِّ for every شَىْءٍ thing, فَخُذْهَا "So take them بِقُوَّةٍ with firmness وَأْمُرْ and order قَوْمَكَ your people يَأْخُذُوا۟ (to) take بِأَحْسَنِهَا (the) best of it. سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ I will show you دَارَ (the) home ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ (of) the defiantly disobedient."
English - And We wrote for him on the tablets [something] of all things – instruction and explanation for all things, [saying], "Take them with determination and order your people to take the best of it. I will show you the home of the defiantly disobedient." .

Ayah 146
سَأَصْرِفُ I will turn away عَنْ from ءَايَٰتِىَ My Signs ٱلَّذِينَ those who يَتَكَبَّرُونَ are arrogant فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth بِغَيْرِ without ٱلْحَقِّ [the] right; وَإِن and if يَرَوْا۟ they see كُلَّ every ءَايَةٍ sign, لَّا not يُؤْمِنُوا۟ (will) they believe بِهَا in it. وَإِن And if يَرَوْا۟ they see سَبِيلَ (the) way ٱلرُّشْدِ (of) the righteousness, لَا not يَتَّخِذُوهُ (will) they take it سَبِيلًا (as) a way, وَإِن but if يَرَوْا۟ they see سَبِيلَ (the) way ٱلْغَىِّ (of) [the] error, يَتَّخِذُوهُ they will take it سَبِيلًا (as) a way. ذَٰلِكَ That بِأَنَّهُمْ (is) because they كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Signs وَكَانُوا۟ and they were عَنْهَا of them غَٰفِلِينَ heedless.
English - I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant upon the earth without right; and if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of consciousness, they will not adopt it as a way; but if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they have denied Our signs and they were heedless of them. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 147
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Signs وَلِقَآءِ and (the) meeting ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ (of) the Hereafter - حَبِطَتْ worthless أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ (are) their deeds. هَلْ Will يُجْزَوْنَ they be recompensed إِلَّا except مَا (for) what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَعْمَلُونَ do?
English - Those who denied Our signs and the meeting of the Hereafter – their deeds have become worthless. Are they recompensed except for what they used to do? .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 148
وَٱتَّخَذَ And took قَوْمُ (the) people مُوسَىٰ (of) Musa, مِنۢ from بَعْدِهِۦ after him مِنْ from حُلِيِّهِمْ their ornaments عِجْلًا a calf - جَسَدًا an image لَّهُۥ [for] it خُوَارٌ (had) a lowing sound. أَلَمْ Did not يَرَوْا۟ they see أَنَّهُۥ that it لَا (could) not يُكَلِّمُهُمْ speak to them وَلَا and not يَهْدِيهِمْ guide them سَبِيلًا (to) a way? ٱتَّخَذُوهُ They took it (for worship) وَكَانُوا۟ and they were ظَٰلِمِينَ wrongdoers.
English - And the people of Moses made, after [his departure], from their ornaments a calf – an image having a lowing sound. Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to a way? They took it [for worship], and they were wrongdoers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 149
وَلَمَّا And when سُقِطَ (it was made to) fall فِىٓ into أَيْدِيهِمْ their hands وَرَأَوْا۟ and they saw أَنَّهُمْ that they قَدْ (had) indeed ضَلُّوا۟ gone astray, قَالُوا۟ they said, لَئِن "If لَّمْ not يَرْحَمْنَا has Mercy on us, رَبُّنَا Our Lord, وَيَغْفِرْ and forgive لَنَا [for] us, لَنَكُونَنَّ we will surely be مِنَ among ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ the losers."
English - And when regret overcame them and they saw that they had gone astray, they said, “If our Lord does not have mercy upon us and forgive us, we will surely be among the losers." .

Ayah 150
وَلَمَّا And when رَجَعَ returned مُوسَىٰٓ Musa إِلَىٰ to قَوْمِهِۦ his people - غَضْبَٰنَ angry, أَسِفًا and grieved, قَالَ he said, بِئْسَمَا "Evil is what خَلَفْتُمُونِى you have done in my place مِنۢ from بَعْدِىٓ after me. أَعَجِلْتُمْ Were you impatient أَمْرَ (over the) matter رَبِّكُمْ (of) your Lord?" وَأَلْقَى And he cast down ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ the tablets وَأَخَذَ and seized بِرَأْسِ by head, أَخِيهِ his brother يَجُرُّهُۥٓ dragging him إِلَيْهِ to himself. قَالَ He said, ٱبْنَ "O son أُمَّ (of) my mother! إِنَّ Indeed, ٱلْقَوْمَ the people ٱسْتَضْعَفُونِى considered me weak وَكَادُوا۟ and were about to يَقْتُلُونَنِى kill me. فَلَا So (let) not تُشْمِتْ rejoice بِىَ over me ٱلْأَعْدَآءَ the enemies, وَلَا and (do) not تَجْعَلْنِى place me مَعَ with ٱلْقَوْمِ the people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ (who are) wrongdoing.
English - And when Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said, "How wretched is that by which you have replaced me after [my departure]. Were you impatient over the matter of your Lord?" And he threw down the tablets and seized his brother by [the hair of] his head, pulling him toward him. [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, indeed the people oppressed me and were about to kill me, so let not the enemies rejoice over me and do not place me among the wrongdoing people." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 151
قَالَ He said, رَبِّ "O my Lord! ٱغْفِرْ Forgive لِى me وَلِأَخِى and my brother وَأَدْخِلْنَا and admit us فِى into رَحْمَتِكَ Your Mercy, وَأَنتَ for You أَرْحَمُ (are) the Most Merciful ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ (of) the merciful."
English - [Moses] said, "My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 152
إِنَّ Indeed, ٱلَّذِينَ those who ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ took ٱلْعِجْلَ the calf, سَيَنَالُهُمْ will reach them غَضَبٌ wrath مِّن from رَّبِّهِمْ their Lord, وَذِلَّةٌ and humiliation فِى in ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world. وَكَذَٰلِكَ And thus نَجْزِى We recompense ٱلْمُفْتَرِينَ the ones who invent (falsehood).
English - Indeed, those who took the calf [for worship] will obtain anger from their Lord and humiliation in the life of this world, and thus do We recompense the inventors [of falsehood]. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 153
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who عَمِلُوا۟ do ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ the evil deeds ثُمَّ then تَابُوا۟ repented مِنۢ from بَعْدِهَا after that وَءَامَنُوٓا۟ and believed, إِنَّ indeed, رَبَّكَ your Lord مِنۢ from بَعْدِهَا after that لَغَفُورٌ (is) surely Oft-Forgiving, رَّحِيمٌ Most Merciful.
English - But those who committed misdeeds and then repented after them and believed – indeed your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 154
وَلَمَّا And when سَكَتَ was calmed عَن from مُّوسَى Musa ٱلْغَضَبُ the anger, أَخَذَ he took (up) ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ the tablets وَفِى and in نُسْخَتِهَا their inscription هُدًى (was) guidance وَرَحْمَةٌ and mercy لِّلَّذِينَ for those who هُمْ [they] لِرَبِّهِمْ of their Lord يَرْهَبُونَ (are) fearful.
English - And when the anger subsided in Moses, he took up the tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 155
وَٱخْتَارَ And chose مُوسَىٰ Musa قَوْمَهُۥ (from) his people سَبْعِينَ seventy رَجُلًا men لِّمِيقَٰتِنَا for Our appointment. فَلَمَّآ Then when أَخَذَتْهُمُ seized them ٱلرَّجْفَةُ the earthquake قَالَ he said, رَبِّ "O my Lord! لَوْ If شِئْتَ you (had) willed, أَهْلَكْتَهُم You (could) have destroyed them مِّن from قَبْلُ before وَإِيَّٰىَ and me. أَتُهْلِكُنَا Would You destroy us بِمَا for what فَعَلَ did ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ the foolish مِنَّآ among us? إِنْ Not هِىَ it (was) إِلَّا but فِتْنَتُكَ Your trial, تُضِلُّ You let go astray بِهَا by it مَن whom تَشَآءُ You will وَتَهْدِى and You guide مَن whom تَشَآءُ You will. أَنتَ You وَلِيُّنَا (are) our Protector, فَٱغْفِرْ so forgive لَنَا us وَٱرْحَمْنَا and have mercy upon us, وَأَنتَ and You خَيْرُ (are) Best ٱلْغَٰفِرِينَ (of) Forgivers.
English - And Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointment. And when the earthquake seized them, he said, "My Lord, if You had willed, You could have destroyed them before and me [as well]. Would You destroy us for what the foolish among us have done? This is not but Your trial by which You send astray whom You will and guide whom You will. You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us; and You are the best of forgivers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 156
وَٱكْتُبْ And ordain لَنَا for us فِى in هَٰذِهِ this ٱلدُّنْيَا [the] world, حَسَنَةً good وَفِى and in ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ the Hereafter. إِنَّا Indeed, we هُدْنَآ we have turned إِلَيْكَ to You." قَالَ He said, عَذَابِىٓ "My punishment - أُصِيبُ I afflict بِهِۦ with it مَنْ whom أَشَآءُ I will, وَرَحْمَتِى but My Mercy وَسِعَتْ encompasses كُلَّ every شَىْءٍ thing. فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا So I will ordain it لِلَّذِينَ for those who يَتَّقُونَ (are) righteous وَيُؤْتُونَ and give ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ zakah وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who هُم [they] بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا in Our Verses, يُؤْمِنُونَ they believe.
English - And decree for us in this world [that which is] good and [also] in the Hereafter; indeed, we have turned back to You." [Allah] said, "My punishment – I afflict with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things." So I will decree it [especially] for those who fear Me and give zakah and those who believe in Our verses – .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 157
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who يَتَّبِعُونَ follow ٱلرَّسُولَ the Messenger, ٱلنَّبِىَّ the Prophet, ٱلْأُمِّىَّ the unlettered, ٱلَّذِى whom يَجِدُونَهُۥ they find him مَكْتُوبًا written عِندَهُمْ with them فِى in ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ the Taurat وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ and the Injeel. يَأْمُرُهُم He commands them بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ to the right وَيَنْهَىٰهُمْ and forbids them عَنِ from ٱلْمُنكَرِ the wrong, وَيُحِلُّ and he makes lawful لَهُمُ for them ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ the pure things وَيُحَرِّمُ and makes unlawful عَلَيْهِمُ for them ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ the impure things وَيَضَعُ and he relieves عَنْهُمْ from them إِصْرَهُمْ their burden وَٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ and the fetters ٱلَّتِى which كَانَتْ were عَلَيْهِمْ upon them. فَٱلَّذِينَ So those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe بِهِۦ in him وَعَزَّرُوهُ and honor him, وَنَصَرُوهُ and help him وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ and follow ٱلنُّورَ the light ٱلَّذِىٓ which أُنزِلَ has been sent down مَعَهُۥٓ with him - أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ Those (are) هُمُ [they] ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ the successful ones."
English - Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him – it is those who will be the successful. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 158
قُلْ Say, يَٰٓأَيُّهَا "O ٱلنَّاسُ mankind! إِنِّى Indeed I am رَسُولُ (the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah إِلَيْكُمْ to you جَمِيعًا all, ٱلَّذِى the One لَهُۥ for Whom مُلْكُ (is the) dominion ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth. لَآ (There is) no إِلَٰهَ god إِلَّا except هُوَ Him, يُحْىِۦ He gives life وَيُمِيتُ and causes death. فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ So believe بِٱللَّهِ in Allah وَرَسُولِهِ and His Messenger, ٱلنَّبِىِّ the Prophet, ٱلْأُمِّىِّ the unlettered ٱلَّذِى the one who يُؤْمِنُ believes بِٱللَّهِ in Allah وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ and His Words, وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ and follow him لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تَهْتَدُونَ (be) guided."
English - Say, [O Muhammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided. .

Ayah 159
وَمِن And among قَوْمِ (the) people مُوسَىٰٓ (of) Musa أُمَّةٌ (is) a community يَهْدُونَ (which) guides بِٱلْحَقِّ with truth وَبِهِۦ and by it يَعْدِلُونَ establishes justice.
English - And among the people of Moses is a community which guides by truth and by it establishes justice. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 160
وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمُ And We divided them ٱثْنَتَىْ (into) two عَشْرَةَ (and) ten [i.e. twelve] أَسْبَاطًا tribes أُمَمًا (as) communities. وَأَوْحَيْنَآ And We inspired إِلَىٰ to مُوسَىٰٓ Musa, إِذِ when ٱسْتَسْقَىٰهُ asked him for water قَوْمُهُۥٓ his people, أَنِ [that] ٱضْرِب "Strike بِّعَصَاكَ with your staff ٱلْحَجَرَ the stone." فَٱنۢبَجَسَتْ Then gushed forth مِنْهُ from it ٱثْنَتَا two عَشْرَةَ (and) ten [i.e. twelve] عَيْنًا springs. قَدْ Certainly, عَلِمَ knew كُلُّ each أُنَاسٍ people مَّشْرَبَهُمْ their drinking place. وَظَلَّلْنَا And We shaded عَلَيْهِمُ [on] them ٱلْغَمَٰمَ (with) the clouds وَأَنزَلْنَا and We sent down عَلَيْهِمُ upon them, ٱلْمَنَّ the manna وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ and the quails. كُلُوا۟ "Eat مِن from طَيِّبَٰتِ (the) good things مَا which رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ We have provided you." وَمَا And not ظَلَمُونَا they wronged Us وَلَٰكِن but كَانُوٓا۟ they were أَنفُسَهُمْ (to) themselves يَظْلِمُونَ doing wrong.
English - And We divided them into twelve descendant tribes [as distinct] nations. And We inspired to Moses when his people implored him for water, "Strike with your staff the stone," and there gushed forth from it twelve springs. Every people knew its watering place. And We shaded them with clouds and sent down upon them manna and quails, [saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you." And they wronged Us not, but they were [only] wronging themselves. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 161
وَإِذْ And when قِيلَ it was said لَهُمُ to them, ٱسْكُنُوا۟ "Live هَٰذِهِ (in) this ٱلْقَرْيَةَ city وَكُلُوا۟ and eat مِنْهَا from it حَيْثُ wherever شِئْتُمْ you wish وَقُولُوا۟ and say, حِطَّةٌ "Repentance," وَٱدْخُلُوا۟ and enter ٱلْبَابَ the gate سُجَّدًا prostrating, نَّغْفِرْ We will forgive لَكُمْ for you خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِكُمْ your sins. سَنَزِيدُ We will increase (reward) ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ (of) the good-doers."
English - And [mention, O Muhammad], when it was said to them, "Dwell in this city and eat from it wherever you will and say, 'Relieve us of our burdens,' and enter the gate bowing humbly; We will [then] forgive you your sins. We will increase the doers of good [in goodness and reward]." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 162
فَبَدَّلَ But changed ٱلَّذِينَ those who ظَلَمُوا۟ wronged مِنْهُمْ among them قَوْلًا word غَيْرَ other than ٱلَّذِى (that) which قِيلَ was said لَهُمْ to them. فَأَرْسَلْنَا So We sent عَلَيْهِمْ upon them رِجْزًا torment مِّنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky بِمَا because كَانُوا۟ they were يَظْلِمُونَ doing wrong.
English - But those who wronged among them changed [the words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them. So We sent upon them a punishment from the sky for the wrong that they were doing. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 163
وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ And ask them عَنِ about ٱلْقَرْيَةِ the town ٱلَّتِى which كَانَتْ was حَاضِرَةَ situated ٱلْبَحْرِ (by) the sea, إِذْ when يَعْدُونَ they transgressed فِى in ٱلسَّبْتِ the (matter of) Sabbath, إِذْ when تَأْتِيهِمْ came to them حِيتَانُهُمْ their fish يَوْمَ (on the) day سَبْتِهِمْ (of) their Sabbath شُرَّعًا visibly وَيَوْمَ and (on the) day لَا not يَسْبِتُونَ they had Sabbath لَا (they did) not تَأْتِيهِمْ come to them. كَذَٰلِكَ Thus نَبْلُوهُم We test them بِمَا because كَانُوا۟ they were يَفْسُقُونَ defiantly disobeying.
English - And ask them about the town that was by the sea – when they transgressed in [the matter of] the Sabbath – when their fish came to them openly on their Sabbath day, and the day they had no Sabbath they did not come to them. Thus did We give them trial because they were defiantly disobedient. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 164
وَإِذْ And when قَالَتْ said أُمَّةٌ a community مِّنْهُمْ among them, لِمَ "Why تَعِظُونَ (do) you preach قَوْمًا a people, ٱللَّهُ (whom) Allah مُهْلِكُهُمْ (is going to) destroy them أَوْ or مُعَذِّبُهُمْ punish them عَذَابًا (with) a punishment شَدِيدًا severe?" قَالُوا۟ They said, مَعْذِرَةً "To be absolved إِلَىٰ before رَبِّكُمْ your Lord وَلَعَلَّهُمْ and that they may يَتَّقُونَ become righteous."
English - And when a community among them said, "Why do you advise [or warn] a people whom Allah is [about] to destroy or to punish with a severe punishment?" they [the advisors] said, "To be absolved before your Lord and perhaps they may fear Him." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 165
فَلَمَّا So when نَسُوا۟ they forgot مَا what ذُكِّرُوا۟ they had been reminded بِهِۦٓ with [it], أَنجَيْنَا We saved ٱلَّذِينَ those who يَنْهَوْنَ forbade عَنِ [from] ٱلسُّوٓءِ the evil, وَأَخَذْنَا and We seized ٱلَّذِينَ those who ظَلَمُوا۟ wronged بِعَذَابٍۭ with a punishment بَـِٔيسٍۭ wretched, بِمَا because كَانُوا۟ they were يَفْسُقُونَ defiantly disobeying.
English - And when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged, with a wretched punishment, because they were defiantly disobeying. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 166
فَلَمَّا So when عَتَوْا۟ they exceeded all bounds عَن about مَّا what نُهُوا۟ they were forbidden عَنْهُ from it, قُلْنَا We said لَهُمْ to them, كُونُوا۟ "Be قِرَدَةً apes, خَٰسِـِٔينَ despised."
English - So when they were insolent about that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, "Be apes, despised." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 167
وَإِذْ And when تَأَذَّنَ declared رَبُّكَ your Lord لَيَبْعَثَنَّ that He would surely send عَلَيْهِمْ upon them إِلَىٰ till يَوْمِ (the) Day ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ (of) the Resurrection مَن (those) who يَسُومُهُمْ would afflict them سُوٓءَ (with) a grievous ٱلْعَذَابِ [the] punishment. إِنَّ Indeed, رَبَّكَ your Lord لَسَرِيعُ (is) surely swift ٱلْعِقَابِ (in) the retribution, وَإِنَّهُۥ but indeed, He لَغَفُورٌ (is) surely Oft-Forgiving, رَّحِيمٌ Most Merciful.
English - And [mention] when your Lord declared that He would surely [continue to] send upon them until the Day of Resurrection those who would afflict them with the worst torment. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 168
وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمْ And We divided them فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth أُمَمًا (as) nations. مِّنْهُمُ Among them ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ (are) the righteous وَمِنْهُمْ and among them دُونَ (are) other than ذَٰلِكَ that. وَبَلَوْنَٰهُم And We tested them بِٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ with the good وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ and the bad, لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَرْجِعُونَ return.
English - And We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience]. .

Ayah 169
فَخَلَفَ Then succeeded مِنۢ from بَعْدِهِمْ after them خَلْفٌ successors وَرِثُوا۟ (who) inherited ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Book يَأْخُذُونَ taking عَرَضَ goods هَٰذَا (of) this ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ the lower (life) وَيَقُولُونَ and they say, سَيُغْفَرُ "It will be forgiven لَنَا for us." وَإِن And if يَأْتِهِمْ comes to them عَرَضٌ goods مِّثْلُهُۥ similar to it يَأْخُذُوهُ they will take it. أَلَمْ Was not يُؤْخَذْ taken عَلَيْهِم on them مِّيثَٰقُ Covenant ٱلْكِتَٰبِ (of) the Book أَن that لَّا not يَقُولُوا۟ they will say عَلَى about ٱللَّهِ Allah إِلَّا except ٱلْحَقَّ the truth وَدَرَسُوا۟ while they studied مَا what فِيهِ (is) in it? وَٱلدَّارُ And the home ٱلْءَاخِرَةُ (of) the Hereafter خَيْرٌ (is) better لِّلَّذِينَ for those who يَتَّقُونَ fear Allah. أَفَلَا So will not تَعْقِلُونَ you use intellect?
English - And there followed them successors who inherited the Scripture [while] taking the commodities of this lower life and saying, "It will be forgiven for us." And if an offer like it comes to them, they will [again] take it. Was not the covenant of the Scripture taken from them that they would not say about Allah except the truth, and they studied what was in it? And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear Allah, so will you not use reason? .

Ayah 170
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who يُمَسِّكُونَ hold fast بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ to the Book, وَأَقَامُوا۟ and establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer, إِنَّا indeed, We لَا (will) not نُضِيعُ [We] let go waste أَجْرَ (the) reward ٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ (of) the reformers.
English - But those who hold fast to the Book and establish prayer – indeed, We will not allow to be lost the reward of the reformers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 171
وَإِذْ And when نَتَقْنَا We raised ٱلْجَبَلَ the mountain فَوْقَهُمْ above them كَأَنَّهُۥ as if it was ظُلَّةٌ a canopy وَظَنُّوٓا۟ and they thought أَنَّهُۥ that it وَاقِعٌۢ (would) fall بِهِمْ upon them, خُذُوا۟ (We said), "Take مَآ what ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم We have given you بِقُوَّةٍ with strength وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ and remember مَا what فِيهِ (is) in it لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تَتَّقُونَ fear Allah."
English - And [mention] when We raised the mountain above them as if it was a dark cloud and they were certain that it would fall upon them, [and Allah said], "Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it that you might fear Allah." .

Ayah 172
وَإِذْ And when أَخَذَ (was) taken رَبُّكَ (by) your Lord مِنۢ from بَنِىٓ (the) Children ءَادَمَ (of) Adam - مِن from ظُهُورِهِمْ their loins - ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ their descendants وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ and made them testify عَلَىٰٓ over أَنفُسِهِمْ themselves, أَلَسْتُ "Am I not بِرَبِّكُمْ your Lord?" قَالُوا۟ They said, بَلَىٰ "Yes شَهِدْنَآ we have testified." أَن Lest تَقُولُوا۟ you say يَوْمَ (on the) Day ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ (of) the Resurrection, إِنَّا "Indeed, كُنَّا we were عَنْ about هَٰذَا this غَٰفِلِينَ unaware."
English - And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam – from their loins – their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] – lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 173
أَوْ Or تَقُولُوٓا۟ you say, إِنَّمَآ "Only أَشْرَكَ partners (were) associated (with Allah) ءَابَآؤُنَا (by) our forefathers مِن from قَبْلُ before (us) وَكُنَّا and we are ذُرِّيَّةً descendants مِّنۢ from بَعْدِهِمْ after them. أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا So will You destroy us بِمَا for what فَعَلَ did ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ the falsifiers?"
English - Or [lest] you say, "It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with Allah before, and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?" .

Ayah 174
وَكَذَٰلِكَ And thus نُفَصِّلُ We explain ٱلْءَايَٰتِ the Verses وَلَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَرْجِعُونَ return.
English - And thus do We [explain in] detail the verses, and perhaps they will return. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 175
وَٱتْلُ And recite عَلَيْهِمْ to them نَبَأَ (the) story ٱلَّذِىٓ (of the) one whom ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ We gave [him] ءَايَٰتِنَا Our Verses, فَٱنسَلَخَ but he detached مِنْهَا [from] them, فَأَتْبَعَهُ so followed him ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ the Shaitaan فَكَانَ and he became مِنَ of ٱلْغَاوِينَ those gone astray.
English - And recite to them, [O Muhammad], the news of him to whom we gave [knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 176
وَلَوْ And if شِئْنَا We willed لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ surely, We (could) have raised him بِهَا with these وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ [and] but he أَخْلَدَ adhered إِلَى to ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth وَٱتَّبَعَ and followed هَوَىٰهُ his (vain) desires. فَمَثَلُهُۥ So his example كَمَثَلِ (is) like (the) example ٱلْكَلْبِ (of) the dog, إِن if تَحْمِلْ you attack عَلَيْهِ [on] him, يَلْهَثْ he lolls out his tongue أَوْ or تَتْرُكْهُ if you leave him, يَلْهَث he lolls out his tongue. ذَّٰلِكَ That مَثَلُ (is the) example ٱلْقَوْمِ (of) the people ٱلَّذِينَ who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا [in] Our Signs. فَٱقْصُصِ So relate ٱلْقَصَصَ the story لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَتَفَكَّرُونَ reflect.
English - And if We had willed, we could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered [instead] to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that perhaps they will give thought. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 177
سَآءَ Evil مَثَلًا (as) an example ٱلْقَوْمُ (are) the people ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Signs وَأَنفُسَهُمْ and themselves كَانُوا۟ they used to يَظْلِمُونَ wrong.
English - How evil an example [is that of] the people who denied Our signs and used to wrong themselves. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 178
مَن Whoever يَهْدِ (is) guided ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah فَهُوَ then he ٱلْمُهْتَدِى (is) the guided one وَمَن while whoever يُضْلِلْ He lets go astray فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ then those هُمُ [they] ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ (are) the losers.
English - Whoever Allah guides – he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray – it is those who are the losers. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 179
وَلَقَدْ And certainly ذَرَأْنَا We have created لِجَهَنَّمَ for Hell كَثِيرًا many مِّنَ of ٱلْجِنِّ the jinn وَٱلْإِنسِ and men. لَهُمْ For them قُلُوبٌ (are) hearts لَّا (but) not يَفْقَهُونَ they understand بِهَا with them, وَلَهُمْ and for them أَعْيُنٌ (are) eyes لَّا (but) not يُبْصِرُونَ they see بِهَا with them, وَلَهُمْ and for them ءَاذَانٌ (are) ears لَّا (but) not يَسْمَعُونَ they hear بِهَآ with them. أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ Those كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ (are) like cattle, بَلْ nay هُمْ they أَضَلُّ (are) more astray. أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ Those - هُمُ they ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ (are) the heedless.
English - And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 180
وَلِلَّهِ And for Allah ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ (are) the names - ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ the most beautiful, فَٱدْعُوهُ so invoke Him بِهَا by them. وَذَرُوا۟ And leave ٱلَّذِينَ those who يُلْحِدُونَ deviate فِىٓ concerning أَسْمَٰٓئِهِۦ His names. سَيُجْزَوْنَ They will be recompensed مَا for what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَعْمَلُونَ do.
English - And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing..
हिंदी - .
Ayah 181
وَمِمَّنْ And of (those) whom خَلَقْنَآ We have created أُمَّةٌ (is) a nation, يَهْدُونَ who guides بِٱلْحَقِّ with the truth وَبِهِۦ and thereby يَعْدِلُونَ they establish justice.
English - And among those We created is a community which guides by truth and thereby establishes justice. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 182
وَٱلَّذِينَ But those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا Our Signs, سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم We will gradually lead them مِّنْ from حَيْثُ where لَا not يَعْلَمُونَ they know.
English - But those who deny Our signs – We will progressively lead them [to destruction] from where they do not know. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 183
وَأُمْلِى And I will give respite لَهُمْ to them. إِنَّ Indeed, كَيْدِى My plan مَتِينٌ (is) firm.
English - And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm..
हिंदी - .
Ayah 184
أَوَلَمْ Do not يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ they reflect? مَا Not بِصَاحِبِهِم in their companion مِّن [of] جِنَّةٍ (is) any madness. إِنْ Not هُوَ he إِلَّا (is) but نَذِيرٌ a warner, مُّبِينٌ clear.
English - Then do they not give thought? There is in their companion [Muhammad] no madness. He is not but a clear warner. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 185
أَوَلَمْ Do not يَنظُرُوا۟ they look فِى in مَلَكُوتِ (the) dominion ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَمَا and what خَلَقَ has (been) created ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah مِن of شَىْءٍ (every)thing وَأَنْ and that عَسَىٰٓ perhaps أَن [that] يَكُونَ has قَدِ verily ٱقْتَرَبَ come near - أَجَلُهُمْ their term? فَبِأَىِّ So in what حَدِيثٍۭ statement بَعْدَهُۥ after this يُؤْمِنُونَ will they believe?
English - Do they not look into the realm of the heavens and the earth and everything that Allah has created and [think] that perhaps their appointed time has come near? So in what statement hereafter will they believe? .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 186
مَن Whoever يُضْلِلِ (is) let go astray ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah فَلَا then (there is) no هَادِىَ guide لَهُۥ for him. وَيَذَرُهُمْ And He leaves them فِى in طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ their transgression يَعْمَهُونَ wandering blindly.
English - Whoever Allah sends astray – there is no guide for him. And He leaves them in their transgression, wandering blindly. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 187
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ They ask you عَنِ about ٱلسَّاعَةِ the Hour, أَيَّانَ when will be مُرْسَىٰهَا its appointed time? قُلْ Say, إِنَّمَا "Only عِلْمُهَا its knowledge عِندَ (is) with رَبِّى my Lord, لَا no (one) يُجَلِّيهَا can reveal [it] لِوَقْتِهَآ its time إِلَّا except هُوَ Him. ثَقُلَتْ It lays heavily فِى in ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth. لَا Not تَأْتِيكُمْ will it come to you إِلَّا but بَغْتَةً suddenly." يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ They ask you كَأَنَّكَ as if you حَفِىٌّ (were) well informed عَنْهَا about it. قُلْ Say, إِنَّمَا "Only عِلْمُهَا its knowledge عِندَ (is) with ٱللَّهِ Allah, وَلَٰكِنَّ but أَكْثَرَ most ٱلنَّاسِ (of) the people لَا (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ know."
English - They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly." They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know." .

Ayah 188
قُل Say, لَّآ "Not أَمْلِكُ I have power لِنَفْسِى for myself نَفْعًا (to) benefit وَلَا and no ضَرًّا (power to) harm, إِلَّا except مَا what شَآءَ wills ٱللَّهُ Allah. وَلَوْ And if كُنتُ I would أَعْلَمُ know ٱلْغَيْبَ (of) the unseen لَٱسْتَكْثَرْتُ surely I could have multiplied مِنَ of ٱلْخَيْرِ the good وَمَا and not مَسَّنِىَ (could) have touched me ٱلسُّوٓءُ the evil. إِنْ Not أَنَا۠ (am) I إِلَّا except نَذِيرٌ a warner وَبَشِيرٌ and a bearer of good tidings لِّقَوْمٍ to a people يُؤْمِنُونَ who believe."
English - Say, "I hold not for myself [the power of] benefit or harm, except what Allah has willed. And if I knew the unseen, I could have acquired much wealth, and no harm would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bringer of good tidings to a people who believe." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 189
هُوَ He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who خَلَقَكُم created you مِّن from نَّفْسٍ a soul, وَٰحِدَةٍ single وَجَعَلَ and made مِنْهَا from it زَوْجَهَا its mate لِيَسْكُنَ that he might live إِلَيْهَا with her. فَلَمَّا And when تَغَشَّىٰهَا he covers her, حَمَلَتْ she carries حَمْلًا a burden خَفِيفًا light فَمَرَّتْ and continues بِهِۦ with it. فَلَمَّآ But when أَثْقَلَت she grows heavy, دَّعَوَا they both invoke ٱللَّهَ Allah, رَبَّهُمَا their Lord, لَئِنْ "If ءَاتَيْتَنَا You give us صَٰلِحًا a righteous (child), لَّنَكُونَنَّ surely we will be مِنَ among ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ the thankful."
English - It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues therein. And when it becomes heavy, they both invoke Allah, their Lord, "If You should give us a good [child], we will surely be among the grateful." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 190
فَلَمَّآ But when ءَاتَىٰهُمَا He gives them صَٰلِحًا a good, (child) جَعَلَا they make لَهُۥ for Him شُرَكَآءَ partners فِيمَآ in what ءَاتَىٰهُمَا He has given them. فَتَعَٰلَى But exalted ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah عَمَّا above what يُشْرِكُونَ they associate (with Him).
English - But when He gives them a good [child], they ascribe partners to Him concerning that which He has given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 191
أَيُشْرِكُونَ Do they associate مَا what لَا (can) not يَخْلُقُ create شَيْـًٔا anything وَهُمْ and they يُخْلَقُونَ are created?
English - Do they associate with Him those who create nothing and they are [themselves] created? .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 192
وَلَا And not يَسْتَطِيعُونَ they are able لَهُمْ to (give) them نَصْرًا any help وَلَآ and not أَنفُسَهُمْ themselves يَنصُرُونَ can they help.
English - And the false deities are unable to [give] them help, nor can they help themselves. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 193
وَإِن And if تَدْعُوهُمْ you call them إِلَى to ٱلْهُدَىٰ the guidance, لَا not يَتَّبِعُوكُمْ will they follow you. سَوَآءٌ (It is) same عَلَيْكُمْ for you أَدَعَوْتُمُوهُمْ whether you call them أَمْ or أَنتُمْ you صَٰمِتُونَ remain silent.
English - And if you [believers] invite them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is all the same for you whether you invite them or you are silent. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 194
إِنَّ Indeed, ٱلَّذِينَ those whom تَدْعُونَ you call مِن from دُونِ besides ٱللَّهِ Allah عِبَادٌ (are) slaves أَمْثَالُكُمْ like you. فَٱدْعُوهُمْ So invoke them فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ and let them respond لَكُمْ to you, إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَٰدِقِينَ truthful.
English - Indeed, those you [polytheists] call upon besides Allah are servants like you. So call upon them and let them respond to you, if you should be truthful. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 195
أَلَهُمْ Are for them أَرْجُلٌ feet يَمْشُونَ (to) walk بِهَآ with [it], أَمْ or لَهُمْ for them أَيْدٍ hands يَبْطِشُونَ (to) hold بِهَآ with [it], أَمْ or لَهُمْ for them أَعْيُنٌ eyes يُبْصِرُونَ (to) see بِهَآ with [it], أَمْ or لَهُمْ for them ءَاذَانٌ ears يَسْمَعُونَ (to) hear بِهَا with [it]? قُلِ Say, ٱدْعُوا۟ "Call شُرَكَآءَكُمْ your partners, ثُمَّ then كِيدُونِ scheme against me فَلَا and (do) not تُنظِرُونِ give me respite."
English - Do they have feet by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they strike? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, [O Muhammad], "Call your 'partners' and then conspire against me and give me no respite. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 196
إِنَّ Indeed, وَلِۦِّىَ my protector ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah ٱلَّذِى the One Who نَزَّلَ revealed ٱلْكِتَٰبَ the Book. وَهُوَ And He يَتَوَلَّى protects ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ the righteous.
English - Indeed, my protector is Allah, who has sent down the Book; and He is an ally to the righteous. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 197
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those whom تَدْعُونَ you invoke مِن from دُونِهِۦ besides Him, لَا not يَسْتَطِيعُونَ they are able نَصْرَكُمْ (to) help you وَلَآ and not أَنفُسَهُمْ themselves يَنصُرُونَ can they help.
English - And those you call upon besides Him are unable to help you, nor can they help themselves." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 198
وَإِن And if تَدْعُوهُمْ you call them إِلَى to ٱلْهُدَىٰ the guidance لَا not يَسْمَعُوا۟ do they not. وَتَرَىٰهُمْ And you see them يَنظُرُونَ looking إِلَيْكَ at you وَهُمْ but they - لَا not يُبْصِرُونَ (do) they see.
English - And if you invite them to guidance, they do not hear; and you see them looking at you while they do not see. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 199
خُذِ Hold ٱلْعَفْوَ (to) forgiveness وَأْمُرْ and enjoin بِٱلْعُرْفِ the good, وَأَعْرِضْ and turn away عَنِ from ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ the ignorant.
English - Take what is given freely, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 200
وَإِمَّا And if يَنزَغَنَّكَ an evil suggestion comes to you مِنَ from ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ [the] Shaitaan نَزْغٌ [an evil suggestion], فَٱسْتَعِذْ then seek refuge بِٱللَّهِ in Allah. إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He سَمِيعٌ (is) All-Hearing, عَلِيمٌ All-Knowing.
English - And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is Hearing and Knowing. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 201
إِنَّ Indeed, ٱلَّذِينَ those who ٱتَّقَوْا۟ fear (Allah) إِذَا when مَسَّهُمْ touches them طَٰٓئِفٌ an evil thought مِّنَ from ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ the Shaitaan, تَذَكَّرُوا۟ they remember (Allah) فَإِذَا and then هُم they مُّبْصِرُونَ (are) those who see (aright).
English - Indeed, those who fear Allah – when an impulse touches them from Satan, they remember [Him] and at once they have insight. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 202
وَإِخْوَٰنُهُمْ But their brothers يَمُدُّونَهُمْ they plunge them فِى in ٱلْغَىِّ the error, ثُمَّ then لَا not يُقْصِرُونَ they cease.
English - But their brothers – the devils increase them in error; then they do not stop short. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 203
وَإِذَا And when لَمْ not تَأْتِهِم you bring them بِـَٔايَةٍ a Sign قَالُوا۟ they say, لَوْلَا "Why (have) not ٱجْتَبَيْتَهَا you devised it?" قُلْ Say, إِنَّمَآ "Only أَتَّبِعُ I follow مَا what يُوحَىٰٓ is revealed إِلَىَّ to me مِن from رَّبِّى my Lord. هَٰذَا This (is) بَصَآئِرُ enlightenment مِن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord وَهُدًى and guidance وَرَحْمَةٌ and mercy لِّقَوْمٍ for a people يُؤْمِنُونَ who believe."
English - And when you, [O Muhammad], do not bring them a sign, they say, "Why have you not contrived it?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This [Qur’'an] is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe." .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 204
وَإِذَا And when قُرِئَ is recited ٱلْقُرْءَانُ the Quran, فَٱسْتَمِعُوا۟ then listen لَهُۥ to it وَأَنصِتُوا۟ and pay attention لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تُرْحَمُونَ receive mercy.
English - So when the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy. .
हिंदी - .
Ayah 205
وَٱذْكُر And remember رَّبَّكَ your Lord فِى in نَفْسِكَ yourself تَضَرُّعًا humbly وَخِيفَةً and (in) fear وَدُونَ and without ٱلْجَهْرِ the loudness مِنَ of ٱلْقَوْلِ [the] words, بِٱلْغُدُوِّ in the mornings وَٱلْءَاصَالِ and (in) the evenings. وَلَا And (do) not تَكُن be مِّنَ among ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ the heedless.
English - And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech – in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless. .

Ayah 206
إِنَّ Indeed, ٱلَّذِينَ those who عِندَ (are) near رَبِّكَ your Lord, لَا not يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ (do) they turn away in pride عَنْ from عِبَادَتِهِۦ His worship. وَيُسَبِّحُونَهُۥ And they glorify Him وَلَهُۥ and to Him يَسْجُدُونَ they prostrate.
English - Indeed, those who are near your Lord are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate. .
