Ayah 1
نٓ Nun. وَٱلْقَلَمِ By the pen وَمَا and what يَسْطُرُونَ they write,
English - Nūn. By the pen and what they inscribe, .
हिंदी - नून। क़सम है क़लम की और उस की जो वह लिखते हैं ।.
Ayah 2
مَآ Not أَنتَ you (are), بِنِعْمَةِ by (the) Grace رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord, بِمَجْنُونٍ a madman.
English - You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman. .
हिंदी - तुम अपने रब के करम से दिवाने नहीं हो।.
Ayah 3
وَإِنَّ And indeed, لَكَ for you لَأَجْرًا surely (is) a reward غَيْرَ without مَمْنُونٍ end.
English - And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted. .
हिंदी - बेशक तुम्हारे लिए कभी न ख़त्म होने वला बदला है।.
Ayah 4
وَإِنَّكَ And indeed, you لَعَلَىٰ surely (are) خُلُقٍ (of) a moral character عَظِيمٍ great.
English - And indeed, you are of a great moral character. .
हिंदी - और तुम नैतिकता के बड़े दरजे पर हो।.
Ayah 5
فَسَتُبْصِرُ So you will see وَيُبْصِرُونَ and they will see,
English - So you will see and they will see .
हिंदी - तुम भी देख लोगे और वह भी देख लेंगे।.
Ayah 6
بِأَييِّكُمُ Which of you ٱلْمَفْتُونُ (is) the afflicted one.
English - Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil]. .
हिंदी - कि तुम में दीवाना कौन है।.
Ayah 7
إِنَّ Indeed, رَبَّكَ your Lord, هُوَ He أَعْلَمُ (is) most knowing بِمَن of (he) who ضَلَّ has strayed عَن from سَبِيلِهِۦ His way, وَهُوَ and He أَعْلَمُ (is) most knowing بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ of the guided ones.
English - Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided. .
हिंदी - बेशक तुम्हारा रब ख़ूब जानता है जो उस के रास्ते से भटक गया है और वह सीधे रास्ते वालों को भी खूब जानता है।.
Ayah 8
فَلَا So (do) not تُطِعِ obey ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ the deniers.
English - Then do not obey the deniers. .
हिंदी - तो तुम झुठलाने वालों का कहा न मानो।.
Ayah 9
وَدُّوا۟ They wish لَوْ that تُدْهِنُ you should compromise, فَيُدْهِنُونَ so they would compromise.
English - They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you]. .
हिंदी - वह चाहते हैं कि तुम नर्मी करो तो वह भी नर्मी करें ।.
Ayah 10
وَلَا And (do) not تُطِعْ obey كُلَّ every حَلَّافٍ habitual swearer مَّهِينٍ worthless,
English - And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer .
हिंदी - और तुम हर क़समें खाने वाले ज़लील का कहा न मानो।.
Ayah 11
هَمَّازٍ Defamer مَّشَّآءٍۭ going about بِنَمِيمٍ with malicious gossip,
English - [And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip – .
हिंदी - ताने देने वालाए चुग़लियाँ करने वाला।.
Ayah 12
مَّنَّاعٍ A preventer, لِّلْخَيْرِ of (the) good, مُعْتَدٍ transgressor, أَثِيمٍ sinful,
English - A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful, .
हिंदी - भलाई से रोकने वाला, हद से आगे बढ़ जाने वाला, गुनाहगार।.
Ayah 13
عُتُلٍّۭ Cruel, بَعْدَ after ذَٰلِكَ (all) that زَنِيمٍ utterly useless.
English - Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender. .
हिंदी - अत्याचारी है, और इन सब दोषों के साथ अधम भी है।.
Ayah 14
أَن Because كَانَ (he) is ذَا a possessor مَالٍ (of) wealth وَبَنِينَ and children,
English - Because he is a possessor of wealth and children, .
हिंदी - इस लिए कि वह माल वाला और औलाद वाला है।.
Ayah 15
إِذَا When تُتْلَىٰ are recited عَلَيْهِ to him ءَايَٰتُنَا Our Verses, قَالَ he says, أَسَٰطِيرُ "Stories ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) the former (people)."
English - When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." .
हिंदी - जब उसे हमारी आयतें पढ़ कर सुनाई जाती हैं तो वह कहता है यह पहले लोगों के अफ़साने हैं।.
Ayah 16
سَنَسِمُهُۥ We will brand him عَلَى on ٱلْخُرْطُومِ the snout.
English - We will brand him upon the snout. .
हिंदी - हम इसकी सूँड पर दाग़ लागाऐंगे।.
Ayah 17
إِنَّا Indeed, We بَلَوْنَٰهُمْ have tried them كَمَا as بَلَوْنَآ We tried أَصْحَٰبَ (the) companions ٱلْجَنَّةِ (of) the garden, إِذْ when أَقْسَمُوا۟ they swore لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا to pluck its fruit مُصْبِحِينَ (in the) morning,
English - Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning .
हिंदी - बेशक हम ने उन्हें आज़माया, ज़ैसे हम ने आज़माया था बाग़ वालों को जब उन्हों ने क़सम खाई कि हम सुबह होते ही उस का फल ज़रूर तोड़ लेंगे।.
Ayah 18
وَلَا And not يَسْتَثْنُونَ making exception.
English - Without making exception. .
हिंदी - और वह कोई छूट नहीं रख रहे थे।.
Ayah 19
فَطَافَ So there came عَلَيْهَا upon it طَآئِفٌ a visitation مِّن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord, وَهُمْ while they نَآئِمُونَ were asleep.
English - So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep. .
हिंदी - तो ये लोग सो ही रहे थे कि तुम्हारे रब की तरफ से एक आफ़त उन पर गुज़री ।.
Ayah 20
فَأَصْبَحَتْ So it became كَٱلصَّرِيمِ as if reaped.
English - And it became as though reaped. .
हिंदी - तो वह कटी हुई फ़सल की तरह हो गए।.
Ayah 21
فَتَنَادَوْا۟ And they called one another مُصْبِحِينَ (at) morning,
English - And they called one another at morning, .
हिंदी - सुबह उन लोगों ने एक दूसरे को पुकारा ।.
Ayah 22
أَنِ That ٱغْدُوا۟ "Go early عَلَىٰ to حَرْثِكُمْ your crop إِن if كُنتُمْ you would صَٰرِمِينَ pluck (the) fruit."
English - [Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit." .
हिंदी - कि अगर तुम्हें फल तोड़ना है तो अपने बाग़ में सवेरे सवेरे चलो।.
Ayah 23
فَٱنطَلَقُوا۟ So they went, وَهُمْ while they يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ lowered (their) voices,
English - So they set out, while lowering their voices, .
हिंदी - फिर वह चले, और वह आपस में चुपके चुपके कह रहे थे।.
Ayah 24
أَن That لَّا "Not يَدْخُلَنَّهَا will enter it ٱلْيَوْمَ today عَلَيْكُم upon you مِّسْكِينٌ any poor person."
English - [Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person." .
हिंदी - कि आज यहाँ तुम्हारे पास कोई फ़क़ीर आने न पाए।.
Ayah 25
وَغَدَوْا۟ And they went early عَلَىٰ with حَرْدٍ determination قَٰدِرِينَ able.
English - And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able. .
हिंदी - वह सुबह ही चल दिए ताकि वह रोकने पर ताक़त रख सकें।.
Ayah 26
فَلَمَّا But when رَأَوْهَا they saw it, قَالُوٓا۟ they said, إِنَّا "Indeed, we لَضَآلُّونَ (are) surely lost.
English - But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost; .
हिंदी - फिर जब उन्हों ने उसे देखा तो वह बोले कि बेशक हम राह भूल गए हैं।.
Ayah 27
بَلْ Nay! نَحْنُ We مَحْرُومُونَ (are) deprived."
English - Rather, we have been deprived." .
हिंदी - नहीं बल्कि हम बद नसीब हो गए हैं।.
Ayah 28
قَالَ Said أَوْسَطُهُمْ (the) most moderate of them, أَلَمْ "Did not أَقُل I tell لَّكُمْ you, لَوْلَا 'Why not تُسَبِّحُونَ you glorify (Allah)?'"
English - The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]?' " .
हिंदी - तो बोला उन में से एक बीच का, क्या मैं ने तुम से नहीं कहा था, कि तुम महिमा क्यों नहीं करते।.
Ayah 29
قَالُوا۟ They said, سُبْحَٰنَ "Glory be رَبِّنَآ (to) our Lord! إِنَّا Indeed, we كُنَّا [we] were ظَٰلِمِينَ wrongdoers."
English - They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers." .
हिंदी - वह बोले हमारा रब पाक है, बेशक हम ही क़ुसूरवार हैं।.
Ayah 30
فَأَقْبَلَ Then approached, بَعْضُهُمْ some of them عَلَىٰ to بَعْضٍ others يَتَلَٰوَمُونَ blaming each other.
English - Then they approached one another, blaming each other. .
हिंदी - फिर वह एक दूसरे को बुरा भला कहने लगे।.
Ayah 31
قَالُوا۟ They said, يَٰوَيْلَنَآ "O woe to us! إِنَّا Indeed, we كُنَّا [we] were طَٰغِينَ transgressors.
English - They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors. .
हिंदी - सबने कहा कि हाए अफसोस बेशक हम ही सरकश थे।.
Ayah 32
عَسَىٰ Perhaps, رَبُّنَآ our Lord, أَن [that] يُبْدِلَنَا will substitute for us خَيْرًا a better مِّنْهَآ than it. إِنَّآ Indeed, we إِلَىٰ to رَبِّنَا our Lord رَٰغِبُونَ turn devoutly."
English - Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous." .
हिंदी - उम्मीद है किए हमारा रब हमें इससे बेहतर बदला देगाए हम अपने रब की तरफ उम्मीद के साथ लोटते हैं।.
Ayah 33
كَذَٰلِكَ Such ٱلْعَذَابُ (is) the punishment. وَلَعَذَابُ And surely the punishment ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ (of) the Hereafter أَكْبَرُ (is) greater, لَوْ if كَانُوا۟ they يَعْلَمُونَ know.
English - Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew. .
हिंदी - एैसी होती है सज़ा और आख़िरत की सज़ा इससे भी बड़ी है काश ये लोग इसे जानते।.
Ayah 34
إِنَّ Indeed, لِلْمُتَّقِينَ for the righteous عِندَ with رَبِّهِمْ their Lord جَنَّٰتِ (are) Gardens ٱلنَّعِيمِ (of) Delight.
English - Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure. .
हिंदी - बेशक परहेज़गार लोग अपने रब के यहाँ एैशो आराम के बाग़ों में होंगे।.
Ayah 35
أَفَنَجْعَلُ Then will We treat ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ the Muslims كَٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ like the criminals?
English - Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals? .
हिंदी - तो क्या हम मुस्लिमों को अपराधियों जैसा कर देंगे.
Ayah 36
مَا What لَكُمْ (is) for you? كَيْفَ How تَحْكُمُونَ (do) you judge?
English - What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge? .
हिंदी - तुम लोगों को क्या हो गया हैए तुम कैसे फैसले करते हो ।.
Ayah 37
أَمْ Or لَكُمْ (is) for you كِتَٰبٌ a book فِيهِ wherein تَدْرُسُونَ you learn,
English - Or do you have a scripture in which you learn .
हिंदी - या तुम्हारे पास कोई किताब है, जिसमें तुम पढ़ लेते हो।.
Ayah 38
إِنَّ Indeed لَكُمْ for you فِيهِ in it لَمَا what تَخَيَّرُونَ you choose?
English - That indeed for you is whatever you choose? .
हिंदी - कि उसमें तुम्हारे लिए वह कुछ है जो तुम पसन्द करो ?.
Ayah 39
أَمْ Or لَكُمْ for you أَيْمَٰنٌ oaths عَلَيْنَا from us, بَٰلِغَةٌ reaching إِلَىٰ to يَوْمِ (the) Day ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ (of) the Resurrection, إِنَّ indeed, لَكُمْ for you لَمَا (is) what تَحْكُمُونَ you judge?
English - Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge? .
हिंदी - या तुम ने हमसे क़समें ले रखी हैं जो क़यामत के दिन तक बाक़ी रहेगी कि तुम्हारे लिए वही कुछ है जिसका तुम फ़ैसला करो।.
Ayah 40
سَلْهُمْ Ask them, أَيُّهُم which of them بِذَٰلِكَ for that زَعِيمٌ (is) responsible.
English - Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible. .
हिंदी - उनसे पूछो कि उनमें कौन इसकी ज़मानत लेता है।.
Ayah 41
أَمْ Or لَهُمْ (are) for them شُرَكَآءُ partners? فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ Then let them bring بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ their partners, إِن if كَانُوا۟ they are صَٰدِقِينَ truthful.
English - Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful. .
हिंदी - या उनके कुछ साझीदार हैं तो अगर ये लोग सच्चे हैं तो अपने शरीकों को ले आऐं ।.
Ayah 42
يَوْمَ (The) Day يُكْشَفُ will be uncovered عَن from سَاقٍ the shin وَيُدْعَوْنَ and they will be called إِلَى to ٱلسُّجُودِ prostrate, فَلَا but not يَسْتَطِيعُونَ they will be able,
English - The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able, .
हिंदी - जिस दिन पिंडली खोल दि जाएगी और लोगों को सजदों के लिए कहा जाएगा तो ये न कर सकेंगे।.
Ayah 43
خَٰشِعَةً Humbled, أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ their eyes, تَرْهَقُهُمْ will cover them ذِلَّةٌ humiliation. وَقَدْ And indeed, كَانُوا۟ they were يُدْعَوْنَ called إِلَى to ٱلسُّجُودِ prostrate وَهُمْ while they سَٰلِمُونَ (were) sound.
English - Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound. .
हिंदी - इनकी निगाहें नीची होंगी ज़िल्लत इन पर छा रही होगीए इन्हें सजदे के लिए बुलाया जाता थाए जब यह भले चंगे थे।.
Ayah 44
فَذَرْنِى So leave Me وَمَن and whoever يُكَذِّبُ denies بِهَٰذَا this ٱلْحَدِيثِ Statement, سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم We will progressively lead them مِّنْ from حَيْثُ where لَا not يَعْلَمُونَ they know.
English - So leave Me, [O Muhammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies the Qur’an. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know. .
हिंदी - तो मुझे छोड़ दो उन लोगों के लिए जो इस बात को झुठलाते हैंए हम इनको आहिस्ता आहिस्ता इस तरह पकड़ लेंगे कि इनको ख़बर भी न होगी।.
Ayah 45
وَأُمْلِى And I will give respite لَهُمْ to them. إِنَّ Indeed, كَيْدِى My plan مَتِينٌ (is) firm.
English - And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm. .
हिंदी - मैं इन्हें ढ़ील दे रहा हूँ मेरी चाल बड़ी मज़बूत है।.
Ayah 46
أَمْ Or تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ you ask them أَجْرًا a payment, فَهُم so they مِّن from مَّغْرَمٍ (the) debt مُّثْقَلُونَ (are) burdened?
English - Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? .
हिंदी - क्या तुम उन से कोई बदला मांगते हो कि उन पर तावान का बोझ पड़ रहा है।.
Ayah 47
أَمْ Or عِندَهُمُ (is) with them ٱلْغَيْبُ the unseen, فَهُمْ so they يَكْتُبُونَ write it?
English - Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? .
हिंदी - या उनके पास गै़ब कि ख़बर है कि यह लोग लिख लिया करते हैं।.
Ayah 48
فَٱصْبِرْ So be patient لِحُكْمِ for (the) decision رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord, وَلَا and (do) not تَكُن be كَصَاحِبِ like (the) companion ٱلْحُوتِ (of) the fish, إِذْ when نَادَىٰ he called out, وَهُوَ while he مَكْظُومٌ (was) distressed.
English - Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed. .
हिंदी - तो तुम अपने रब का फैसला होने तक सब्र करो और मछली वाले की तरह न हो जाओ जब उसने पुकारा और वह ग़म में घुट रहा था।.
Ayah 49
لَّوْلَآ If not أَن that تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ overtook him نِعْمَةٌ a Favor مِّن from رَّبِّهِۦ his Lord, لَنُبِذَ surely he would have been thrown بِٱلْعَرَآءِ onto (the) naked shore وَهُوَ while he مَذْمُومٌ (was) blamed.
English - If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured. .
हिंदी - अगर उस के रब की कृपा उस के साथ न होती तो वह ज़रूर चटियल मैदान में बुरी हालत में फेंकदिया जाता।.
Ayah 50
فَٱجْتَبَٰهُ But chose him, رَبُّهُۥ his Lord, فَجَعَلَهُۥ and made him مِنَ of ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ the righteous.
English - And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous. .
हिंदी - तो उस के रब ने उसे चुन लिया और उसे नेक बन्दों में शामिल कर लिया।.
Ayah 51
وَإِن And indeed, يَكَادُ would almost ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve, لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ surely make you slip بِأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ with their look لَمَّا when سَمِعُوا۟ they hear ٱلذِّكْرَ the Message, وَيَقُولُونَ and they say, إِنَّهُۥ "Indeed, he لَمَجْنُونٌ (is) surely mad."
English - And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad." .
हिंदी - और ये अधर्मी लोग क़रीब है की तुम्हें अपनी निगाहों के ज़ोर से डगमगा देंए जब नसीहत की बात सनते हैं और वह कहते हैं ये तो पागल है।.
Ayah 52
وَمَا And not هُوَ it (is) إِلَّا but ذِكْرٌ a Reminder لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ to the worlds.
English - But it is not except a reminder to the worlds. .
हिंदी - हालांकि यह तो सारे जहान वालों के लिए नसीहत है।.
