Ayah
1
ٱلْحَمْدُ
All Praise
لِلَّهِ
(is) for Allah
ٱلَّذِىٓ
the One Who
أَنزَلَ
(has) revealed
عَلَىٰ
to
عَبْدِهِ
His slave
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book,
وَلَمْ
and not
يَجْعَل
(has) made
لَّهُۥ
in it
عِوَجَا
any crookedness.
Ayah
2
قَيِّمًا
Straight,
لِّيُنذِرَ
to warn
بَأْسًا
(of) a punishment
شَدِيدًا
severe,
مِّن
from
لَّدُنْهُ
near Him,
وَيُبَشِّرَ
and give glad tidings
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
(to) the believers,
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يَعْمَلُونَ
do
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
righteous deeds,
أَنَّ
that
لَهُمْ
for them
أَجْرًا
(is) a good reward.
حَسَنًا
(is) a good reward.
Ayah
3
مَّٰكِثِينَ
(They will) abide
فِيهِ
in it
أَبَدًا
forever.
Ayah
4
وَيُنذِرَ
And to warn
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
قَالُوا۟
say,
ٱتَّخَذَ
"Allah has taken
ٱللَّهُ
"Allah has taken
وَلَدًا
a son."
Ayah
5
مَّا
Not
لَهُم
they have
بِهِۦ
about it
مِنْ
any
عِلْمٍ
knowledge
وَلَا
and not
لِءَابَآئِهِمْ
their forefathers.
كَبُرَتْ
Grave (is)
كَلِمَةً
the word
تَخْرُجُ
(that) comes out
مِنْ
of
أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ
their mouths.
إِن
Not
يَقُولُونَ
they say
إِلَّا
except
كَذِبًا
a lie.
Ayah
6
فَلَعَلَّكَ
Then perhaps you would (be)
بَٰخِعٌ
the one who kills
نَّفْسَكَ
yourself
عَلَىٰٓ
over
ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ
their footsteps,
إِن
if
لَّمْ
not
يُؤْمِنُوا۟
they believe
بِهَٰذَا
in this
ٱلْحَدِيثِ
[the] narration,
أَسَفًا
(in) grief.
Ayah
7
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
جَعَلْنَا
We have made
مَا
what
عَلَى
(is) on
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the earth
زِينَةً
adornment
لَّهَا
for it,
لِنَبْلُوَهُمْ
that We may test [them]
أَيُّهُمْ
which of them
أَحْسَنُ
(is) best
عَمَلًا
(in) deed.
Ayah
8
وَإِنَّا
And indeed, We
لَجَٰعِلُونَ
(will) surely make
مَا
what
عَلَيْهَا
(is) on it
صَعِيدًا
soil
جُرُزًا
barren.
Ayah
9
أَمْ
Or
حَسِبْتَ
have you thought
أَنَّ
that
أَصْحَٰبَ
(the) companions
ٱلْكَهْفِ
(of) the cave
وَٱلرَّقِيمِ
and the inscription
كَانُوا۟
were,
مِنْ
among
ءَايَٰتِنَا
Our Signs,
عَجَبًا
a wonder?
Ayah
10
إِذْ
When
أَوَى
retreated
ٱلْفِتْيَةُ
the youths
إِلَى
to
ٱلْكَهْفِ
the cave,
فَقَالُوا۟
and they said,
رَبَّنَآ
"Our Lord!
ءَاتِنَا
Grant us
مِن
from
لَّدُنكَ
Yourself
رَحْمَةً
Mercy,
وَهَيِّئْ
and facilitate
لَنَا
for us
مِنْ
[from]
أَمْرِنَا
our affair
رَشَدًا
(in the) right way."
Ayah
11
فَضَرَبْنَا
So We cast
عَلَىٰٓ
over
ءَاذَانِهِمْ
their ears
فِى
in
ٱلْكَهْفِ
the cave
سِنِينَ
years -
عَدَدًا
a number.
Ayah
12
ثُمَّ
Then
بَعَثْنَٰهُمْ
We raised them up
لِنَعْلَمَ
that We make evident
أَىُّ
which
ٱلْحِزْبَيْنِ
(of) the two parties
أَحْصَىٰ
best calculated
لِمَا
for what
لَبِثُوٓا۟
(they had) remained
أَمَدًا
(in) time.
Ayah
13
نَّحْنُ
We
نَقُصُّ
narrate
عَلَيْكَ
to you
نَبَأَهُم
their story
بِٱلْحَقِّ
in truth.
إِنَّهُمْ
Indeed, they (were)
فِتْيَةٌ
youths
ءَامَنُوا۟
who believed
بِرَبِّهِمْ
in their Lord,
وَزِدْنَٰهُمْ
and We increased them
هُدًى
(in) guidance.
Ayah
14
وَرَبَطْنَا
And We made firm
عَلَىٰ
[on]
قُلُوبِهِمْ
their hearts
إِذْ
when
قَامُوا۟
they stood up
فَقَالُوا۟
and said,
رَبُّنَا
"Our Lord
رَبُّ
(is) the Lord
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth.
لَن
Never
نَّدْعُوَا۟
we will invoke
مِن
besides Him
دُونِهِۦٓ
besides Him
إِلَٰهًا
any god.
لَّقَدْ
Certainly,
قُلْنَآ
we would have said,
إِذًا
then,
شَطَطًا
an enormity.
Ayah
15
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
These,
قَوْمُنَا
our people,
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
have taken
مِن
besides Him
دُونِهِۦٓ
besides Him
ءَالِهَةً
gods.
لَّوْلَا
Why not
يَأْتُونَ
they come
عَلَيْهِم
to them
بِسُلْطَٰنٍۭ
with an authority
بَيِّنٍ
clear?
فَمَنْ
And who
أَظْلَمُ
(is) more wrong
مِمَّنِ
than (one) who
ٱفْتَرَىٰ
invents
عَلَى
against
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
كَذِبًا
a lie?
Ayah
16
وَإِذِ
And when
ٱعْتَزَلْتُمُوهُمْ
you withdraw from them
وَمَا
and what
يَعْبُدُونَ
they worship
إِلَّا
except
ٱللَّهَ
Allah,
فَأْوُۥٓا۟
then retreat
إِلَى
to
ٱلْكَهْفِ
the cave.
يَنشُرْ
Will spread
لَكُمْ
for you
رَبُّكُم
your Lord
مِّن
of
رَّحْمَتِهِۦ
His Mercy
وَيُهَيِّئْ
and will facilitate
لَكُم
for you
مِّنْ
[from]
أَمْرِكُم
your affair
مِّرْفَقًا
(in) ease."
Ayah
17
وَتَرَى
And you (might) have seen
ٱلشَّمْسَ
the sun,
إِذَا
when
طَلَعَت
it rose,
تَّزَٰوَرُ
inclining away
عَن
from
كَهْفِهِمْ
their cave
ذَاتَ
to
ٱلْيَمِينِ
the right,
وَإِذَا
and when
غَرَبَت
it set,
تَّقْرِضُهُمْ
passing away from them
ذَاتَ
to
ٱلشِّمَالِ
the left
وَهُمْ
while they
فِى
(lay) in
فَجْوَةٍ
the open space
مِّنْهُ
thereof.
ذَٰلِكَ
That
مِنْ
(was) from
ءَايَٰتِ
(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah.
مَن
Whoever
يَهْدِ
Allah guides
ٱللَّهُ
Allah guides
فَهُوَ
and he
ٱلْمُهْتَدِ
(is) the guided one,
وَمَن
and whoever
يُضْلِلْ
He lets go astray
فَلَن
then never
تَجِدَ
you will find
لَهُۥ
for him
وَلِيًّا
a protector,
مُّرْشِدًا
a guide.
Ayah
18
وَتَحْسَبُهُمْ
And you (would) think them
أَيْقَاظًا
awake
وَهُمْ
while they
رُقُودٌ
(were) asleep.
وَنُقَلِّبُهُمْ
And We turned them
ذَاتَ
to
ٱلْيَمِينِ
the right
وَذَاتَ
and to
ٱلشِّمَالِ
the left,
وَكَلْبُهُم
while their dog
بَٰسِطٌ
stretched
ذِرَاعَيْهِ
his two forelegs
بِٱلْوَصِيدِ
at the entrance.
لَوِ
If
ٱطَّلَعْتَ
you had looked
عَلَيْهِمْ
at them,
لَوَلَّيْتَ
you (would) have surely turned back
مِنْهُمْ
from them
فِرَارًا
(in) flight
وَلَمُلِئْتَ
and surely you would have been filled
مِنْهُمْ
by them
رُعْبًا
(with) terror.
Ayah
19
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And similarly,
بَعَثْنَٰهُمْ
We raised them
لِيَتَسَآءَلُوا۟
that they might question
بَيْنَهُمْ
among them.
قَالَ
Said
قَآئِلٌ
a speaker
مِّنْهُمْ
among them,
كَمْ
"How long
لَبِثْتُمْ
have you remained?"
قَالُوا۟
They said,
لَبِثْنَا
"We have remained
يَوْمًا
a day
أَوْ
or
بَعْضَ
a part
يَوْمٍ
(of) a day."
قَالُوا۟
They said,
رَبُّكُمْ
"Your Lord
أَعْلَمُ
knows best
بِمَا
how long
لَبِثْتُمْ
you have remained.
فَٱبْعَثُوٓا۟
So send
أَحَدَكُم
one of you
بِوَرِقِكُمْ
with this silver coin of yours
هَٰذِهِۦٓ
with this silver coin of yours
إِلَى
to
ٱلْمَدِينَةِ
the city,
فَلْيَنظُرْ
and let him see
أَيُّهَآ
which is
أَزْكَىٰ
the purest
طَعَامًا
food,
فَلْيَأْتِكُم
and let him bring to you
بِرِزْقٍ
provision
مِّنْهُ
from it,
وَلْيَتَلَطَّفْ
and let him be cautious.
وَلَا
And let not be aware
يُشْعِرَنَّ
And let not be aware
بِكُمْ
about you
أَحَدًا
anyone."
Ayah
20
إِنَّهُمْ
"Indeed, [they]
إِن
if
يَظْهَرُوا۟
they come to know
عَلَيْكُمْ
about you,
يَرْجُمُوكُمْ
they will stone you
أَوْ
or
يُعِيدُوكُمْ
return you
فِى
to
مِلَّتِهِمْ
their religion.
وَلَن
And never
تُفْلِحُوٓا۟
will you succeed
إِذًا
then -
أَبَدًا
ever."
Ayah
21
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And similarly,
أَعْثَرْنَا
We made known
عَلَيْهِمْ
about them
لِيَعْلَمُوٓا۟
that they might know
أَنَّ
that
وَعْدَ
(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
حَقٌّ
(is) true,
وَأَنَّ
and that
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
(about) the Hour
لَا
(there is) no
رَيْبَ
doubt
فِيهَآ
in it.
إِذْ
When
يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ
they disputed
بَيْنَهُمْ
among themselves
أَمْرَهُمْ
about their affair
فَقَالُوا۟
and they said,
ٱبْنُوا۟
"Construct
عَلَيْهِم
over them
بُنْيَٰنًا
a structure.
رَّبُّهُمْ
Their Lord
أَعْلَمُ
knows best
بِهِمْ
about them."
قَالَ
Said
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
غَلَبُوا۟
prevailed
عَلَىٰٓ
in
أَمْرِهِمْ
their matter,
لَنَتَّخِذَنَّ
"Surely we will take
عَلَيْهِم
over them
مَّسْجِدًا
a place of worship."
Ayah
22
سَيَقُولُونَ
They say,
ثَلَٰثَةٌ
(they were) three,
رَّابِعُهُمْ
the forth of them
كَلْبُهُمْ
their dog;
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they say
خَمْسَةٌ
(they were) five
سَادِسُهُمْ
the sixth of them
كَلْبُهُمْ
their dog -
رَجْمًۢا
guessing
بِٱلْغَيْبِ
about the unseen;
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they say,
سَبْعَةٌ
(they were) seven
وَثَامِنُهُمْ
and the eight of them
كَلْبُهُمْ
their dog.
قُل
Say,
رَّبِّىٓ
"My Lord,
أَعْلَمُ
knows best
بِعِدَّتِهِم
their number.
مَّا
None
يَعْلَمُهُمْ
knows them
إِلَّا
except
قَلِيلٌ
a few.
فَلَا
So (do) not
تُمَارِ
argue
فِيهِمْ
about them
إِلَّا
except
مِرَآءً
(with) an argument
ظَٰهِرًا
obvious,
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَسْتَفْتِ
inquire
فِيهِم
about them
مِّنْهُمْ
among them
أَحَدًا
(from) anyone."
Ayah
23
وَلَا
And (do) not
تَقُولَنَّ
say
لِشَا۟ىْءٍ
of anything,
إِنِّى
"Indeed, I
فَاعِلٌ
will do
ذَٰلِكَ
that
غَدًا
tomorrow."
Ayah
24
إِلَّآ
Except,
أَن
"If
يَشَآءَ
Allah wills."
ٱللَّهُ
Allah wills."
وَٱذْكُر
And remember
رَّبَّكَ
your Lord
إِذَا
when
نَسِيتَ
you forget
وَقُلْ
and say,
عَسَىٰٓ
"Perhaps
أَن
[that]
يَهْدِيَنِ
will guide me
رَبِّى
my Lord
لِأَقْرَبَ
to a nearer (way)
مِنْ
than
هَٰذَا
this
رَشَدًا
right way."
Ayah
25
وَلَبِثُوا۟
And they remained
فِى
in
كَهْفِهِمْ
their cave
ثَلَٰثَ
(for) three
مِا۟ئَةٍ
hundred
سِنِينَ
years
وَٱزْدَادُوا۟
and add
تِسْعًا
nine.
Ayah
26
قُلِ
Say,
ٱللَّهُ
"Allah
أَعْلَمُ
knows best
بِمَا
about what (period)
لَبِثُوا۟
they remained.
لَهُۥ
For Him
غَيْبُ
(is the) unseen
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth.
أَبْصِرْ
How clearly He sees!
بِهِۦ
[of it]
وَأَسْمِعْ
And how clearly He hears!
مَا
Not
لَهُم
for them
مِّن
besides Him
دُونِهِۦ
besides Him
مِن
any
وَلِىٍّ
protector,
وَلَا
and not
يُشْرِكُ
He shares
فِى
[in]
حُكْمِهِۦٓ
His Commands
أَحَدًا
(with) anyone."
Ayah
27
وَٱتْلُ
And recite
مَآ
what
أُوحِىَ
has been revealed
إِلَيْكَ
to you
مِن
of
كِتَابِ
the Book
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord.
لَا
None
مُبَدِّلَ
can change
لِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ
His Words
وَلَن
and never
تَجِدَ
you will find
مِن
besides Him
دُونِهِۦ
besides Him
مُلْتَحَدًا
a refuge.
Ayah
28
وَٱصْبِرْ
And be patient,
نَفْسَكَ
yourself,
مَعَ
with
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يَدْعُونَ
call
رَبَّهُم
their Lord
بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ
in the morning
وَٱلْعَشِىِّ
and the evening
يُرِيدُونَ
desiring
وَجْهَهُۥ
His Face.
وَلَا
And (let) not
تَعْدُ
pass beyond
عَيْنَاكَ
your eyes
عَنْهُمْ
over them,
تُرِيدُ
desiring
زِينَةَ
adornment
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
(of) the world,
وَلَا
and (do) not
تُطِعْ
obey
مَنْ
whom
أَغْفَلْنَا
We have made heedless
قَلْبَهُۥ
his heart
عَن
of
ذِكْرِنَا
Our remembrance,
وَٱتَّبَعَ
and follows
هَوَىٰهُ
his desires
وَكَانَ
and is
أَمْرُهُۥ
his affair
فُرُطًا
(in) excess.
Ayah
29
وَقُلِ
And say,
ٱلْحَقُّ
"The truth
مِن
(is) from
رَّبِّكُمْ
your Lord,
فَمَن
so whoever
شَآءَ
wills -
فَلْيُؤْمِن
let him believe
وَمَن
and whoever
شَآءَ
wills -
فَلْيَكْفُرْ
let him disbelieve."
إِنَّآ
Indeed, We
أَعْتَدْنَا
have prepared
لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ
for the wrongdoers
نَارًا
a Fire,
أَحَاطَ
will surround
بِهِمْ
them
سُرَادِقُهَا
its walls.
وَإِن
And if
يَسْتَغِيثُوا۟
they call for relief,
يُغَاثُوا۟
they will be relieved
بِمَآءٍ
with water
كَٱلْمُهْلِ
like molten brass,
يَشْوِى
(which) scalds
ٱلْوُجُوهَ
the faces.
بِئْسَ
Wretched
ٱلشَّرَابُ
(is) the drink,
وَسَآءَتْ
and evil
مُرْتَفَقًا
(is) the resting place.
Ayah
30
إِنَّ
Indeed,
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believed
وَعَمِلُوا۟
and did
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
the good deeds,
إِنَّا
indeed, We
لَا
will not let go waste
نُضِيعُ
will not let go waste
أَجْرَ
(the) reward
مَنْ
(of one) who
أَحْسَنَ
does good
عَمَلًا
deeds.
Ayah
31
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those,
لَهُمْ
for them
جَنَّٰتُ
(are) Gardens
عَدْنٍ
of Eden,
تَجْرِى
flows
مِن
from
تَحْتِهِمُ
underneath them
ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
the rivers.
يُحَلَّوْنَ
They will be adorned
فِيهَا
therein
مِنْ
[of] (with)
أَسَاوِرَ
bracelets
مِن
of
ذَهَبٍ
gold
وَيَلْبَسُونَ
and will wear
ثِيَابًا
garments,
خُضْرًا
green,
مِّن
of
سُندُسٍ
fine silk
وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ
and heavy brocade,
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ
reclining
فِيهَا
therein
عَلَى
on
ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ
adorned couches.
نِعْمَ
Excellent
ٱلثَّوَابُ
(is) the reward,
وَحَسُنَتْ
and good
مُرْتَفَقًا
(is) the resting place.
Ayah
32
وَٱضْرِبْ
And set forth
لَهُم
to them
مَّثَلًا
the example
رَّجُلَيْنِ
of two men:
جَعَلْنَا
We provided
لِأَحَدِهِمَا
for one of them
جَنَّتَيْنِ
two gardens
مِنْ
of
أَعْنَٰبٍ
grapes,
وَحَفَفْنَٰهُمَا
and We bordered them
بِنَخْلٍ
with date-palms,
وَجَعَلْنَا
and We placed
بَيْنَهُمَا
between both of them
زَرْعًا
crops.
Ayah
33
كِلْتَا
Each
ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ
(of) the two gardens
ءَاتَتْ
brought forth
أُكُلَهَا
its produce
وَلَمْ
and not
تَظْلِم
did wrong
مِّنْهُ
of it
شَيْـًٔا
anything.
وَفَجَّرْنَا
And We caused to gush forth
خِلَٰلَهُمَا
within them
نَهَرًا
a river.
Ayah
34
وَكَانَ
And was
لَهُۥ
for him
ثَمَرٌ
fruit,
فَقَالَ
so he said
لِصَٰحِبِهِۦ
to his companion
وَهُوَ
while he
يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ
(was) talking with him,
أَنَا۠
"I am
أَكْثَرُ
greater
مِنكَ
than you
مَالًا
(in) wealth
وَأَعَزُّ
and stronger
نَفَرًا
(in) men."
Ayah
35
وَدَخَلَ
And he entered
جَنَّتَهُۥ
his garden
وَهُوَ
while he
ظَالِمٌ
(was) unjust
لِّنَفْسِهِۦ
to himself.
قَالَ
He said,
مَآ
"Not
أَظُنُّ
I think
أَن
that
تَبِيدَ
will perish
هَٰذِهِۦٓ
this
أَبَدًا
ever.
Ayah
36
وَمَآ
And not
أَظُنُّ
I think
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
the Hour
قَآئِمَةً
will occur.
وَلَئِن
And if
رُّدِدتُّ
I am brought back
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّى
my Lord,
لَأَجِدَنَّ
I will surely find
خَيْرًا
better
مِّنْهَا
than this
مُنقَلَبًا
(as) a return."
Ayah
37
قَالَ
Said
لَهُۥ
to him
صَاحِبُهُۥ
his companion
وَهُوَ
while he
يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ
was talking to him,
أَكَفَرْتَ
"Do you disbelieve
بِٱلَّذِى
in One Who
خَلَقَكَ
created you
مِن
from
تُرَابٍ
dust
ثُمَّ
then
مِن
from
نُّطْفَةٍ
a minute quantity of semen.
ثُمَّ
then
سَوَّىٰكَ
fashioned you
رَجُلًا
(into) a man?
Ayah
38
لَّٰكِنَّا۠
But as for me,
هُوَ
He
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah,
رَبِّى
my Lord,
وَلَآ
and not
أُشْرِكُ
I associate
بِرَبِّىٓ
with my Lord
أَحَدًا
anyone.
Ayah
39
وَلَوْلَآ
And why (did you) not,
إِذْ
when
دَخَلْتَ
you entered
جَنَّتَكَ
your garden
قُلْتَ
say,
مَا
"What
شَآءَ
wills
ٱللَّهُ
Allah;
لَا
(there is) no
قُوَّةَ
power
إِلَّا
except
بِٱللَّهِ
with Allah."
إِن
If
تَرَنِ
you see me
أَنَا۠
(me)
أَقَلَّ
lesser
مِنكَ
than you
مَالًا
(in) wealth
وَوَلَدًا
and children,
Ayah
40
فَعَسَىٰ
It may be
رَبِّىٓ
that my Lord
أَن
that my Lord
يُؤْتِيَنِ
will give me
خَيْرًا
better
مِّن
than
جَنَّتِكَ
your garden
وَيُرْسِلَ
and will send
عَلَيْهَا
upon it
حُسْبَانًا
a calamity
مِّنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky,
فَتُصْبِحَ
then it will become
صَعِيدًا
ground
زَلَقًا
slippery,
Ayah
41
أَوْ
Or
يُصْبِحَ
will become,
مَآؤُهَا
its water,
غَوْرًا
sunken,
فَلَن
so never
تَسْتَطِيعَ
you will be able
لَهُۥ
to find it."
طَلَبًا
to find it."
Ayah
42
وَأُحِيطَ
And were surrounded
بِثَمَرِهِۦ
his fruits,
فَأَصْبَحَ
so he began
يُقَلِّبُ
twisting
كَفَّيْهِ
his hands
عَلَىٰ
over
مَآ
what
أَنفَقَ
he (had) spent
فِيهَا
on it,
وَهِىَ
while it (had)
خَاوِيَةٌ
collapsed
عَلَىٰ
on
عُرُوشِهَا
its trellises,
وَيَقُولُ
and he said,
يَٰلَيْتَنِى
"Oh! I wish
لَمْ
I had not associated
أُشْرِكْ
I had not associated
بِرَبِّىٓ
with my Lord
أَحَدًا
anyone."
Ayah
43
وَلَمْ
And not
تَكُن
was
لَّهُۥ
for him
فِئَةٌ
a group
يَنصُرُونَهُۥ
(to) help him
مِن
other than
دُونِ
other than
ٱللَّهِ
Allah,
وَمَا
and not
كَانَ
was
مُنتَصِرًا
(he) supported.
Ayah
44
هُنَالِكَ
There,
ٱلْوَلَٰيَةُ
the protection
لِلَّهِ
(is) from Allah
ٱلْحَقِّ
the True.
هُوَ
He
خَيْرٌ
(is the) best
ثَوَابًا
(to) reward
وَخَيْرٌ
and (the) best
عُقْبًا
(for) the final end.
Ayah
45
وَٱضْرِبْ
And present
لَهُم
to them
مَّثَلَ
the example
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
(of) the world,
كَمَآءٍ
like water
أَنزَلْنَٰهُ
which We send down
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky,
فَٱخْتَلَطَ
then mingles
بِهِۦ
with it
نَبَاتُ
(the) vegetation
ٱلْأَرْضِ
(of) the earth
فَأَصْبَحَ
then becomes
هَشِيمًا
dry stalks,
تَذْرُوهُ
it (is) scattered
ٱلرِّيَٰحُ
(by) the winds.
وَكَانَ
And Allah
ٱللَّهُ
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
over
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍ
thing
مُّقْتَدِرًا
(is) All Able.
Ayah
46
ٱلْمَالُ
The wealth
وَٱلْبَنُونَ
and children
زِينَةُ
(are) adornment
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
(of) the world.
وَٱلْبَٰقِيَٰتُ
But the enduring
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ
good deeds
خَيْرٌ
(are) better
عِندَ
near
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
ثَوَابًا
(for) reward
وَخَيْرٌ
and better
أَمَلًا
(for) hope.
Ayah
47
وَيَوْمَ
And the Day
نُسَيِّرُ
We will cause (to) move
ٱلْجِبَالَ
the mountains
وَتَرَى
and you will see
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the earth
بَارِزَةً
(as) a leveled plain
وَحَشَرْنَٰهُمْ
and We will gather them
فَلَمْ
and not
نُغَادِرْ
We will leave behind
مِنْهُمْ
from them
أَحَدًا
anyone.
Ayah
48
وَعُرِضُوا۟
And they will be presented
عَلَىٰ
before
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
صَفًّا
(in) rows,
لَّقَدْ
"Certainly,
جِئْتُمُونَا
you have come to Us
كَمَا
as
خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ
We created you
أَوَّلَ
the first
مَرَّةٍۭ
time.
بَلْ
Nay,
زَعَمْتُمْ
you claimed
أَلَّن
that not
نَّجْعَلَ
We made
لَكُم
for you
مَّوْعِدًا
an appointment."
Ayah
49
وَوُضِعَ
And (will) be placed
ٱلْكِتَٰبُ
the Book
فَتَرَى
and you will see
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
the criminals
مُشْفِقِينَ
fearful
مِمَّا
of what
فِيهِ
(is) in it,
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they will say,
يَٰوَيْلَتَنَا
"Oh, woe to us!
مَالِ
What (is) for
هَٰذَا
this
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
[the] Book,
لَا
not
يُغَادِرُ
leaves
صَغِيرَةً
a small
وَلَا
and not
كَبِيرَةً
a great
إِلَّآ
except
أَحْصَىٰهَا
has enumerated it?"
وَوَجَدُوا۟
And they will find
مَا
what
عَمِلُوا۟
they did
حَاضِرًا
presented.
وَلَا
And not
يَظْلِمُ
deals unjustly
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
أَحَدًا
(with) anyone.
Ayah
50
وَإِذْ
And when
قُلْنَا
We said
لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
to the Angels,
ٱسْجُدُوا۟
"Prostrate
لِءَادَمَ
to Adam,"
فَسَجَدُوٓا۟
so they prostrated
إِلَّآ
except
إِبْلِيسَ
Iblis.
كَانَ
(He) was
مِنَ
of
ٱلْجِنِّ
the jinn,
فَفَسَقَ
and he rebelled
عَنْ
against
أَمْرِ
the Command
رَبِّهِۦٓ
(of) his Lord.
أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُۥ
Will you then take him
وَذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓ
and his offspring
أَوْلِيَآءَ
(as) protectors
مِن
other than Me,
دُونِى
other than Me,
وَهُمْ
while they
لَكُمْ
(are) to you
عَدُوٌّۢ
enemies?
بِئْسَ
Wretched
لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ
for the wrongdoers
بَدَلًا
(is) the exchange.
Ayah
51
مَّآ
Not
أَشْهَدتُّهُمْ
I made them witness
خَلْقَ
the creation
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
وَلَا
and not
خَلْقَ
the creation
أَنفُسِهِمْ
(of) themselves
وَمَا
and not
كُنتُ
I Am
مُتَّخِذَ
the One to take
ٱلْمُضِلِّينَ
the misleaders
عَضُدًا
(as) helper(s).
Ayah
52
وَيَوْمَ
And the Day
يَقُولُ
He will say,
نَادُوا۟
"Call
شُرَكَآءِىَ
My partners,
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
زَعَمْتُمْ
you claimed,"
فَدَعَوْهُمْ
then they will call them
فَلَمْ
but not
يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟
they will respond
لَهُمْ
to them.
وَجَعَلْنَا
And We will make
بَيْنَهُم
between them
مَّوْبِقًا
a barrier.
Ayah
53
وَرَءَا
And will see
ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
the criminals
ٱلنَّارَ
the Fire,
فَظَنُّوٓا۟
and they (will be) certain
أَنَّهُم
that they
مُّوَاقِعُوهَا
are to fall in it.
وَلَمْ
And not
يَجِدُوا۟
they will find
عَنْهَا
from it
مَصْرِفًا
a way of escape.
Ayah
54
وَلَقَدْ
And certainly,
صَرَّفْنَا
We have explained
فِى
in
هَٰذَا
this
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
the Quran
لِلنَّاسِ
for mankind
مِن
of
كُلِّ
every
مَثَلٍ
example.
وَكَانَ
But is
ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ
the man
أَكْثَرَ
(in) most
شَىْءٍ
things
جَدَلًا
quarrelsome.
Ayah
55
وَمَا
And nothing
مَنَعَ
prevents
ٱلنَّاسَ
men
أَن
that
يُؤْمِنُوٓا۟
they believe
إِذْ
when
جَآءَهُمُ
has come to them
ٱلْهُدَىٰ
the guidance
وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا۟
and they ask forgiveness
رَبَّهُمْ
(of) their Lord,
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
تَأْتِيَهُمْ
comes to them
سُنَّةُ
(the) way
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
(of) the former (people)
أَوْ
or
يَأْتِيَهُمُ
comes to them
ٱلْعَذَابُ
the punishment
قُبُلًا
before (them)?
Ayah
56
وَمَا
And not
نُرْسِلُ
We send
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
the Messengers
إِلَّا
except
مُبَشِّرِينَ
(as) bearers of glad tidings
وَمُنذِرِينَ
and (as) warners.
وَيُجَٰدِلُ
And dispute
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieve
بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ
with falsehood,
لِيُدْحِضُوا۟
to refute
بِهِ
thereby
ٱلْحَقَّ
the truth.
وَٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟
And they take
ءَايَٰتِى
My Verses
وَمَآ
and what
أُنذِرُوا۟
they are warned
هُزُوًا
(in) ridicule.
Ayah
57
وَمَنْ
And who
أَظْلَمُ
(is) more wrong
مِمَّن
than (he) who
ذُكِّرَ
is reminded
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
of the Verses
رَبِّهِۦ
(of) his Lord,
فَأَعْرَضَ
but turns away
عَنْهَا
from them,
وَنَسِىَ
and forgets
مَا
what
قَدَّمَتْ
have sent forth
يَدَاهُ
his hands?
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
جَعَلْنَا
[We] have placed
عَلَىٰ
over
قُلُوبِهِمْ
their hearts
أَكِنَّةً
coverings,
أَن
lest
يَفْقَهُوهُ
they understand it
وَفِىٓ
and in
ءَاذَانِهِمْ
their ears
وَقْرًا
(is) deafness.
وَإِن
And if
تَدْعُهُمْ
you call them
إِلَى
to
ٱلْهُدَىٰ
the guidance,
فَلَن
then never
يَهْتَدُوٓا۟
they will be guided
إِذًا
then
أَبَدًا
ever.
Ayah
58
وَرَبُّكَ
And your Lord
ٱلْغَفُورُ
(is) the Most Forgiving,
ذُو
Owner
ٱلرَّحْمَةِ
(of) the Mercy.
لَوْ
If
يُؤَاخِذُهُم
He were to seize them
بِمَا
for what
كَسَبُوا۟
they have earned,
لَعَجَّلَ
surely, He (would) have hastened
لَهُمُ
for them
ٱلْعَذَابَ
the punishment.
بَل
But
لَّهُم
for them
مَّوْعِدٌ
(is) an appointment,
لَّن
never
يَجِدُوا۟
they will find
مِن
other than it
دُونِهِۦ
other than it
مَوْئِلًا
an escape.
Ayah
59
وَتِلْكَ
And these
ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ
[the] towns,
أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ
We destroyed them
لَمَّا
when
ظَلَمُوا۟
they wronged,
وَجَعَلْنَا
and We made
لِمَهْلِكِهِم
for their destruction
مَّوْعِدًا
an appointed time.
Ayah
60
وَإِذْ
And when
قَالَ
said
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
لِفَتَىٰهُ
to his boy,
لَآ
"Not
أَبْرَحُ
I will cease
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
أَبْلُغَ
I reach
مَجْمَعَ
the junction
ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ
(of) the two seas
أَوْ
or
أَمْضِىَ
I continue
حُقُبًا
(for) a long period."
Ayah
61
فَلَمَّا
But when
بَلَغَا
they reached
مَجْمَعَ
the junction
بَيْنِهِمَا
between them,
نَسِيَا
they forgot
حُوتَهُمَا
their fish,
فَٱتَّخَذَ
and it took
سَبِيلَهُۥ
its way
فِى
into
ٱلْبَحْرِ
the sea,
سَرَبًا
slipping away.
Ayah
62
فَلَمَّا
Then when
جَاوَزَا
they had passed beyond
قَالَ
he said
لِفَتَىٰهُ
to his boy,
ءَاتِنَا
"Bring us
غَدَآءَنَا
our morning meal.
لَقَدْ
Certainly
لَقِينَا
we have suffered
مِن
in
سَفَرِنَا
our journey
هَٰذَا
this,
نَصَبًا
fatigue."
Ayah
63
قَالَ
He said,
أَرَءَيْتَ
"Did you see,
إِذْ
when
أَوَيْنَآ
we retired
إِلَى
to
ٱلصَّخْرَةِ
the rock?
فَإِنِّى
Then indeed, I
نَسِيتُ
[I] forgot
ٱلْحُوتَ
the fish.
وَمَآ
And not
أَنسَىٰنِيهُ
made me forget it
إِلَّا
except
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
the Shaitaan
أَنْ
that
أَذْكُرَهُۥ
I mention it.
وَٱتَّخَذَ
And it took
سَبِيلَهُۥ
its way
فِى
into
ٱلْبَحْرِ
the sea
عَجَبًا
amazingly."
Ayah
64
قَالَ
He said,
ذَٰلِكَ
"That
مَا
(is) what
كُنَّا
we were
نَبْغِ
seeking."
فَٱرْتَدَّا
So they returned
عَلَىٰٓ
on
ءَاثَارِهِمَا
their footprints,
قَصَصًا
retracing.
Ayah
65
فَوَجَدَا
Then they found
عَبْدًا
a servant
مِّنْ
from
عِبَادِنَآ
Our servants,
ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ
whom We had given
رَحْمَةً
mercy
مِّنْ
from
عِندِنَا
Us,
وَعَلَّمْنَٰهُ
and We had taught him
مِن
from
لَّدُنَّا
Us
عِلْمًا
a knowledge.
Ayah
66
قَالَ
Said
لَهُۥ
to him
مُوسَىٰ
Musa,
هَلْ
"May,
أَتَّبِعُكَ
I follow you
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أَن
that
تُعَلِّمَنِ
you teach me
مِمَّا
of what
عُلِّمْتَ
you have been taught
رُشْدًا
(of) right guidance?"
Ayah
67
قَالَ
He said,
إِنَّكَ
"Indeed, you
لَن
never
تَسْتَطِيعَ
will be able,
مَعِىَ
with me,
صَبْرًا
(to have) patience.
Ayah
68
وَكَيْفَ
And how can
تَصْبِرُ
you have patience
عَلَىٰ
for
مَا
what
لَمْ
not
تُحِطْ
you encompass
بِهِۦ
of it
خُبْرًا
any knowledge."
Ayah
69
قَالَ
He said,
سَتَجِدُنِىٓ
"You will find me,
إِن
if
شَآءَ
Allah wills,
ٱللَّهُ
Allah wills,
صَابِرًا
patient,
وَلَآ
and not
أَعْصِى
I will disobey
لَكَ
your
أَمْرًا
order."
Ayah
70
قَالَ
He said,
فَإِنِ
"Then if
ٱتَّبَعْتَنِى
you follow me,
فَلَا
(do) not
تَسْـَٔلْنِى
ask me
عَن
about
شَىْءٍ
anything
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
أُحْدِثَ
I present
لَكَ
to you
مِنْهُ
of it
ذِكْرًا
a mention."
Ayah
71
فَٱنطَلَقَا
So they both set out
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَا
when
رَكِبَا
they had embarked
فِى
on
ٱلسَّفِينَةِ
the ship
خَرَقَهَا
he made a hole in it.
قَالَ
He said,
أَخَرَقْتَهَا
"Have you made a hole in it,
لِتُغْرِقَ
to drown
أَهْلَهَا
its people?
لَقَدْ
Certainly,
جِئْتَ
you have done
شَيْـًٔا
a thing
إِمْرًا
grave."
Ayah
72
قَالَ
He said,
أَلَمْ
"Did not
أَقُلْ
I say,
إِنَّكَ
indeed, you
لَن
never
تَسْتَطِيعَ
will be able
مَعِىَ
with me
صَبْرًا
(to have) patience?"
Ayah
73
قَالَ
He said,
لَا
"(Do) not,
تُؤَاخِذْنِى
blame me
بِمَا
for what
نَسِيتُ
I forgot
وَلَا
and (do) not
تُرْهِقْنِى
be hard (upon) me
مِنْ
in
أَمْرِى
my affair
عُسْرًا
(raising) difficulty."
Ayah
74
فَٱنطَلَقَا
Then they both set out
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَا
when
لَقِيَا
they met
غُلَٰمًا
a boy,
فَقَتَلَهُۥ
then he killed him.
قَالَ
He said,
أَقَتَلْتَ
"Have you killed
نَفْسًا
a soul,
زَكِيَّةًۢ
pure,
بِغَيْرِ
for other than
نَفْسٍ
a soul?
لَّقَدْ
Certainly,
جِئْتَ
you have done
شَيْـًٔا
a thing
نُّكْرًا
evil."
Ayah
75
قَالَ
He said,
أَلَمْ
"Did not
أَقُل
I say
لَّكَ
to you
إِنَّكَ
that you,
لَن
never
تَسْتَطِيعَ
will be able
مَعِىَ
with me
صَبْرًا
(to have) patience?"
Ayah
76
قَالَ
He said,
إِن
"If
سَأَلْتُكَ
I ask you
عَن
about
شَىْءٍۭ
anything
بَعْدَهَا
after it,
فَلَا
then (do) not
تُصَٰحِبْنِى
keep me as a companion.
قَدْ
Verily,
بَلَغْتَ
you have reached
مِن
from me
لَّدُنِّى
from me
عُذْرًا
an excuse."
Ayah
77
فَٱنطَلَقَا
So they set out
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَآ
when
أَتَيَآ
they came
أَهْلَ
(to the) people
قَرْيَةٍ
(of) a town,
ٱسْتَطْعَمَآ
they asked for food
أَهْلَهَا
(from) its people,
فَأَبَوْا۟
but they refused
أَن
to
يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا
offer them hospitality.
فَوَجَدَا
Then they found
فِيهَا
in it
جِدَارًا
a wall
يُرِيدُ
(that) want(ed)
أَن
to
يَنقَضَّ
collapse,
فَأَقَامَهُۥ
so he set it straight.
قَالَ
He said,
لَوْ
"If
شِئْتَ
you wished
لَتَّخَذْتَ
surely you (could) have taken
عَلَيْهِ
for it
أَجْرًا
a payment."
Ayah
78
قَالَ
He said,
هَٰذَا
"This
فِرَاقُ
(is) parting
بَيْنِى
between me
وَبَيْنِكَ
and between you.
سَأُنَبِّئُكَ
I will inform you
بِتَأْوِيلِ
of (the) interpretation
مَا
(of) what
لَمْ
not
تَسْتَطِع
you were able
عَّلَيْهِ
on it
صَبْرًا
(to have) patience.
Ayah
79
أَمَّا
As for
ٱلسَّفِينَةُ
the ship,
فَكَانَتْ
it was
لِمَسَٰكِينَ
of (the) poor people
يَعْمَلُونَ
working
فِى
in
ٱلْبَحْرِ
the sea.
فَأَرَدتُّ
So I intended
أَنْ
that
أَعِيبَهَا
I cause defect (in) it
وَكَانَ
(as there) was
وَرَآءَهُم
after them
مَّلِكٌ
a king
يَأْخُذُ
who seized
كُلَّ
every
سَفِينَةٍ
ship
غَصْبًا
(by) force.
Ayah
80
وَأَمَّا
And as for
ٱلْغُلَٰمُ
the boy
فَكَانَ
his parents were
أَبَوَاهُ
his parents were
مُؤْمِنَيْنِ
believers,
فَخَشِينَآ
and we feared
أَن
that
يُرْهِقَهُمَا
he would overburden them
طُغْيَٰنًا
(by) transgression
وَكُفْرًا
and disbelief.
Ayah
81
فَأَرَدْنَآ
So we intended
أَن
that
يُبْدِلَهُمَا
would change for them
رَبُّهُمَا
their Lord,
خَيْرًا
a better
مِّنْهُ
than him
زَكَوٰةً
(in) purity
وَأَقْرَبَ
and nearer
رُحْمًا
(in) affection.
Ayah
82
وَأَمَّا
And as for
ٱلْجِدَارُ
the wall,
فَكَانَ
it was
لِغُلَٰمَيْنِ
for two orphan boys,
يَتِيمَيْنِ
for two orphan boys,
فِى
in
ٱلْمَدِينَةِ
the town,
وَكَانَ
and was
تَحْتَهُۥ
underneath it
كَنزٌ
a treasure
لَّهُمَا
for them
وَكَانَ
and was
أَبُوهُمَا
their father
صَٰلِحًا
righteous.
فَأَرَادَ
So intended
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
أَن
that
يَبْلُغَآ
they reach
أَشُدَّهُمَا
their maturity,
وَيَسْتَخْرِجَا
and bring forth
كَنزَهُمَا
their treasure
رَحْمَةً
(as) a mercy
مِّن
from
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord.
وَمَا
And not
فَعَلْتُهُۥ
I did it
عَنْ
on
أَمْرِى
my (own) accord.
ذَٰلِكَ
That
تَأْوِيلُ
(is the) interpretation
مَا
(of) what
لَمْ
not
تَسْطِع
you were able
عَّلَيْهِ
on it
صَبْرًا
(to have) patience."
Ayah
83
وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ
And they ask you
عَن
about
ذِى
Dhul-qarnain.
ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ
Dhul-qarnain.
قُلْ
Say,
سَأَتْلُوا۟
"I will recite
عَلَيْكُم
to you
مِّنْهُ
about him
ذِكْرًا
a remembrance."
Ayah
84
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
مَكَّنَّا
[We] established
لَهُۥ
[for] him
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the earth,
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ
and We gave him
مِن
of
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍ
thing
سَبَبًا
a means.
Ayah
85
فَأَتْبَعَ
So he followed
سَبَبًا
a course
Ayah
86
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until,
إِذَا
when
بَلَغَ
he reached
مَغْرِبَ
(the) setting place
ٱلشَّمْسِ
(of) the sun,
وَجَدَهَا
he found it
تَغْرُبُ
setting
فِى
in
عَيْنٍ
a spring
حَمِئَةٍ
(of) dark mud,
وَوَجَدَ
and he found
عِندَهَا
near it
قَوْمًا
a community.
قُلْنَا
We said,
يَٰذَا
"O Dhul-qarnain!
ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ
"O Dhul-qarnain!
إِمَّآ
Either
أَن
[that]
تُعَذِّبَ
you punish
وَإِمَّآ
or
أَن
[that]
تَتَّخِذَ
you take
فِيهِمْ
[in] them
حُسْنًا
(with) goodness."
Ayah
87
قَالَ
He said,
أَمَّا
"As for
مَن
(one) who
ظَلَمَ
wrongs,
فَسَوْفَ
then soon
نُعَذِّبُهُۥ
we will punish him.
ثُمَّ
Then
يُرَدُّ
he will be returned
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّهِۦ
his Lord,
فَيُعَذِّبُهُۥ
and He will punish him
عَذَابًا
(with) a punishment
نُّكْرًا
terrible.
Ayah
88
وَأَمَّا
But as for
مَنْ
(one) who
ءَامَنَ
believes
وَعَمِلَ
and does
صَٰلِحًا
righteous (deeds),
فَلَهُۥ
then for him
جَزَآءً
(is) a reward
ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
good.
وَسَنَقُولُ
And we will speak
لَهُۥ
to him
مِنْ
from
أَمْرِنَا
our command
يُسْرًا
(with) ease."
Ayah
89
ثُمَّ
Then
أَتْبَعَ
he followed
سَبَبًا
(a) course
Ayah
90
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until,
إِذَا
when
بَلَغَ
he reached
مَطْلِعَ
(the) rising place
ٱلشَّمْسِ
(of) the sun,
وَجَدَهَا
and he found it
تَطْلُعُ
rising
عَلَىٰ
on
قَوْمٍ
a community
لَّمْ
not
نَجْعَل
We made
لَّهُم
for them
مِّن
against it
دُونِهَا
against it
سِتْرًا
any shelter.
Ayah
91
كَذَٰلِكَ
Thus.
وَقَدْ
And verily,
أَحَطْنَا
We encompassed
بِمَا
of what
لَدَيْهِ
(was) with him
خُبْرًا
(of the) information.
Ayah
92
ثُمَّ
Then
أَتْبَعَ
he followed
سَبَبًا
a course
Ayah
93
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until,
إِذَا
when
بَلَغَ
he reached
بَيْنَ
between
ٱلسَّدَّيْنِ
the two mountains,
وَجَدَ
he found
مِن
besides them
دُونِهِمَا
besides them
قَوْمًا
a community,
لَّا
not
يَكَادُونَ
who would almost
يَفْقَهُونَ
understand
قَوْلًا
(his) speech.
Ayah
94
قَالُوا۟
They said,
يَٰذَا
"O Dhul-qarnain!
ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ
"O Dhul-qarnain!
إِنَّ
Indeed,
يَأْجُوجَ
Yajuj
وَمَأْجُوجَ
and Majuj
مُفْسِدُونَ
(are) corrupters
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the land.
فَهَلْ
So may
نَجْعَلُ
we make
لَكَ
for you
خَرْجًا
an expenditure
عَلَىٰٓ
[on]
أَن
that
تَجْعَلَ
you make
بَيْنَنَا
between us
وَبَيْنَهُمْ
and between them
سَدًّا
a barrier?"
Ayah
95
قَالَ
He said,
مَا
"What
مَكَّنِّى
has established me
فِيهِ
[in it]
رَبِّى
my Lord
خَيْرٌ
(is) better,
فَأَعِينُونِى
but assist me
بِقُوَّةٍ
with strength,
أَجْعَلْ
I will make
بَيْنَكُمْ
between you
وَبَيْنَهُمْ
and between them
رَدْمًا
a barrier.
Ayah
96
ءَاتُونِى
Bring me
زُبَرَ
sheets
ٱلْحَدِيدِ
(of) iron"
حَتَّىٰٓ
until,
إِذَا
when
سَاوَىٰ
he (had) leveled
بَيْنَ
between
ٱلصَّدَفَيْنِ
the two cliffs,
قَالَ
he said,
ٱنفُخُوا۟
"Blow,"
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَا
when
جَعَلَهُۥ
he made it
نَارًا
fire,
قَالَ
he said,
ءَاتُونِىٓ
"Bring me,
أُفْرِغْ
I pour
عَلَيْهِ
over it
قِطْرًا
molten copper."
Ayah
97
فَمَا
So not
ٱسْطَٰعُوٓا۟
they were able
أَن
to
يَظْهَرُوهُ
scale it
وَمَا
and not
ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟
they were able
لَهُۥ
in it
نَقْبًا
(to do) any penetration.
Ayah
98
قَالَ
He said,
هَٰذَا
"This
رَحْمَةٌ
(is) a mercy
مِّن
from
رَّبِّى
my Lord.
فَإِذَا
But when
جَآءَ
comes
وَعْدُ
(the) Promise
رَبِّى
(of) my Lord,
جَعَلَهُۥ
He will make it
دَكَّآءَ
level.
وَكَانَ
And is
وَعْدُ
(the) Promise
رَبِّى
(of) my Lord
حَقًّا
true."
Ayah
99
وَتَرَكْنَا
And We (will) leave
بَعْضَهُمْ
some of them
يَوْمَئِذٍ
(on) that Day
يَمُوجُ
to surge
فِى
over
بَعْضٍ
others,
وَنُفِخَ
and (will be) blown
فِى
in
ٱلصُّورِ
the trumpet,
فَجَمَعْنَٰهُمْ
then We (will) gather them
جَمْعًا
all together.
Ayah
100
وَعَرَضْنَا
And We (will) present
جَهَنَّمَ
Hell
يَوْمَئِذٍ
(on) that Day
لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ
to the disbelievers,
عَرْضًا
(on) display
Ayah
101
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those
كَانَتْ
had been
أَعْيُنُهُمْ
their eyes
فِى
within
غِطَآءٍ
a cover
عَن
from
ذِكْرِى
My remembrance,
وَكَانُوا۟
and were
لَا
not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
able
سَمْعًا
(to) hear.
Ayah
102
أَفَحَسِبَ
Do then think
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
disbelieve
أَن
that
يَتَّخِذُوا۟
they (can) take
عِبَادِى
My servants
مِن
besides Me
دُونِىٓ
besides Me
أَوْلِيَآءَ
(as) protectors?
إِنَّآ
Indeed, We -
أَعْتَدْنَا
We have prepared
جَهَنَّمَ
Hell
لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
for the disbelievers
نُزُلًا
(as) a lodging.
Ayah
103
قُلْ
Say,
هَلْ
"Shall
نُنَبِّئُكُم
We inform you
بِٱلْأَخْسَرِينَ
of the greatest losers
أَعْمَٰلًا
(as to their) deeds?
Ayah
104
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those -
ضَلَّ
is lost
سَعْيُهُمْ
their effort
فِى
in
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
(of) the world,
وَهُمْ
while they
يَحْسَبُونَ
think
أَنَّهُمْ
that they
يُحْسِنُونَ
(were) acquiring good
صُنْعًا
(in) work."
Ayah
105
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) the ones who
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieve
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
in the Verses
رَبِّهِمْ
(of) their Lord,
وَلِقَآئِهِۦ
and the meeting (with) Him.
فَحَبِطَتْ
So (are) vain
أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ
their deeds,
فَلَا
so not
نُقِيمُ
We will assign
لَهُمْ
for them
يَوْمَ
(on) the Day
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
(of) the Resurrection
وَزْنًا
any weight.
Ayah
106
ذَٰلِكَ
That
جَزَآؤُهُمْ
(is) their recompense -
جَهَنَّمُ
Hell -
بِمَا
because
كَفَرُوا۟
they disbelieved,
وَٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟
and took
ءَايَٰتِى
My Verses
وَرُسُلِى
and My Messengers
هُزُوًا
(in) ridicule.
Ayah
107
إِنَّ
Indeed,
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believed
وَعَمِلُوا۟
and did
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
righteous deeds,
كَانَتْ
for them will be
لَهُمْ
for them will be
جَنَّٰتُ
Gardens
ٱلْفِرْدَوْسِ
(of) the Paradise
نُزُلًا
(as) a lodging,
Ayah
108
خَٰلِدِينَ
Abiding forever
فِيهَا
in it.
لَا
Not
يَبْغُونَ
they will desire
عَنْهَا
from it
حِوَلًا
any transfer.
Ayah
109
قُل
Say,
لَّوْ
"If
كَانَ
were
ٱلْبَحْرُ
the sea
مِدَادًا
ink,
لِّكَلِمَٰتِ
for (the) Words
رَبِّى
(of) my Lord,
لَنَفِدَ
surely (would be) exhausted
ٱلْبَحْرُ
the sea
قَبْلَ
before
أَن
[that]
تَنفَدَ
(were) exhausted
كَلِمَٰتُ
(the) Words
رَبِّى
(of) my Lord,
وَلَوْ
even if
جِئْنَا
We brought
بِمِثْلِهِۦ
(the) like (of) it
مَدَدًا
(as) a supplement."
Ayah
110
قُلْ
Say,
إِنَّمَآ
"Only
أَنَا۠
I
بَشَرٌ
(am) a man
مِّثْلُكُمْ
like you.
يُوحَىٰٓ
Has been revealed
إِلَىَّ
to me
أَنَّمَآ
that
إِلَٰهُكُمْ
your God
إِلَٰهٌ
(is) God
وَٰحِدٌ
One.
فَمَن
So whoever
كَانَ
is
يَرْجُوا۟
hoping
لِقَآءَ
(for the) meeting
رَبِّهِۦ
(with) his Lord,
فَلْيَعْمَلْ
let him do
عَمَلًا
deeds
صَٰلِحًا
righteous
وَلَا
and not
يُشْرِكْ
associate
بِعِبَادَةِ
in (the) worship
رَبِّهِۦٓ
(of) his Lord
أَحَدًۢا
anyone."
