Ayah 1
سَبَّحَ Glorifies لِلَّهِ Allah مَا whatever فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَمَا and whatever فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth. وَهُوَ And He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty, ٱلْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise.
English - Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth exalts Allah, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. .
Ayah 2
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا O ٱلَّذِينَ (you) who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe! لِمَ Why تَقُولُونَ (do) you say مَا what لَا not تَفْعَلُونَ you do?
English - O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? .
Ayah 3
كَبُرَ Great is مَقْتًا hatred عِندَ with ٱللَّهِ Allah أَن that تَقُولُوا۟ you say مَا what لَا not تَفْعَلُونَ you do?
English - Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do. .
Ayah 4
إِنَّ Indeed, ٱللَّهَ Allah يُحِبُّ loves ٱلَّذِينَ those who يُقَٰتِلُونَ fight فِى in سَبِيلِهِۦ His Way صَفًّا (in) a row كَأَنَّهُم as if they بُنْيَٰنٌ (were) a structure مَّرْصُوصٌ joined firmly.
English - Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly. .
Ayah 5
وَإِذْ And when قَالَ said مُوسَىٰ Musa لِقَوْمِهِۦ to his people, يَٰقَوْمِ "O my people! لِمَ Why تُؤْذُونَنِى do you hurt me وَقَد while certainly تَّعْلَمُونَ you know أَنِّى that I am رَسُولُ (the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah إِلَيْكُمْ to you?" فَلَمَّا Then when زَاغُوٓا۟ they deviated, أَزَاغَ (was caused to) deviate ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah قُلُوبَهُمْ their hearts. وَٱللَّهُ And Allah لَا (does) not يَهْدِى guide ٱلْقَوْمَ the people, ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ the defiantly disobedient.
English - And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you harm me while you certainly know that I am the messenger of Allah to you?" And when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. .
Ayah 6
وَإِذْ And when قَالَ said عِيسَى Isa, ٱبْنُ son مَرْيَمَ (of) Maryam, يَٰبَنِىٓ "O Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel! إِنِّى Indeed, I am رَسُولُ (the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah إِلَيْكُم to you, مُّصَدِّقًا confirming لِّمَا that which بَيْنَ (was) between يَدَىَّ my hands مِنَ of ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ the Taurat وَمُبَشِّرًۢا and bringing glad tidings بِرَسُولٍ (of) a Messenger يَأْتِى to come مِنۢ from بَعْدِى after me, ٱسْمُهُۥٓ whose name (will be) أَحْمَدُ Ahmad." فَلَمَّا But when جَآءَهُم he came to them بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ with clear proofs, قَالُوا۟ they said, هَٰذَا "This سِحْرٌ (is) a magic مُّبِينٌ clear."
English - And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic." .
Ayah 7
وَمَنْ And who أَظْلَمُ (is) more wrong مِمَّنِ than (one) who ٱفْتَرَىٰ invents عَلَى upon ٱللَّهِ Allah ٱلْكَذِبَ the lie وَهُوَ while he يُدْعَىٰٓ is invited إِلَى to ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ Islam? وَٱللَّهُ And Allah لَا (does) not يَهْدِى guide ٱلْقَوْمَ the people ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ [the] wrongdoers.
English - And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah untruth while he is being invited to Islam. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. .
Ayah 8
يُرِيدُونَ They intend لِيُطْفِـُٔوا۟ to put out نُورَ (the) light ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ with their mouths, وَٱللَّهُ but Allah مُتِمُّ will perfect نُورِهِۦ His Light وَلَوْ although كَرِهَ dislike ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ the disbelievers.
English - They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it. .
Ayah 9
هُوَ He ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) the One Who أَرْسَلَ sent رَسُولَهُۥ His Messenger بِٱلْهُدَىٰ with guidance وَدِينِ and (the) religion ٱلْحَقِّ (of) the truth, لِيُظْهِرَهُۥ to make it prevail عَلَى over ٱلدِّينِ the religion كُلِّهِۦ all of them, وَلَوْ although كَرِهَ dislike (it) ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ the polytheists.
English - It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although those who associate others with Allah dislike it. .
Ayah 10
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا O ٱلَّذِينَ (you) who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe! هَلْ Shall أَدُلُّكُمْ I guide you عَلَىٰ to تِجَٰرَةٍ a transaction تُنجِيكُم (that) will save you مِّنْ from عَذَابٍ a punishment أَلِيمٍ painful?
English - O you who have believed, shall I guide you to a transaction that will save you from a painful punishment? .
Ayah 11
تُؤْمِنُونَ Believe بِٱللَّهِ in Allah وَرَسُولِهِۦ and His Messenger وَتُجَٰهِدُونَ and strive فِى in سَبِيلِ (the) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah بِأَمْوَٰلِكُمْ with your wealth وَأَنفُسِكُمْ and your lives. ذَٰلِكُمْ That خَيْرٌ (is) better لَّكُمْ for you إِن if كُنتُمْ you تَعْلَمُونَ know.
English - [It is that] you believe in Allah and His Messenger and strive in the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you, if you should know. .
Ayah 12
يَغْفِرْ He will forgive لَكُمْ for you ذُنُوبَكُمْ your sins وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ and admit you جَنَّٰتٍ (in) Gardens تَجْرِى flow مِن from تَحْتِهَا underneath it ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ the rivers وَمَسَٰكِنَ and dwellings طَيِّبَةً pleasant فِى in جَنَّٰتِ Gardens عَدْنٍ (of) Eternity. ذَٰلِكَ That ٱلْفَوْزُ (is) the success ٱلْعَظِيمُ the great.
English - He will forgive for you your sins and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence. That is the great attainment. .
Ayah 13
وَأُخْرَىٰ And another تُحِبُّونَهَا that you love - نَصْرٌ a help مِّنَ from ٱللَّهِ Allah وَفَتْحٌ and a victory قَرِيبٌ near; وَبَشِّرِ and give glad tidings ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (to) the believers.
English - And [you will obtain] another [favor] that you love – victory from Allah and an imminent conquest; and give good tidings to the believers. .
Ayah 14
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا O you ٱلَّذِينَ who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe! كُونُوٓا۟ Be أَنصَارَ helpers ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah كَمَا as قَالَ said عِيسَى Isa, ٱبْنُ son مَرْيَمَ (of) Maryam, لِلْحَوَارِيِّۦنَ to the disciples, مَنْ "Who أَنصَارِىٓ (are) my helpers إِلَى for ٱللَّهِ Allah?" قَالَ Said ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ the disciples, نَحْنُ "We أَنصَارُ (are) the helpers ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah." فَـَٔامَنَت Then believed طَّآئِفَةٌ a group مِّنۢ of بَنِىٓ Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel وَكَفَرَت and disbelieved طَّآئِفَةٌ a group. فَأَيَّدْنَا So We supported ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed عَلَىٰ against عَدُوِّهِمْ their enemy فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ and they became ظَٰهِرِينَ dominant.
English - O you who have believed, be supporters of Allah, as when Jesus, the son of Mary, said to the disciples, "Who are my supporters for Allah?" The disciples said, "We are supporters of Allah." And a faction of the Children of Israel believed and a faction disbelieved. So We supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became dominant. .
